kansas fans can learn from college football legends dan devine, don faurot, al onifrio, and gary pinkel on how to build some glory years like we had from 1935-1984 and 1997-to the present
MU in their 16 years of being in the Big 12 they won 3 Conference titles in ALL ATHLETICS...none of them were bball and football. And Ku has won 21 conference titles so far in Big12.
since 2003 mizzou is 76-40 while kansas is 53-57, so while you think mizzou is so bad many people throughout the college football world know that we have been good and at times great. remember before 1984 we were really really good and had the same exact bowl apperances as nebraska
Brandon Rush,Mario Chalmers,Sasha Kaun,Thomas Robinson,Tyshawn Taylor,Danning Manning,Kevin Pritchard,Kirk Hinrich,Drew Gooden,Nick Collison,Talib Kalib,Todd Reesing,Desmon Briscoe.....all these players ive mentioned have won conf titles,Been to multiple final fours, won bcs games and won National Titles....
its not about who leads in the series its about having 9 to 10 win seasons in football and making it to the ncaa tournament and making a good run once in a while which if you see mizzou since 2005 have won 63 games which on average is 9 wins and if you look at that 9-4, 6-2 is not that bad considering your playing tough competition year in and year out
don faurot invented the option and went to the orange and surgar and cotton bowl and won 60 percent of his games at mizzou and mark mangino at his way through ku med and died of heart attack
we technically won a national title in 2007 and 1960 in football because we had the best record in 1960 and beat illinios and arkansas the same teams that beat ohio state and lsu in the 2007 national championship and had the best loses
Mizzou does not claim they are a football school just better than KU. Im a mizzou fan and I would call them above average or average overall in all sports with the ocasional great year in a sport. Except for softball where they are a great team
To be a powerhouse YOU HAVE TO WIN AT LEAST ONE NATIONAL TITLE in football or basketball. MU doesnt even have a winning alltime bowl record for christ sakes..
Um.... I don't think so....Our softball team consisted of 80% lower class girls and only 1 SR...they're going to be ranked top 25 going into this year already.
But I will admit those last 2 years of Chase Daniels lead MU teams were one of the best teams in the country, and if NCAA FBall had a 16 team playoff then, we wouldnt even be having this discussion,Ive always said Missouri would have won a national title one of those years if NCAA FBall had a playoff system. So now MU is in the SEC?..Makes ZERO sense(other than money, which NO FAN will see personally)..MU couldnt even win a Big 12 conf title in fball. How they gonna win a SEC one?
MU HAS to Get OVER that hump in one of the two big sports(fball, bball) to be taken seriously, I thought this year was their best shot at their first final four but then look what happened. Im not sure what it is about MU in fball and bball when they get the big lights shown on them or they r on a big stage, they always fail, Dude no way am I ever gonna say MU is a football school till they make a couple bcs games and win a conf title here or there. But going to the SEC?...thats crazy, goodluck.
but gary pinkel is too cool cause he will be in college football hall of fame when he retires along with don faurot and dan aka the god of college football devine
GARY PINKEL HAS WON 63 PERCENT OF HIS GAMES AT MIZZOU DON FAUROT HAS WON 60 PERCENT OF HIS GAMES AT MIZZOU DAN DEVINE WON 75 PERCENT OF HIS GAMES AT MIZZOU WARRREN POWERS WON 60 PERCENT OF HIS GAMES AT MIZZOU
Exactly what real championships did you win while in the the big 12? And you know your not going to win any playing in the sec. The hardest conference in football and your trading kansas for Kentucky in basketball. Looks like life in Missouri will stay the same.
??????...what r you talking about, this is why im here, listen to yourself...how is MU a strong fball program and a strong bball program....what r you talking about????...Missouri hasnt won a CONFERENCE TITLE in football in almost 50 years(i mean forget competing on a NATIONAL stage, MU cant even get it done on a local stage!)...and for BBall?..r u kidding me...zero conf titles in almost 20 years and MU has NEVER made a Final four..NEVER!
