    What AI feature do you want to see next on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro?

      I'd like to be able to send a message to people in specific apps like Microsoft Teams and basic things like turning TVs on and off in my house with some form of consistency and not having to touch the phone. Google Assistant has seemed to have gotten worse over the years so if small day to day tasks are easier I feel this would set it apart if they can use the brains of Bard for simple things.

      I have the Pro and no new AI is needed what is needed is to put the Pro Features into the smaller sized phone. Its way too heavy and large. Need a purse to carry it and Im not a women.
      Im on the fench on returning it to the bloat. Funny its battery does not last any longer than the non pro. I just like the zoom camera. The watch lasted me 14 hours not 24. Kind of half backed for the price.

    Call Screen is such an underrated feature. I use both Pixel and iPhone and I miss this feature so much when I'm using my iphone. No spam or scam calls make it to me when I'm using my Pixel. It gets screened in the background. Meanwhile on my iphone I've been getting so many scam/spam calls.

    As an iPhone user since v1 and forever, I love the Pixels. I went to the store yesterday just to compare them to my 15P. Fantastic fit and finish. I hope it succeeds. Just on the display , allegedly despite being nice and bright and colorful, according to another reviewer it is a peg below the displays on the galaxy and iPhone flagships if you want the the more expensive hdr displays for watching movies in maximum high color definition .
    Probably won’t notice it in normal use I suspect, but you have to consider apples for apples when you call out one for being cheaper than another there is probably a a C reason.

      @@MarkEllisReviews I think as you've said before (and I've said in my replies to you that I'm exactly the same!), you're "trapped" in the Apple ecosystem but love the Pixel's photos and other features. I'm always having little flirts with Pixels and trying them out before realising I'm so embedded with Apple with my Watch Ultra, iPads, HomePods, Mac, HomeKit devices that I am never, ever leaving Apple unless something cataclysmic happens. I used my Pixel 7a for three weeks before my iPhone 15 Pro Max arrived, and I enjoyed many aspects of it, but missed the Apple ecosystem so much because I'm so reliant on it.
      I put "trapped" in quotes because I think Apple's ecosystem is second to none, and I thoroughly enjoy being in it, but its excellence makes it impossible to leave.

    It's a better looking phone than the iPhone, but that's not difficult. iPhones have been pig ugly since the iPhone 8. That camera array is ghastly and you can't lay it on a flat surface, even in a case. Google solved that issue with the camera bar.

    In the video shot outside parliament, the audio sounds unnatural with elements removed and your voice sounds dulled. I had to strain less to listen to you in the un-edited version; and I have tinnitus. Maybe our ears can do the job of focusing on a single audio element better than the software. While the removal/reduction of discrete audio elements is impressive and the development of that technology is to be encouraged, it doesn't yet appear to be at a stage where it is good enough to be practical.

    This is a very unique phone because of Generative AI ... I'm glad you focused on that to show why you would want this over other phones out there. I'm actually waiting for mine to get here ... Great video as always. I can't wait for the update months from now. I was truly amazed by the front camera for this video ... I thought you were using the back cameras. Cheers

    It’s crazy how I just managed to buy one on eBay brand new for £720, it just came out and the value is already so low. My 14 pro max was sold for £650 after 13 months. Android phones are great but do not keep their value at all.

    well this year i jumped ship, sold all my apple gear mainly for applications i need windows for (Power Bi, full excel, SQL) and part of that was moving to an android phone i literally got the pixel 8 yesterday (not the pro) coming from an iphone 13 pro max so far i am loving the size reduction and the AI phone features are fantastic. I have always admired the pixel look but it wasnt an easy decision to leave apple. I still pine for my iPad Pro but slowly getting used to the surface pro 9 for productivity and content consumption. I would highly recommend the pixel phone and your wallet will thank you too also it came with free pixel buds pro which are awesome compared to my original airpods

    I may be in the minority, but I love the quirky gimmicks that Google puts into their Pixels every now and then. Remember the radar in the Pixel 4 XL that let you use hand gestures to navigate, wave to Pikachu, etc? Those odd choices always make these phones feel unique, even if they're gimmicky.

