@@coolegiel120 Well I kind of agree. After all we've only heard Garnt's side of the story, so of course it's going to paint the neighbour as the bad guy. I mean, if you've ever watched one of their streams, they do sound quite loud to me. Sidney especially doesn't sound like she has an "indoor voice" lol
@UChUEIKxH8F5l5tjNOpKq2Iw i have been noise sensetive my whole life and certain noises can drive me nuts, like bass music, door slaming, loud speaking more yelling then talking, if you live with those kind of loud people it can break you mentally. Appartement living you should limit your noise, not everybody likes noise. Alot of people like quiet places but those places cost alot of money, Do i think people should live like monks? Nah but people can also respect other people. Life isnt a party 24/7 And people deserve rest after a long day.
@@coolegiel120 I hear you. It's difficult to judge in this case though. Because there are certainly some people who are oversensitive. When human beings live so close to each other, some noise is unavoidable. So who knows. I'm not going to say either of them are in the right in this case.
@@kristoffer8609 i don’t think it’s hard to judge tho. No matter how much noise someone is making you can’t do shit that traumatizes them for life in retaliation. Like that’s super effed up, no justification for that. I’ve had loud ass neighbors and classmates that make so much noise they literally give me migraines, still doesn’t justify it at all. I’d understand a little more (still not enough) if they were partying a lot, but normal living noises you just have to accept as part of living in a place with thin walls, you can’t violently take “vengeance “ on your neighbors violently just because living their lives makes noise. That’s not ok, even if it’s loud it’s still their right as it’s yours, specially if they stick to the ‘no noice after 10pm’ rule, that’s just life, life is noisy
For anyone dealing with stuff liek this or wanting to move out, there's usually a thing in your contract that says you can ask to cancel it half way through. Me and my housemates did that, the house was really bad and the rent was high -_-
I had the opposite problem of Garnt's. Neighbors that would always be blasting music, to the point the walls were vibrating. All day, late at night, we talked several times and they didn't care, while management didn't solve anything either. I ended up buying a white noise machine to keep my sanity before eventually leaving that hell hole.
step 1) buy the biggest subwoofer you can find and and an amp that can drive it step 2) mount it to whatever wall that neighbour is (or ceiling in garnt case) step 3) blast death metal at max volume right before 10pm every day step 4) profit
I had a similar neighbour who was also my landlord and he would call me to complain about the noise from my dishwasher in the evening...but he would blare out his music from 11am-9pm almost everyday...I will never live with a landlord again 🤦🏼♀️
Used to have upstairs neighbors that decided to build an entire balcony with a hammock and everything on our roof. No noise isolation on said roof, we could hear everything, especially the drills. Sadly forced us to move out of the house we've lived in for more than a decade.
God I feel that story so much. A neighbour of mine started, after we lived there for 1,5 years already, to do some really weird shit out of nowhere. Like putting a piece of cardboard on my step-dads car with the words "This person is looking into other apartments from outside to steal from them", ripping out the name shield from our letter box and threatening to call the police, even though we never got louder than in the time prior to the cardboard incident. Aftermath was, she never called the police and never talked to us again, about being too loud or in general, lmao
I had a neighbour like that who kept waking me up in the early hours of the morning banging on my bedroom wall because I was “making too much noise”. My housemate would wake up if a mouse farted she was such a light sleeper and she didn’t hear anything. They threaten to call the police and the council, she said the neighbour on the other side had let her in to their house at 2am to check they weren’t making the noise (I think not). So I gave up being polite and told her to just do it, we weren’t doing anything wrong. Apparently the previous tenants had been really bad for making noise and playing loud music at all hours so apparently she decided to terrorise us as a preventative measure.
This is sadly my general experience with share homes. You just end up with people that don't understand that they're in a share home. Activity from lots of people makes noise. Also from my experience? Bro we're in LONDON. There's always noise. Leave the city. Live in a hole. Just don't live here! You'll never be happy unless you live out in the Pennines or the Moors with how quiet you want it. Another issue was people that would complain to the Landlord and make up shit to blame me on. Like I could be at work all day and come home, and right after the Landlord would be there going "so there's been a complaint in regards to what you did today."
