I can’t find this answer anywhere. Maybe I’m have some luck here, but we already have existing Wi-Fi here at home but I wanted to get my own Wi-Fi router in my room. Is there a way to get a coax cable upstairs without interrupting the existing Wi-Fi router and coax cable?
Mesh system. No need to move any cable. Each router is it's own system and has no upload download loss like wifi extenders and you can still plug in for a hardline.
Need new end pieces. That copper in the middle of the wire is the part transferring information so if it's got paint on there... well makes it very difficult or impossible for it to do it's job. Cable company, or buy tools off amazon or klein's website. Fittings, kremper, dykes, strippers
I have a white coax cable in my room but a black cable that plugs from that, into my router/modem (not this kind of tech savvy). Also if that’s not the problem, the coax in my living room works but the one in my room doesn’t. What could be causing that?
It sounds like the other end is not hooked up to your cable company. Check the small panel outside of your house that says catv and look to see if all the coax cables are connected.
@@UltimateTechHub please I need help on how to do that. I just bought a coaxial cable that fits into my Samsung smart tv and my coax wall outlet. But I still can't see what is being shown on the tv on the other tv instead I can see local channels
Are coax wall outlets safe? (Not the coax cable, the one on the wall)Is there electric current or anything running through them? I have an old one in my bedroom that was there before I moved in.
Coax cable will usually poses no harm to you at all. There really shouldn't be any more than 4 millivolts coming out of each ends of your wall plate outlet. Coaxial deals with frequencies that is a little as 5 MHz up to 2000 MHz depending on the system. Any power on a HFC system (cable network) that is above 12dbmv is too much power. That's really a fraction on 1 volt! So, no. There is no fire hazard or shock hazard (unless you have a backfeed, bad ground to an equipment or power inserters) at all.
Yes. 90° fittings don't always have the best contact with the cable center conductor and generally fail faster then standard good quality fittings. I never use them as they are hit and miss.
COAX speed is limited by DOCSIS stands for "Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification. Most common for consumers are versions 3.0, and 3.1, 4.0 is too expensive. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DOCSIS
New subscriber, Thanks for taking the time to do this video it answered several questions I had, but I have one more. I live in a 100 year old house that has coax cable all over the place, I would like to get rid of some of the ones in the basement because they are in the way (they have open ends). I only use a cable to the router on second floor, would it be safe to cut those cables? Is there an easy way to test the cables to see if they have a load?... could be using the wrong term.. to see if they are the cable that my signal is on?
@@persian-k4i if it looks like it has already been cut cleanly then you will be good. Just make sure the entire coax is cut evenly with no uneven edges. That way the f type connector sits flush.
Ultimate Tech Hub Hi I’m doing this right now and seem to be having a problem with connecting it to the outlet like it does not stick any advice. I would appreciate ASAP
ok so i just got cox and we don’t have a coax wall plate and i need help the wifi box says i need to connect it to a coax cable but all the cables in my house run through the wall. please hep
So you don't have any visible coax in any rooms? You shoudl have a coax in every bedroom and living room. Is there a blank wall plate in any of the rooms? If yes unscrew the blank wall plate and the coax should be inside.
@@hykdee so the coax cable is coming out of the wall? Just hook up your modem to one of the coax cables. Then connect that modem to a wireless router via a ethetnet cable.
@@hykdee if you want wifi and more than one computer internet connection. If you have only one computer and don't need wifi then the modem is all you need.

Doesn’t listen to this guy , if your cable is physically broken then it no longer transferring the RF properly, you have noise, signal loss. Get a new cable or just call your internet provider. The broken cable is definitely causing your speed loss.
Martin is right. Your cable modem bonds up to 24 downstream frequencies (channels) to get the speeds out of your DOCSIS 3.0 modem. Broken cables will cause signal to noise issues and ingress. You have any of those problems you will experience network issues and that includes slower internet speeds.
You will need to plug a modem into the coax outlet and then plug in the wireless router into the modem. Here is a video you can watch for that setup. th-cam.com/video/78lnzTRdP24/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching and keep me posted if you have any issues. :-)

Can a Coax Cable give you an electrical shock? Watch and find out!
Yes it can, if this happens call an electrician and do not hook it back up to your equipment!
Can you connect a coax cable to any coaxial outlet ?
Yes
Does it matter if the ends are gold for use with antenna
Nope, it all works the same.

Quick correction for you: The transmission speed of coax is 10 Mbps (megaBITS per second), not megaBYTES per second.

I can confirm, do not use a flame thrower. 🤚💀

Yeah they are
You never want to spin the barrel on the f-connector. You want to only spin the connector so it doesn’t score the center conductor.
That fucking sound effect is so annoying, seriously chill with the transition effects.
