  • The rope runner pro is such a great multicender. I use various redirect techniques as well as various anchoring techniques. I did blunder a few times with some cuts. The only reason is because the pieces that i did cut came close to that brand new car under the tree.

    I appreciate your videos but you need to speak up more on the voiceovers. It’s almost like you’re whispering despite cranking the volume on my end.

    Hook, you are a tree dismantler. I am always interested in what/how much gear you bring up, and how you end up using it.
    The triple tie-in at the end is something I have never done.
    Thanks for the video.

    The smart thing would be to move the car. If it does not run, push it out the way. Anything can go wrong at any moment.

    What's the point of switching from the alpine/ quickie to the ring and biner set up on the spar? I only ask because I always go alpine/ quickie on spar and at least to me it seems a heck of a lot faster when blocking down.

      Comes down to preference. Try it out sometime.

    That was one ugly tree and noodling up to the sky in several directions. I think you used every knot in your kit. Very deliberate with your ropes "knot" rushing and staying safe.

    I climb SRT I would never put the quickie pin against the bark I would always put the smooth side like you do towards the bark that's just pretty much common sense I think but everybody has their own style and that's okay too

      Great video.. I'm old school and wouldn't trust it at all. I tie a running bowline on a bight up top after I ascend. You never have to disconnect your climbing device and it works especially well if you use a rope wrench and prusik. You can retrieve it from the ground too if you're not doing a full removal and just pruning. Makes coming down and packing up a whole lot easier.

      @@fathersongun1043 oh I understand what you're saying definitely I'm pretty old school as well but I have gotten into the newer gear and I really like it it saves my arms it saves time but the trust thing is definitely a factor

    Great video when you tie your lanyard with the small rope I think it's called a beeline what kind of knot do you use I'm using a knot that I bought with the lanyard from tree stuff it tightens down so tight it has like six wraps on it could I possibly take two of them wraps off I think it's the VT knot

    • @chtclimbing
      @chtclimbing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      im not sure I understand what you mean. could you clarify what you mean by "beeline." If your are talking about the hitch cord. I actually only use a variation of the distil knot with 4 wraps. That goes for my lanyards and SRS or MRS.

    • @br-dj2ti
      @br-dj2ti 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chtclimbing yeah that's what I mean the hitchcord I'm sorry I like I said I bought one off a tree stuff and it came already together it's so tight when I try to get my weight off of it it does not slide sometimes I think it's the VT on there and it has six wraps total you think I could take two of them wraps off and be okay

    • @chtclimbing
      @chtclimbing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@br-dj2ti 100% you can take as many off as needed in order to achieve a good balance between grabbing and smooth slack tending. I weigh around 200lbs and I use a variation of the Distil hitch with four wraps

    • @br-dj2ti
      @br-dj2ti 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chtclimbing okay I'm about 215 lb I think it's the VT they have on there from tree stuff and it has five wraps at the top and one at the bottom and it's way too tight
