Wanted to be a mobile locksmith specialized in automobiles I have five Tacoma‘s all four-door thought I would use one of them thinking of buying autel 508…etc
Excellent video... Ive been mobile for nearly 4 years and I think I'm ready to switch to a storefront. Your shop is absolutely top-notch, clean, organized and stocked well. How long was that location open prior to making the video? What is the Sq ft of your showroom vs total footprint? Would you be available for further questions. It's a huge move for a 1 person business to move into a storefront.
I own an automotive repair shop. I want to add the making/programming of automotive keys nothing else. Do I go to fill out individual application at TOPS webpage from DPS and that's it or must I get training or have to work for someone first?
How do i find an apprenticeship in Texas? Just turn in job applications at local lock shops or do they have specific requirements before you can even work for a shop/company? Im really just looking for where to begin to find work with locks
A lot of people try to work here and submit resumes, so you need to stand out. I’m always looking for a hard working long term fit. If you feel your a good candidate and up to the challenge send me your resume.... uriah@guardiansafeandlock.com

Great channel. I have my own locksmith shop in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and i am going to the USA at the end of the year, is it possible to get work in a locksmith shop like yours to start and have experience with north american services?
nice video thanks, I want to start my locksmith store, where can I get all the product you have on the wall? who is the best supplier for all this products?
I've seen in your videos that you're a big fan of Pro-Lok Blue Punches. Me too -- I really love the A2 SFIC version. Makes life much easier and quicker. So I'm considering picking up punches for Schlage and Kwikset. However, do you have any experience with Rytan's RY2000 dual punches? Having dedicated Blue Punches seems more convenient, but double the price and workspace needed. So I'm intrigued by the Rytan. Thanks.
I want to be a locksmith and have my own shop but it seems so far away. It’s purgatory feeling this way. I’m gonna try my hand at it see what happens. I already do it as a handyman everyday making ends. I need more here’s to hoping it pays off.
First and foremost thank you for the videos and the knowledge keep up the hard work !! My question is What does it take to be a mobile locksmith in Texas?
Look into local locksmiths in your area and ask them if they're seeking apprentices or hiring. The worst answer is no, and then you can just try another. Also, be aware of your areas laws on locksmithing and private security to ensure you're in compliance. Thanks for watching! -Randall
@@danteporras9224 no you have to have experience and someone that had the experience has to sign off on the fact that you do have the 3 years experience first
Hi I just graduated from PenFoster school as a locksmith and have my diploma. I'm trying to start a locksmith business I have buy me tree cutting machines and some blank keys to begin with but my question is ho do i go to to get the starting kit and about how much will I need to spend to start as a mobile locksmith, I also have two car transponder Programmers can you give me a hitch on how to begin. I'm in Massachusetts
I am a weekend warrior locksmith. I work out of town all week for my regular job, come home on the weekends and do locksmithing. It’s a great way to afford your supplies and tools. I have one customer that frequently buys vehicles from auctions that have no keys.I come home and on Saturday, I do my thing and now he has keys. When I started out a few years ago, it was normal to go 3 months without a key job, now it’s normal to have 2-5 key jobs every weekend. I prefer the auto locksmithing. You will focus mostly on the type you’d prefer to do. With automotive, I got friendly with the local towing companies. It’s common for them to end up with vehicles that they put a lien on and then need keys for. In the theory of “you scratch my back, and I’ll scratch yours”, I made a few keys for them free of charge, and now they recommend a customer to call me, when they lose their keys and want their vehicles towed to a dealer. I’m sure I don’t get all of their lost key towing calls, as they are loosing business, but I stay busy, and word of mouth travels fast. Keep an eye on Facebook sites and other local sales sites like Craigslist or offer up for locksmith equipment and supplies for sale.
Hello! I am currently thinking of enrolling to Penn Foster. I have a lot of questions for you, but wont bombard you with them all lol. So it is a great way to get into the business? I was looking for a school and that seems to be my only option. How did things workout for you? I heard some places do not accept/recognize them. How was your experience? I'm in Louisiana btw.

Not sure what degree your getting, but if your in some sort of locksmith training course then depending on your state you may have to go work for a company 2 years before you able to work as an independent. In Texas you have to have two years experience and have someone sign off on it and pass the owner manager test to run your own company.
