You made some mistakes. The gaskets under the cylinder are measured with a special tool, that's the first thing. Secondly, when tightening the power valve you MUST hold it with a 6mm spanner, otherwise it cracks... At the beginning it doesn't show, but after 15-20 moto hours it cracks in half. But all in all a good job :)
That's not your working style! Normally you should turn the piston to smaller diameter and then put a new little aluminium bush into the cylinder! 😂 That's the way you fix 99% parts! 😂
That’s why they always teach you to put the clip gaps to the top or the bottom - never sideways. ( that said , never seen one fail like that )
when u hit the rist pin out put your hand on the back of the pistion when u dont it putting pressure on the crankshaft and rod
@NickoLps a little ungenerous aren't we?
He’s right though. And for keyboard warrior you seemed the more violent, but hey that’s just my opinion 🤷🏼
Who me
jack strempel I was on about Nickolps. I was agreeing with u.
Oh no, putting pressure on parts that are made to be molested at 10000+rpm
Good vid m8 I'm doing one of these tommorow that's seized👍
Nice rebuild man👍👍👍
It appears as if you didn't lube the piston before assembly. Is there a reason for that?
How did that vertex piston hold up for you. Thinking about getting that exact one. Great video, thanks.
Vertex is actualy KTM OEM piston
How many hours did this piston drive
20hours.
Trainings + race.
This is a cilinder that dont need a powervalve... but ktm wants to... becouse it looks good😂😂

Was new cylinder needed? Couldn’t you have bored out the cylinder and got a larger piston?
Very damaged.
0.5 MM groove on cylinder.
Cylinder is plated aluminium, no iron liner, so cannot be bored out as such. Though it can be repaired & re plated
Squish plz? @@PaulXchannel
Did he torque anything down?
What year ktm 65?
Price of lot ? I speak french excuse mi for the error
Slow ! But nice and rough 😜

I'm glad he's still visiting my channel.
Thanks.
@@PaulXchannel no problem I love to comment your chanel, youre a good machinist but some things can be improved ! ;)
What mm was the piston
Everything is in the video.

Paul X thank you
You need to invest in a torgue wrench
What the heck happened to the head? Looks like someone took a pipe wrench to it. How did the cylinder works cylinder hold up? I’ve never tried one.
Retaining ring - dropped out.
Ummm, Do you own a torque wrench?
I've heard about this device before :)
1:06 what is this you are taking off?
Looks like diaphragm of power valve actuator