Stop being DELUSIONAL, did you just put Nebraska and missouri in the same sentence?...wow thats like putting Kansas and missouri in the same sentence when talking bball...Nebraska has national titles and numerous conf titles and BCS wins to Missouri's none... NO One other than MU fans consider MU a "football school"...cant be a football school and have a loosing bowl record. Cant be a football school and not of won a Conf title in almost 50 years...thats nuts!!
How is Missouri competitve in football and basketball year in and year out?....MU hasnt won a basketball conf title since 1994(and it was the Big 8), MU hasnt won a fball conf title since 1969!...dude thats almost 50 years ago!!!...I mean KU has more Elite 8's the last 8 years than MU has ALLTIME....I mean KU has almost as many Final Fours as MU has actual NCAA Apperances, Dude...how is that being "competitive"....?...Now Mu is leaving for the toughest fball conf, fball is NEVER gonna happen.
You see , there u go, why r u worried about a 3rd tier fball program in Kansas?..If MU is EVER going to be known as a "football school"(not a fball powerhouse, but a football school), MU is going to have to be better than a 3rd tier fball program in KU. But historically, MU and KU r dead even fball programs, and thats sad for MU, cuz KU doesnt even claim fball.
Maybe u can fool someone who doesnt know MU's fball history, but i do, just go to wiki. MU has NEVER been a powerhouse in fball or bball, sorry...MU couldnt even win ONE conf title in fball or bball in the Big 12.
Give it up dude, MU isnt known for anything really, You cant be known basketball and not win a conf title in 20 years. You cant be known for football and not have won a conf title in almost 50 years and have ZERO BCS game apperances. MU isnt a powerhouse in anything. KU is a basketball powerhouse. If your school is a powerhouse in at least one of the two big sports(fball, bball), then your lucky, KU is MU isnt. Sorry, maybe if MU won a few SEC titles in fball and made a few BCS games.
Never heard of a school known for Football, that hasnt won even a conf title in almost 50 years, has ZERO BCS games and MU has a 14-16 alltime bowl record, plus MU isnt even better historically then KU, last 19 games head to head=10-9 KU, Dude give it a rest, Yes MU has had a few good teams the last 5 years,(honestly that 2007 Chase Daniels team I thought was the best team in the country), but MU always comes up short(hince Norfolk St,hince Oklahoma big 12 tfball title game)...sorry
You said.."Kansas is nothing but a basketball school nothing more".....Um you know thats a complimant? Do you know how many of the 400 plus D1 schools across the country would do just be a powerhouse in one of the two big sports?(fball and bball). If your school is a powerhouse in one of the two, you r lucky, and KU is a Basketball Powerhouse, Missouri isnt a powerhouse in either of the 2 big sports. MU had a good baseball thing going and even won a title in 1952, but they faded.
before we were bad in the mid 80's we had some of the best football between 1936-1983
@MizzouNash yeah, I think I heard that speech in Norfolk St's locker room...
AND SINCE 2003 WE WENT TO 8 OUT OF 9 BOWL GAMES WINNING FIVE AND HAVE A VINNING PERCENTAGE OF 70 PERCENT
DUDE WE WERE A POWERHOUSE IN THE 60'S AND 70'S IN FOOTBALL
kansas fans can learn from college football legends dan devine, don faurot, al onifrio, and gary pinkel on how to build some glory years like we had from 1935-1984 and 1997-to the present

we were like colorardo in the 80's and 90's

mizzou has been ranked 21 times in the coaches and ap poll and kansas has been ranked 7 times

kansas was also on probation in football and basketball
since 1920 mizzou has 520 victories and kansas has 397
2008 National Basketball Champions

don faurot invented the option and went to the orange and surgar and cotton bowl and won 60 percent of his games at mizzou and mark mangino at his way through ku med and died of heart attack

To be a powerhouse YOU HAVE TO WIN AT LEAST ONE NATIONAL TITLE in football or basketball. MU doesnt even have a winning alltime bowl record for christ sakes..
