This simple sewing tutorial is perfect for wedding decor or even could be used as chair backs for the newly married couple! The banner tutorial can be personalised for whatever size or message that suits you! Maybe you want to add your names, or even a favourite song lyric (first dance lyrics perhaps?).
We've used fabric pens for this DIY but you could use fabric paint, iron on transfer paper or even something like a Cricut machine to create your text/design!
You will need:
- Unbleached calico fabric
- A paper template - our finished banner measured 18cm x 23cm (at the point) and we used a hem allowance of 1.5cm for all sides and 5cm at the top to create the channel.
- Scissors
- A wooden dowel (the length will depend on how big you make your banner)
- Screw eyes
- Twine/String for hanging
- Fabric pens/fabric paint/vinyl or iron on transfers