My downstairs neighbors hit their own ceiling /our floor to warn us to be quiet.. and when they feeling extra fancy they bang on the heating radiators which achoes throughout the all floors of the building.. Basically they end up making more nose then us. Because of their bs I don't listen to music nor dare to laugh or basically anything as I know they will make a scene. My brother while a kindergartenr fell of his bed, it was funny.. and they called police and filed noise complaint. When police came my parents were so scared and confused since my two older siblings weren't home. Like dude..
Had a similar neighbor. A retired director of some metal work factory who had a bunch of burn scars on his face and who would always make a point to say he used to carry heavy steel blocks all day long. But ALWAYS found reasons to complain. Our walls weren't thin by any definition, but he had to be just listening closely to hear anything. He would bang on the door at least 5 times a week, sometimes when I was sleeping (so no noise was even made). Plus always tried to show of some dominance when you walked by him, he used to puff his chest and shoulders up so YOU had to squeeze to past by.
My grandmother has been dealing with an upstairs neighbor which reminds me of this guy. It's an ex-teacher and she and my grandmother shared numbers when she moved in many years after my grandmother got her place (it's like a two story house essentially). This woman would text her incessantly (and I'm talking entire essays here) about the washer/dryer which my grandmother was using during the day. Not only that, but any noise after 10 would be followed by a Text or her stomping. The TV was an issue. The neighbor would put a speaker on max and then leave to go shopping. Any kind of music my grandmother played would be a problem. Eventually the neighbor got the police and a lawyer involved. And this just saddens me immensely... Like none of the things my grandparents are doing is all that loud. All the noise complaints ended up with the police siding with my grandmother. But the whole lawyer thing is really putting a strain on my grandparents. Especially since that house is so nice otherwise.
I don't know, I have had very loud neighbours, too. All other neighbours and me would regularly call the police on them. They abused drugs and randomly screamed at 2pm daylight, in full volume, and threw around furniture. During lockdowns in a 52 appartment complex, such a neighbour was a true neighbour from hell. I was close to tears a few times.
Honestly I feel like this was a thinly veiled racially charged situation. I know the exact type, angry older guy who won’t say it outright because in his time it was considered rude to be openly racist so he covers it up by finding excuses to harass and scare you. But also in the UK I guess you’re not as afraid to confront people, without the constant threat of guns.
Some mofos are nuts enough to talk shit even when their neighbor is holding a gun in plain view. There’ll always be people who are just too dumb or arrogant to back down.
Same experience with neighbors, but I wasn’t as mature as Garnt, I just followed the Connor advise, luckily even though the neighbor had family in the police they couldn’t do anything because I wasn’t making noise in the hours that noise complaints could be made, except for one time when she made a noise complaint when we were in another state and the house was empty
I had a neighbor who stole our ferrets. She put a hand written letter through our letter box pretending to be someone called "Mr.Lawe" who was a lawyer saying that we were abusing our animals (we definitely weren't) and the RSPCA was on their way. Never saw the ferrets again. Before that she tried to lure our golden retriever to her place with treats to kidnap her. Creepiest fucking person I've ever met, worst thing is our houses were terrace houses, so every house on the street was connected to each other, including the gardens which had a path going through each garden with a communal gate at the end, so we saw her occasionally go into our garden to snoop around. Even saw her once try to open our gate, probably an attempt to take the ferrets.
That guy.... He'd hate living in an apartment building with me. I don't have anger issues but I have definitely ended up screaming and crying at the top of my lungs for random reasons. I applaud your zen lol
It's always the upstairs neighbors somehow. My current ones have a child who likes to run non-stop as late as 2am. I tried talking directly to them, then the management staff, and it wasn't until I started calling the police (which who wants to call the police for a child running?! But I was so sleep deprived!) that it started to go down significantly in frequency. It happens sporadically throughout the day. Someone upstairs also has the heaviest footsteps of all the land that frequent throughout the night and I ended up buying noise canceling headphones after not getting proper sleep for ages. My contract is up, and my one friend has said, "well, if you move, you could be in a worse situation and at least you know what you're dealing with." The only real reason I'm not moving is I moved twice in the last year, the last place having surprise mice. Maybe I should just live in a forest, in a cave.
