I thought this was interesting until I realised it was a hair product advert! This kind of thing just perpetuates the stereotype that women are shallow and obsessed with their hair, not exactly inspiring.
I’m a single mother with a 7 year old daughter. I am really interested in this field I just wanted to know if it can coincide with my lifestyle since I have to be there with my child when she’s sick or doesn’t have school. If it can do well with work family balance
My sister works in the refineries and has 3 kids...simple answer is no, not when you have a demanding work schedule. Our mom takes care of her girls but she's able to provide them with a roof over their heads as well as spoil them lavishly that way they only worry about school.
I've been doing this for over 30 years women don't typically become welders because women don't typically like to work in skilled labor quite frankly I wouldn't care what your hair look like I wouldn't care what you dress look like I wouldn't even care if you were Steel toed boots and steel toed shoes if you can't weld you can't weld if you can you can but the one thing you're not is in competition with me in a piece-rate shop the only thing I'm in competition with is the fucking clock most job sites would be the goddamn safety man and the job site that I worked on with females on that they've been below average move the same pain but do half the work I work with one in the shipyard and she held her own meaning she wasn't asking for help she wasn't procrastinating she could go do her job then it's not a problem working with them but when they come on the job site and they're supposed to be seasoned welders and they're not making it and they get their ass run off just like everybody else does it's a problem and I don't understand that you work like the next individual you get treated like the next individual if you lazy don't even apply
