@@SkonrokkenTV To quote Dwight Schrute: "That's debatable". The purpose was for me to get feedback on which of these guitars to keep. So changing the pickups would not have made sense.
I liked both Eastmans a lot. The T186 is very lightweight and amazing to play. The t59 feels equally great without the added bonus of being almost completely hollow. I just had to file a pickup screws on the 59 down a bit, as the aging had created sharp edges that made playing the guitar rather uncomfortable.
I preferred the Eastman's neck profile, the tone was a bit smoother on the Eastman, and it is much lighter. For a jazz sound, I would definitely prefer the Eastman, for Fusion, Blues and Rock, it depends on wheter or not you like the Ibanez's neck profile.
The Ibanez sounds fantastic. Thank you for the demo.
I dig that Yamaha. Thanks for putting this together.
Great demo!
Why demo with different than stock pickups? Defeats the whole purpose of comparison...

T-186MXL-CL … Some guitar companies could seriously use some lessons in creating memorable labels, 😂
Which one feels the best?

Which did you prefer between the Ibanez and Eastman T186MX (both both tone and playability)?

@dadbodguitarsandgear1001 how is the Ibanez's neck profile? More D shape (flat) or C fat super rounded?
I think it is more d shaped, the shoulders feel very prominent...so maybe flatter in the middle and rounder towards the sides.
