I appreciate so much the fact that you are a real tree man and you do what real tree men do! Instead of trying to be some fake person,to fit into the cookie cutter industry mold. I love seeing a super crew of guys doing tree work the way I would do it! So keep ignoring the naysayers and the people who always want to point out what you do wrong and keep making great video’s. The anchor over two stems is something I’ve used before but I was reminded of the ‘Yosemite Death Triangle’ by a fellow climber. It’s a situation in rock climbing where someone ropes over two tree on a face and the magnified forces across the stretch of rope along the top are strong enough to snap the trees. I don’t think it applies in this scenario as the forces are directed into the centre of the main stem so there’s no leverage but worth looking up anyhow.

I never thought about it for mountaineering, but I know that you can use a long rope to get a car un-stuck. You need some kind of anchor and pulley system, so the tension in the rope pulls the car in the right direction, but you can create a very high tension in the rope by pulling sideways at the midpoint between two anchor points. It's easier to visualize with a man suspended on a rope between 2 poles, like the high-wire at the circus.
When the angle of deflection is small, the horizontal component of the tension in the rope is enormous, approaching infinity as the rope approaches zero deflection. That's why all power lines sag. The only way to eliminate that sag is to snap the cable.
Assuming the cable or rope is weightless, the weight of the performer is directed downward, and it represents the vertical component of the tension, which is the sine of the angle (vertical component divided by the tension). Get well soon!
I;ve often wondered if you could set up protection like rock climbers do on your way up the tree, say, every ten feet, so that if the top breaks out you don't fall all the way down.
Another awesome video August! Just be careful with sharing to much info with that iPhone like pin to unlock. There are some real scumbags on the internet.
Seems like I never have enough space to drop a top like that
Yikes! Comes to mind. These gentlemen are bad asses. Lol , I'm not really a drumstick guy :)
Nice job guys .from one seasoned climber to another. Ppl who have never done this before. Has no idea about the adrenalin rush .it's insane
Thanks for another great video! Stay safe.
Nice Video! I like the double coke can anchor, solid!
Maybe Jeff can help you! Made me laugh it must have been getting heavier by the second.😅
Tree work is insane. Insanely dangerous.
Wild Turkey is good, especially out of the bottle.🍸🍸🥂🥂
Good clean work !
Chipping that big stuff will make Bucking Billy Ray cry!
Always the best content.
Wow, such a precision. I bet I would hit the roof while throwing the logs :D
Hahaha the turkey bit...
Thanks for another great video August! No battery saw in the tree lately?
+1. also curious why we have not seen the T540i much lately
Great work! 1 question, what has happened with the ‘speed line’ usage? I hardly ever see you using them or mentioning them any more. God Bless Sir.
Using them today
Love the winch on the vameer
You need to cut some of your tie-in points out of the tree and figure out a way to mount them in your breaking machine.
I’d like to see that myself. Mostly because I’ve been putting off climbing my big brittle redwood tree to install an antenna! lol
Indeed
I hope you checked the nest for babies Damien. One thing I hate about tree work, taking away the animals homes especially in winter. Or accidentally killing😢
I agree. I really hope there wasn’t babies in there