One of my friends also had one of these neighbors downstairs that make loud noises to complain about "noise," since his wife has this condition that makes her sensitive to sudden sounds. Not only would they mistook other noises for my friend, but they would also literally bang on the ceiling in the middle of the night because the bed shook for a tiny bit. I mean I kinda understand but if you can't take any sort of noise why the hell would you live on the first floor of an apartment building? The guy apparently holds a pretty senior-level position at one of the tech companies. The managers couldn't do anything about it so my friend eventually had to cave in and move. Btw, my friend lives in the Bay Area where moving is hella expensive.
bro if u live in a sharedhouse/apartment you should expect some type of noise. ive been living in an apartment for 7 years and i never notice the noise i've gotten used to it . only time i notice it is when a guest gets freaked out by it
If you're neighbors are going to be unreasonable and call any sound at all loud, might as well just be fucking loud. Like large stereo system at midnight loud. Like "Oops, i forgot I had that airhorn, let's empty it out" loud.
This story is like a similar to the case with angry neighbor yelling in anger for noise, luckily garnt had it easy because the other guy had a machete in hand and was ready to commit murder towards his neighbors.
I had a terrible neighbor. She would scream and yell some nights or mornings for who knows what reasons, threaten me and other neighbors minding our own business one day she finally snapped broke out her own windows and moved out. Because the family that actually owns it wanted her to leave legally. Her final departure was that. Thankfully she's out of our neighborhood. She would also damage the place, punching the walls etc from what i heard from others. Kinda believe it now after the window thing.
I had a nightmare neighbour who dug around for who my landlord was, which at the time was my mam, and proceeded to send letters detailing all of the times that I was loud. The only thing that put us on to her being fucking mental was the fact that I lived by myself, and the dates and times when I was apparently being noisy were all when we were on a family holiday, so the house was completely vacant. She thought that my landlord wouldn't know I was on holiday and was hoping to get me evicted while I was on holiday.
The only thing im thinking the entire time is "if i was in the crazy guy place i would have just worn earplugs if just the sound of talking triggered me in this way...", But i guess there are people who prefer to make other peoples life difficult for fun
NO WAY I just finished dealing with the exact same thing. I was in the basement and there was a couple living upstairs. I couldn't have friends over or even play fifa without this guy going off. Now I never want to share a space ever again
So crazy listening to this. I had a neighbor just like garnt when i was 19 and it was total hell.. if anyones interested this is the story. I move into new aprtment complex in florida, and soon meet my downstairs neighbors a insane old woman and her husband in their 50-60s~ directly below me. She insisted that i was stomping, so she would bang her ceiling in "retaliation" with what sounded like a broomstick. This first happened the first week i moved in and unfortunately i signed a 1 year lease. I worked 60 hours a week and only would only come home sleep, wake up and leave but she would bang her broomstick while i was in bed, or if i was sitting still on the couch doing nothing fpr hours. she was legitimately insane. The broomstick banging would continue literally everyday until i moved out, despite my busy schedule and lack of activity. I never had friends over a single time because of her. On rarer occasions I'd be sitting on my balcony, on the 4th story and she would stand on the ground and shout up to me calling me a crackhead, to stop stomping and to stop harassing her..... Iv never done crack or any hard drugs. I smoked weed out there a few times which mustv been what set her off? I stomped one night for real in retaliation and only time ever back at her, and it was near the end of my lease. she came up to my door banging "fbi open up"! "open up drug addict!" various obscenities and banged on my door for an hour straight to which i just ignored till it went away. I did have a convo with the womens husband just before moving out in the hallway we ran into eachother. Out of fear just running into him i backed away put my hands up and said I dont want trouble im moving out right now, but to my suprise the man actually apologized for his wife and said that he knows the walls are thin and that im not stomping etc and we had an alright conversation. I informed him im the quietest upstairs neighbor ever, how i never had people over etc and let him know hes in for hell with whoever moves in after me if they have a life
Omgod I had a roommate JUST like that. This one girl on my floor opened the door to the toilet and this dude just started yelling "WTF. OMG ITS EVERY NIGHT WITH YOU" bruh. It was like 10pm. He'd shout whenever I WALKED in my own room
Him: "This is what you get for making noise and talking loud!" Him: "Well...got nothing to say?" Me: "I was just wondering what I would get for a mix of thrash metal and Russian dubstep every night just before 10pm at max volume. They've got these new subwoofers now that make you feel...ooohh...just like you're right on the front row...."

