I live in Memphis and I loved your video! But locals will tell you that Rendezvous is for tourists. Central BBQ is the only bbq I approve of. And I love that you went to Railgarten. It's such a cool place.

Central BBQ is crap. I've eaten there many times and the last time did it for me. The pulled pork was tough and the ketchup they have in large canisters was spoiled. I actually like Rendezvous much better. Cheers from Little Rock, Arkansas.

I’m currently in Orlando and I hate it. I need a job that I can’t get and I’m not even old it’s anti social and no kind of black unity here or unity period so tell me?

Cozy Corner is that hole in the wall. Everytime I go to Memphis it's the first restaurant I go to. It's authentic Southern BBQ Black BBQ. Those other tourist traps have black pitmasters but with a white surroundings. First bite you're hooked like a Crack addict it's that good.
In Mississippi there are BBQ joint in damn near every gas station and most are damn good, but you see any black near the food or cooking don't waste your money

Great video! I'm from Memphis, but have been in Florida for 20 years. I wish you would have gone to Stax music museum, Graceland, the Pyramid where the Bass Pro Shop is located, Mud Island, and Interstate BBQ (the BEST in Memphis..Pat Neely's family). There is so much to do and see in Memphis, so 48 hours is definitely not enough time! Thanks for sharing what you did. Also, those not from Memphis will also be pleasantly surprised at the southern hospitality we are famous for as well.

We've been only to New York so far, but thinking about giving the United States yet another chance as travel destination. :-)
As there's a flight to Atlanta from Dusseldorf, a Road Trip throughout the south seems interesting! From a European perspective, those are B-destinations - but with those, you learn more about the country and won't be exposed to German tourists all the time (as in NYC or San Francisco). And I enjoy places with lots of local tourists!

I live in the Overton Square area and there’s plenty to do in Midtown. See live theatre and live music. A new boutique hotel is being constructed at the Square and AirBnB’s are plentiful. Rent bikes or scooters and ride on the many bike lanes and trails. The Levitt Shell in Overton Park offers free concerts in spring and fall. Visit one of the best zoos in the US at Overton Park. The Concourse (old Sears Tower) is a vertical neighborhood with shops, entertainment, restaurants, retail, living space and more. Broad Avenue Arts District offers boutique shops, craft activities, bars and restaurants.

Great vid! But Rendezvous is the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. of Memphis lol. It's all about tourists. Locals don't really eat there.

What an incredible video! Did you shoot this alone? I think you did and you are officially awesome. You’re an amazing storyteller. Thank you so much for including the “I am a man” sculpture. Nobody ever does this in their Memphis videos. I hope you’ve done an episode on Knoxville!

Why does The Rendezvous show up in any of these travel videos? Their BBQ is awful compared to Central BBQ, Corky's, Cozy Corner, or even Lawler's BBQ. A&R BBQ is another good one.

we were just in TN, 2 nights Gatlinburg, 4 nights nashville (wasn't impressed with food we had, too touristy), 1 day memphis...would've split the time equally betw nville and memphis but a local couple told us to spend more time in nville....

Memphis and Nashville are very different, as you found out. My husband was a Lyft driver and was told many times that Memphis is earthier, more interesting place to visit.

Nashville and Gatlinburg is where you will get the true Tennessee experience. Beautiful cities and lots to do. Not Memphis 🤮
