@@themechbuilder6171 Er ... In fact yes, the British and German jet engines were developed at roughly the same time, but the British jet engines were far more reliable than the German ones by 1945 anyway. The British had operational jet fighters, (The Gloster Meteor} but they were not allowed to fly over Germany in case they fell into German hands, although it wouldn't have mattered at that stage.
It's cool how a plane can still be maneuverable with multipurpose ailerons only its just the controls are different and the internal systems are different
Northrup Grumman did build a 1:1 dummy and actually tested the remains of the original prototype and it is infact much harder to detect by radar than any other plane from that era. I don't know the radar signature but they compared it to getting detected 2:30 minutes before reaching britain oposed to the 19 minutes of the actual planes that fought in the battle of britain
Gothaer Waggonfabrik was bombed twice in 1944 by the USAAF's 8th Air Force B-17s and B-24s. First in February 1944 and then again in July 1944. So after it was bombed back to the stone age where were the Ho 229's built? Evidence shows that the three prototypes were built in one of Dr.-Ing. SS General Hans Kammler's caves and that he canceled the entire Horten project on 17 March 1945. There was never a Gotha Go 229. Check it out.
Hi David, Thank you for your comment. I belive the same that the GO229 was never a project name of this plane. But many documentation name the Horten IX as GO 229. This title are only because to have this name also in the youtube search string.
Yes David, we checked it out. After your heroic pilots made their excellent job bombing Germany - especially the centers of all german cities - "back to the stone age" there was nothing. Never. There were never the best tanks of the world, there were no Type 21 U-boats, never A9 up to A15 rockets, of course there was never an atomic bomb, no nuclear reactor, no flying discs, no gigantic underground-facilities where american soldiers never put even one step inside - until TODAY. And they never will. And so on.... Yes, dear american buddy David, all that NEVER happened. - Last notice: Ho IX and Go 229 means the same warplane. Check it out. The next Horten-plane they worked at was the Ho 18 AMERICA-bomber. Lucky United States. This of course never happened too.
Also nix Amerikabomber.

77 years later it still looks futuristic!
Incredible how advanced Germany was with aircraft designs during WW2, decades ahead of any other country.
indeed
Not so much in engine design though.
@@bobmetcalfe9640 they had JET ENGINES! no one had those right?

Luckily all these weapons came out too late in the war for the Nazis….Hitler put the cart ahead of the horse.
Ganz Klasse!

Imagine seeing one of those flying around during the war, you'd have thought aliens were invading.
What a wonderful aircraft.
That was great! Thank you gentlemen.

Beeindruckend und wunderbar, nur in Deutschland. Es sieht aus wie ein aktualisierter Jäger.
i hoff i gseh das tolle projekt mol live super sach Fred
Klasse gemacht

Wow Respekt
Tiny 1/12 scale England was looking very nervous when this took off.
Eh, it wasn’t enough to stop the 1/12 scale Russian army so doesn’t matter anyway.
@@SpaceTravel1776 without lend and lease the Red Army would have been nothing.
I would like to see a larger scale RC like this tested to see kind of radar signature it has, to see if it really was the first stealth aircraft.
They don't need to computer modeling would do a much better job of that.

It wasn't stealth by design. It was only stealth by lack of metal to build planes at the end of the war.
@@georgechristoforou991 Infact it was, they used carbon between the wood layers to refract the radar waves
It was it had a smaller radar because it’s a flying wing
Schöne flugzeug
Great attempt, just the landing gear to have fully operational
What happened to the wheels?

Super cool

Excellent
What possessed these builders to make such an ugly plane- no wonder the sightings of UFOs has increased.
3-D print that for a drone, only with turbo props. 😜
Well its how the yanks made the B2.