Anyone who is going to live in students halls in the upcoming months, I pray you all get decent housemates.
fucking hell, dude that sucks, i guarantee you that those guys were spoiled af or have no parents
Glad Garnt was a monk, or it would of escalated fast.
Would've*
"you don't know who you're dealing with here, I was a fucking monk, I'm fucking zen right now." the most bad ass come back ever!
People like that are gonna be miserable no matter what
Not so sure.. sometimes assholes triumph
electro vision background
poor garnt props to him for being the bigger man the whole time I've seen the same situation play out with lesser men and it never ends well
"You don't know who you're dealing with... I was a fucking monk, I'm not gonna punch you"
Best phrase of the video... But god, what a neighbor he got there xD
My neighbor is elderly, blind and deaf. Guess i got lucky.
Plot twist:
Gant:
You don't know who you're dealing with
*Proceeds to teach the man about compassion*
Sits there with man in lotus position while chanting great compassion mantra
😂😂😂
that guy sounds like a ticking time bomb, i'm glad Garnt got away from him
i can see from both sides tho, having good neighbors that dont slam with doors or make noise all night is just best thing for somebody mental health, some people arent aware how extreme loud they actually are.
do i think it needs become violent no, but i do understand its very distracting to hear you're neighbor everyday making noise.
@@coolegiel120 Well I kind of agree. After all we've only heard Garnt's side of the story, so of course it's going to paint the neighbour as the bad guy.
Maybe him and Sidney were being unreasonably loud, or maybe the neighbour has issues. Impossible to say without having been there.
Alot of people like quiet places but those places cost alot of money,
Do i think people should live like monks? Nah but people can also respect other people.
Life isnt a party 24/7
And people deserve rest after a long day.
I love how Garnt's power move is "I was a monk"
Is always the Ex-Cops.
last day i would have slammed that door as hard as i could
Right as you're leaving, too, lol.
I would've blasted some music on my Bluetooth, either on my way out or literally the whole last day
Get some friends over and be as loud as reasonable, what is he gonna do,kill me?
Just heard the new episode and had to go back to this
Sounds like he may have had PTSD
Or undiagnosed misophonia. That’s what I’m thinking.
For anyone dealing with stuff liek this or wanting to move out, there's usually a thing in your contract that says you can ask to cancel it half way through. Me and my housemates did that, the house was really bad and the rent was high -_-
I can imagine the pain living in that apartment from hell. That guy really have some anger issues.
Everyone gansta till Garnt starts chanting “นะโม ตัสสะ ภะคะวะโต..”
2:48 when your mom is angry and told you to go in your room and you accidently close the door too loud
I had the opposite problem of Garnt's. Neighbors that would always be blasting music, to the point the walls were vibrating. All day, late at night, we talked several times and they didn't care, while management didn't solve anything either. I ended up buying a white noise machine to keep my sanity before eventually leaving that hell hole.
step 1) buy the biggest subwoofer you can find and and an amp that can drive it
step 2) mount it to whatever wall that neighbour is (or ceiling in garnt case)
step 3) blast death metal at max volume right before 10pm every day
step 4) profit
@@NotAMathGuy Step 5) Open the door and smile as the guy realises who is is fucking with
8:57 im sure he is NOT happy now, who knows his next neighbor will be like, imagine two of him live next to each other
I had a similar neighbour who was also my landlord and he would call me to complain about the noise from my dishwasher in the evening...but he would blare out his music from 11am-9pm almost everyday...I will never live with a landlord again 🤦🏼♀️
Where I live in London the noise is so bad abs the walls are thin and I always hear banging and everything
That dude is the type of person to come stomping down when you're watching A Quiet Place.
"you don't know who you're dealing with here. i worked at the BBC"
I'm surprised you didn't lose it, man being a monk really has perks to keeping cool apparently. Wish there was some revenge though.
Imagine getting to know your neighbours.
