This time selected Pile 2 - Had a performance review meeting 10 days back and I showed my frustration as I am not able to grow in my career path. They are intentionally doing it, they keep promoting certain types of engineers who are difficult to find in the market and everyone else stays on the same role for years and years. My work has been appreciated not just by my team but by others teams as well and I always received rating as "exceeding expectations". I was told to continue doing it and that they have more expectations from me. I worked for 4 years and same people kept getting promoted twice due to office politics and for me they keep saying they have nothing planned. Unfortunately, there are layoffs and recession going on in my field so can't even move, but hoping they make some changes that benefits individuals growth as well since eventually people also want to grow in their career when they make the company grow.
Grp 3- exactly the current atmosphere where I work. I see it and have had the intuition of what needs to be done but as usual it takes ppl longer to catch up and figure it out. We as employees have been basically beaten down and tossed about. Sucks
Pile #2 I have my own venture & was trying to apply this to another organization that should be an ally to us (as they have an obvious financial motivation) but unfortunately has been extremely limited in that regard. Therefore, I’ll probably have a limited/external perspective on how any changes to this organization play out but appreciated the overall message of patience. On another note, I’d be interested to see Pick a Card content on your channel geared to start-ups as no career readings on TH-cam are addressing entrepreneurship of any kind products, services, consumer or enterprise.
