Thank you for analyzing these 2 competitors. After being somewhat disappointed with KitchenAid appliances for the past several years, I elected to move to an all-Café lineup for my upcoming kitchen renovation. Looks like I came to the correct conclusion, but time will tell.
What got my attention with the Cafe range is the 6 burners and the optional use of a grill (comes with the range) over the center burners. But when I did my kitchen reno in late 2017-2018, I said no to the double oven version. After pretending to remove and lift an imaginary something from the lower, larger oven Cafe oven, found that experience to be too much strain for older users like myself. Too bad that Cafe (when the brand was known as GE Cafe) changed its lower drawer from a baking drawer (like the one on the KA range) to a warming drawer. That change happened sometime in either 2016 or early 2017 before I bought my range in late 2017.
@@YaleAppliance1Please please comment on total water in the tub. for the LG wash combo! I read the most water you can use is with the Towel wash + Turbo Wash 360 + Extra Rinse (+3) GE Ultrafast has an option for +3 gallons to the Wash & Rinse cycles. And it's noticeably more water.
Thanks for all your great content! Can you do a comparison between 30 inch Thermador and Bluestar entry level ranges (Thermador prg304WH vs Bluestar RCS/RNB).
I really appreciate your channel. Which think is the best between the Cafe & the Monogram. I'm getting new appliancesand trying to decide. Thanks for any advice. Have a Wonderful week!
😢 glad I found your channel and videos! I went from KA, to Frigidaire Pro and then cafe. Mostly all my criteria (multiple choice cooking, baking/proof feature, probe, warming drawer) were met with Cafe. After weeks if researching, i spent a bit more but knew I would have regrets had I settled. Ironically, during the search, my 10 yr old Bosch dishwasher had a door pulley snap and the part just fell onto the floor. I immediately bought another Bosch since it is the best DW I ever had. Newest Bosch i found has Crystal Dry that is meant to dry even plastics. Big plus. One minus is the utensil badket size is cut in half. The reasoning is that utensils can be placed in the third rack at the very top. The new Bosch also has capability to adjust the uppermost rack. Think i will save the utensil basket from my old Bosch and see if it fits the new one! Can you please do a comparison video of Bosch, vs Asko, vs Kitchen Aid? Even though i bought Bosch, I woukdive to see if others feel loyalty to Bosch DW. Thanks! Lor in PA
Do customers usually mix and match like a cafe drive and a kitchen aid dishwasher or usually everything from the same brand ? Great video ! Thank for providing such unique content on TH-cam
mix and match is usually fine, with the same finish, but if you are getting semi-custom color combos from Cafe, you are kind of locked in if you care about the aesthetic
Heard Steve mention the black color when talking about h Cafe appliances, does that color fall into the "black stainless steel" coating that should be avoided at all costs or is it a different paint/coloring?
@@YaleAppliance1 I’d rather know what brands and models you guys own personally and your experiences with them. Just like if I went to a restaurant and has access to the cook. I wouldn’t ask him what his coastline best I’d be asking him what he likes best.
I love your videos....however I wish besides features, you would discuss how long they last and how much they have to be repaired....i have old notion that GE products are cheaply made and don't last....so Cafe may look nice but will it last more than 5 years?
It would be nice to see a North American (including Canada!) vendor for a brand from England, by the name of Neff. Their wall oven with the slide 'n hide oven door is what ovens should be.
I loved my KitchenAid refrigerator, but after waiting for almost three months for a replacement when the compressor went out, I ended up using my refund money to buy the Café.
I own a Kitchenaid 5 drawer and a GE profile which seems mechanically identical to the CAFE. CAFE water is better, Kitchenaid keeps food better for longer, CAFE is much better ICE, Kitchenaid much less frost in freezer though i open Kitchenaid more. Kitchenaid water filler is ghetto, CAFE is awesome. Kitchenaid plastics are trash, CAFE are not terrible.
@@YaleAppliance1 Got it. I feel like more brands should do double ovens. Very useful to cook smaller items + quick preheat. It seems only a few brands have that.
You're not able to install gas ranges in new construction and gut renovations in New York City, that is going to be the norm across the country soon. They really should be comparing electric and induction ranges.
The Cafe looks good except it's a turn-off when I look at a cooktop and the first things I see are "Bluetooth" and "WiFi". If I'm that addicted to my phone then I wouldn't be cooking and would probably have DoorDash deliver my meal. A connected Smart Pot is not for me -- just another gimmick that is bound to go wrong or get hacked.
This channel is so helpful.

Are you guys willing to do model comparisons of each brand's appliance type? Like you did with Bosch's different dishwasher models?
Really looking forward to your LG Washcombo vid!
so am I...working on it now

Good morning!
I can't find that you talk about Capital ranges. Is that true and what is your opinion? Thanks
I didnt know they were still around...liked them years ago. They are like BlueStar, open burners, lots of power.

I have, not high dollar brands though. I preferred a better dishwasher than what the packaged deal came with so I got a GE instead of the Samsung.

NO!...its a matte black, not the peelable black stainless
Thank you!
Biggest help would be tell us your personal experiences with features and reliability for appliances you guys own or have owned in your own homes.
We have reliability videos based on over 37,000 service calls.

why dont gas version of ge cafe range have backlit knobs? electrc range has it.
To fit 3 large pots you need a 6 burner cooktop. On my current range I have 4 burners and can only fit 2 large pots.

Is Café updating their refrigerators? They seem to have had the same design and technical features for the last 5 years.
I am not sure.....

Doesn't KitchenAid also have a double oven? I believe KFDD500ESS is the model?
They do...but its a freestanding with the backguard. Not popular, but it is a double oven like the Cafe

This illness is not going to be the norm soon. Governor Abbot just signed a bill which prohibits local governments from banning gas appliances.
