The video's you make are great. I'am a parts inspector at the Milan PDC Warehouse and seeing how these parts go together and work out in the field, I find it helpfull when inspecting problem parts. All i have to go on is blue prints. Hope John Deere and the UAW get some thing together for all of us. RN

Really enjoy your channel. I appreciate you explaining how a cotton picker works. I knew about the teeth but nothing past there. I remember when they picked by hand and when they backed the tractor under the picker
Interesting to watch a working farm. It would be really great if you would add text or voice to the video to explain what is being done in the first minutes of the video. How many acres of cotton were you harvesting? Do you grow other crops? Bless you for keeping this very important part of America alive. We would be nowhere without our Farmer’s, farms and agriculture!
in the first minute it's a cotton picker. when it opens up it means it's ready to eject a bale which is the white ball you can see. the baler is equipped with a roll of wrapper that it wraps the bale in. the tractor has a bale fork on the back that picks the bale up and brings it to a spot where they line the bales up and tag them with a number so the gin can come pick em up later.
As A MS my late dad was a cotton farmer u remind me a lot of him on weekends I visit him during whatever they were doin I was prolly 10 where me and his worker would spray and durin harvest we would cut but love to content wishes from A MISSISSIPPI VETERAN🫡
We Farm the same way here in Alabama 50 to 300 acre fields in 3 counties. We travel late at night or early in the morning. Enjoy those children when they're young, keep em in the cab with you as much as possible!
Our youngest daughter loved to ride along too. Those youngsters just makes you want to work harder. She would ask Dad can I ride with you in the tractor with the lid on it. Lol. Hoping to have our 1st grandchild soon. Not up to us, can't wait.

I have a few more questions after watching. Hope you have time to answer. Did you say you farm 9k or 5k acres ? Is it all cotton, or other crops, as well? How many hours & days does it take to harvest that? Do you sell your crop after harvest, or do you have it sold before harvest? What happens to the cotton left in the field? Does it grow back the next year? Watching this was so interesting! It’s fascinating to a person like me who loves nature and animals and loves the idea of farming but knows nothing about it. We planted around 5k acres of cotton last year, which took us close to 2 months to harvest. 9k acres total We replant each year, all crops... cotton, corn, & soybeans.
The Deere tractor at the start - the yellow tanks on the side, to balance the bales? Or Long Range fuel supply? Or both? It's an impressive operation, for sure.

I grew up driving a 99 and 299 John Deere cotton pickers they were 2 row pickers and ran 2.5 to 3 mph. Picking we eventually bought an used 699 picker no module builder or modules 5 to ten acres a day we dumped on trailers and physically tromped the cotton down in the trailers....I'm amazed that it took John Deere as long as it did to replace the basket system with integration of the big hay round baler with the cotton picker to make round bales.. Its funny But I have a friend that was until about 8 years ago part owner with his family in a IHC dealer and I get tickled every time I pass one of his fields now and see Green and Yellow pickers instead of Red pickers

The cotton left in the field is very little left over, if you mean the stalks it gets mowed down because it has no use.

It’s used during the growing season for liquid fertilizer to be applied with a knife rig or either herbicide/ pesticides to be sprayed with a boom
