    Never thought to combine eggs with prawns. Definitely gonna try that. My go to when I have "nothing" in the fridge is usually Ramen. I always have broth frozen, some type of dried mushrooms or something to make a nice tare, and the toppings will be whatever I do find in the fridge.

    @Emma Superstar (and others, actually, living around the corner): I'm german, living next to the north sea. My dad was a sailor. I'll try to look this up on wikipedia: try to find north sea shrimps. They can only be found in our area. They come already cooked (on sea). According to my dad (who traveled 140 countries in the world), they can not be compared.
    Sorry: found it on wikipedia. But there is no english version to go to. You will have to work your way through this.
    They are amazing! And I like to use heaps of chives to substitute the spring onions:
    de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordseekrabbe_(Lebensmittel)
    Great recipe, anyways!
    With lots of respect from the far north of Germany!

    To answer your question at the end of the video, well, being Thai, nothing beats Thai omelette. But!!! There's a but. It's easy to make, but it's also surprisingly hard to nail. It could be burnt and uncooked at the same time, or it could be oily or else. I still can't figure out how to properly make the extra crispy version of it, like the one I used to have at the hawker in front of my primary school when I was young. A bit sad that I didn't seriously watch how that auntie made it back then.

    • @SchoolofWok
      @SchoolofWok  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe we will try and nail it!

  • @leumas75
    @leumas75 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Actually, what you’ve made here is close to my goto nothing in the fridge dish. I always have eggs, and I always keep some dried chorizo around, so a nice Mexican omelette is always 4-5 minutes away!

    Why add sugar to the eggs? I have never done that, and I’m curious if it adds… something to the taste and/or texture (browning maybe?) to the eggs or overall dish, other than just sweetness.

    • @SchoolofWok
      @SchoolofWok  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It just helps to balance the whole dish :)

  • @robertlangley258
    @robertlangley258 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wouldn’t it be better to cook the eggs in butter instead of adding oil a second time and wouldn’t it taste better? I’m asking because I don’t know. But this looks good.

    • @SchoolofWok
      @SchoolofWok  3 ปีที่แล้ว
