  • Dunmore Park House is an abandoned ancestral home in Airth, Scotland that has fallen into ruin. It was also used as a set location for the TV series 'Outlander'.
Dunmore House or Dunmore Park House is the name given to the Dunmore Estate and the lands previously owned by the Earls of Dunmore.
In 1820, George Murray, the 5th Earl of Dunmore, commissioned William Wilkins to build Dunmore House on the estate and it was completed in 1825.
The 4th Earl of Dunmore, John Murray, was responsible for the Dunmore Pineapple that was built in 1761 as a summerhouse for his family to enjoy Dunmore Park.
The Murray family continued to use the house until 1911. After that, it was a private home until 1964. From 1964 to 1970 it was reutilised as a private school for girls. But, it fell into decline, and the estate was split up into sections as sold off at auction.
Dunmore House didn't fare well and there were plans in the 1980s to completely demolish the building but they never carried it out.
Multiple bids have taken place to revamp the area including turning it into luxury resorts and housing estates. But all of them have been unsuccessful in carrying the plans forward.
So now we are left with a shell of what once was; home to a great family all those years ago.

I got 'burned down Wayne Mansion' vibes from your awesome shoot! The most added to the house immensely . I was here a couple years ago and hope to get back.

I was going to give up when the fog came down but decided to go ahead and give it a go.

The weather is exactly the same as the first time I saw the place, the first time the lads took me down that way after I moved to Cowie in '76, so it would have been late '76 or early '77 and I had just turned 12 😄 .... Takes me right back there .... Cheers 👍

Beatiful video, I love the subject matter, the flyovers and flythroughs. The music was perfect. This would be a cool movie intro to Lancelot or something like that. Keep up the good work.

Was going to call off the filming that day because the fog came down really heavy but glad I ended up carrying on.

It really is a shame that no matter where you go in the world there will always be people who feel they have to tag beautiful places with graffiti.

Superb video. Well done. As someone who has covered the house from both the air and a Walkthrough youve captured it well 👌👏👏👏👏👏👏

Brilliant. The mist ads to it. Well done. Where is this place. Not the sort of place to camp outside and spend the night

It's called Dunmore park house. Located just outside Airth in Scotland. Wasn't sure about flying in the mist as it's the first time I've done it.

Going by google I think a fire finished it off. Locals might be more aware of what really happened though.

Great video mate. I hadn't planned on filming in the fog. It had lifted when I left the house and came back down by the time I reached Dunmore which is only 4 miles away. I was there so just went ahead and filmed. My drone didn't like the fog though. Started acting really odd such as stopping mid flight and trying to land itself.

@@coconutislanddrones It's a great place you captured it very well the fog gives it an extra sense of eerieness I did want to do the pineapple and tower aswell but they were full of visitors happy flying my friend 😊👍

    • @coconutislanddrones
      @coconutislanddrones  ปีที่แล้ว

@@SkyHighVideos-4kAerialMedia It did turn out better than expected but obviously couldn't get many high shots. I filmed the pineapple back at the start of the year during the winter. Took a break in the weather when I was kind of sure there wouldn't be many people there. Might re-do it though as I was only learning to fly at that point and didn't know many of the flight moves that were possible.