    With Google's general attitude towards data protection, isn't there a concern with regards to the amount of AI this thing is packing? Especially with the features that require a file being sent to the cloud?

    • @Captain_Yossarian
      @Captain_Yossarian ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably a concern for AI in general. Given the potential negatives of AI that's probably on the milder side of what could go wrong. But that gets overly serious. FYI the 8Pro appears to do more AI tasks on device Vs the cloud. I believe Pixel 8 regular sends more to the cloud. But someone might correct me, just what I read repeatedly.

    Hi Mark. New subscriber here. I really enjoyed your Pixel 8 Pro review and your studio, your obvious expertise, and your pleasant easy going voice just makes it a pleasant experience to watch. My wife & I live in the States & I received an email from Verizon today stating I was eligible to trade up for a free Pixel 8 if I ordered online. Long story short, I ended up trading my wife's 3 year old Pixel 5 for a new Pixel 8 Pro with 256GB of storage for $258. My wife already ordered a Caseology case for it & I ordered anew Whitestone Dome Glass screen protector for it. Hopefully she enjoys it as much as I do my Pixel 6 Pro.

    Some of that B Roll stuff is a bit flaky, but when you have phones like the 8 Pro and 15 Pro Max, do you even need pro cameras for this sort of work any more? The main video stuff looks great. I have a 6a and its brilliant apart from being made of cheese, which is a shame.

    • @MarkEllisReviews
      @MarkEllisReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      The front facing camera did an amazing job on this one - I agree. I think the b-roll looks great, too. Pro cameras just give you more control, which isn’t necessary for a good TH-cam video, conversely 👍

    • @triforce2022
      @triforce2022 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jamief3035 on many android phones, for example your current S23+, you can connect a USBC to HDMI adapter to your phone to display what is on your phone on something like a TV, project, or computer monitor. This is helpful for some users who like to connect their phones to TVs for slide shows of pictures, playing mobiles games on a larger screen even.
      I am a mobile game streamer and need to use said adapter and cable to play many of the games I play. With Pixel phones, they have not included this feature, which stops me from using them personally long term.

    More reviewers should review the regular 8 because not everyone can afford the extra $300 or wants the extra camera gimmicks or the lame thermometer feature. I get it, tech reviewers want the best and most expensive, but most regular people like me prefer the compact size of the Pixel 8. That being said, the 8 series looks much better this year. I'm waiting to see if more of the core issues have been fixed which is something most all these reviews don't mention. Hopefully we see more regular 8 reviews in the coming days.

    • @MarkEllisReviews

      I have a video on the 8 arriving this weekend. The Pro series draws the audience, I'm afraid, hence its elevation in content calenders.

    • @5150crazyfun
      @5150crazyfun ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MarkEllisReviews I think it depends on who you are. Obviously if you want the upsell to the best then it’s the 8 pro. But your average consumer like me only wants a reliable flagship experience on a budget and that would be the pixel 8.

    • @goodguy4611
      @goodguy4611 ปีที่แล้ว

      @5150crazyfun you can't generalise an audience. Not everyone is going to buy the cheaper one, not everyone is going to buy the more expensive one. The pro generally has more features, so that is what reviewers are going to review first. Tldr: same main camera, same main chip, software locked ai features compared to 8 pro, lower res screen.

    • @5150crazyfun
      @5150crazyfun ปีที่แล้ว

      @@goodguy4611 exactly my point. These tech reviewers automatically assume everyone wants the 8 pro because there are maybe 2-3 reviews on the regular 8. All of the rest are 8 pro reviews. Like I said above it depends on who you are and what you prioritize. I’m just saying more balanced coverage should be out there for the base model too.

      All Galaxy phones have been the same the last 3 years. The Pixel 8 Pro is the slowest flagship with the worst battery life. The iPhone 15 Pro Max best the S23 Ultra on speed, battery life, and blind camera test...that's innovation. Watch all Android phones use Titanium and add an Action Button next year to copy Apple's innovation. Notice the only thing the Pixel 8 Pro does well is camera tricks with software. Most people won't use those tricks daily
