I recently visited and came back from Philadelphia in September of 2020. I kept seeing those bugs too, and never saw them before, and one of my relatives living there told me they came from China. I don't know how so many of them got all the way from China, but that's another 2020 problem from China a portion of the U.S has to deal with. At least those bugs don't bite or sting humans, but its ridiculous how many there are.