This was brought to you by the New York gang.
imagine living in New York
*this post was brought to you by the poor Millenials gang*
imagine having neighbors within a 2 mile radius
this was brought to you by rural florida gang
Imagine socialising

That’s awful, getting a lawyer involved because of noise complaints is taking it way too far
Garnt might not be at the temple anymore, but he's SURE AS SHIT living that monk lifestyle if he didn't deck that guy that last night
If someone told me this was a subplot in the "Hell is other people" webtoon/tv show. I would believe them, despite watching the show
Honestly I feel like this was a thinly veiled racially charged situation. I know the exact type, angry older guy who won’t say it outright because in his time it was considered rude to be openly racist so he covers it up by finding excuses to harass and scare you. But also in the UK I guess you’re not as afraid to confront people, without the constant threat of guns.
Nah I think he’s just a bitter lonely old man.
Some mofos are nuts enough to talk shit even when their neighbor is holding a gun in plain view. There’ll always be people who are just too dumb or arrogant to back down.
agreed !
I think it was more a misophonia type situation
I had the same kind of neighbor from hell here in the states. I still hate being in apartments because of it.
Satan going to Garnt's neighbor after hearing this story: Here, a ticket to heaven, my Hell is very noisy
If that happens Im not going to heaven
Garnt basically did an albert from twin peaks XD
"I'm a monk. A Shao-lin monk..."
Seems like the perfect video to put a noise cancellation sponsor in it
That guy.... He'd hate living in an apartment building with me. I don't have anger issues but I have definitely ended up screaming and crying at the top of my lungs for random reasons. I applaud your zen lol
I instantly pictured the jazz instructor from Whiplash. Calm to volcanic eruptions.
This was a great clip. Laughed out loud multiple times.
If that were me, I would buy those directional speakers and aim it at the ceiling, then play the most annoying cutesy anime songs on loop.
im on the neighbors side remember garnt lives with synsnap the whole building hears her whisper 😂
This brought back some traumatizing memories
I'm convinced there are breakthroughs in the mental health field currently undiscovered relating to people with anger issues.
who else is from the newest episode lol
Lmao the sync with the Mmmhh. 0:47
Imagine Sydney going Ara Ara at this place XD
Imagine Trevor Philips from GTA V being your neighbour
Sometimes you just yank it a bit harder than you intended to - Grant 2:35
bro if u live in a sharedhouse/apartment you should expect some type of noise. ive been living in an apartment for 7 years and i never notice the noise i've gotten used to it . only time i notice it is when a guest gets freaked out by it
10:00 legaly being the key word, if they're crazy enough they might do something stupid
The fact he was part of the police is the least surprising part of this video
You got a neighbour from hell present connor.
Garnt saying “dude I was a monk” is the definition of weird flex but ok
I haven’t heard anyone having a positive life living in a hmo. It’s cheap but some shit always happens
NO WAY
I just finished dealing with the exact same thing. I was in the basement and there was a couple living upstairs. I couldn't have friends over or even play fifa without this guy going off. Now I never want to share a space ever again
Ug… sounds like my dad.
I kinda empathize with that guy. I have very good hearing and I'm always tired but I can't fall asleep when there's noise.
It says Garnt my brain still saw Garret
I had a neighbor who nearly burnt my house down twice in the span of twenty four hours.
I informed him im the quietest upstairs neighbor ever, how i never had people over etc and let him know hes in for hell with whoever moves in after me if they have a life
Garnt will connect with almost every Korean since we deal with so much vertical neighbor noises issues due to bad construction regulations
Probably could've just called the police, no way in hell he got that much power just to lie his way out
Clearly this gentleman has never seen Mister Rogers.
Omgod I had a roommate JUST like that. This one girl on my floor opened the door to the toilet and this dude just started yelling "WTF. OMG ITS EVERY NIGHT WITH YOU" bruh. It was like 10pm. He'd shout whenever I WALKED in my own room
Him: "This is what you get for making noise and talking loud!"
Him: "Well...got nothing to say?"
Me: "I was just wondering what I would get for a mix of thrash metal and Russian dubstep every night just before 10pm at max volume. They've got these new subwoofers now that make you feel...ooohh...just like you're right on the front row...."
He's going to get the wrong neighbor one day and find out
I'd have called his bluff.
That is honestly a nightmare.
You should have bought a cheap radio before you left and just put it on blast that way he would need to break in or something to shut it off
