I played 18 today and my short game was absolutely awful. I felt completely lost and I couldn't put my finger on it but you've just highlighted exactly what my problem was. Entirely too much arm swing. So glad I came across your Channel specifically this content. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! 🔥 🔥 🔥
At 4:49 he says that “on shorter shots people outswing themselves.” This is so true for me, I tend to get too lengthy in my backswing on shorter shots and it’s ruined my 30-40 yard shots. Great video!
Last week I played with one of the best senior amateurs in the country. The guy is 69 and just stripes it. What you were showing on this video is EXACTLY how he hit his wedges. He got somewhat stacked on this left side, took it back WAY shorter than me and then hit these beautiful almost little draw wedges. It was sooooo impressive.
Watch your wedge videos over & over. Relates to all of my clubs. Game has improved greatly. My weekly coaching blends into your videos. Coach reinforces your technique. He really likes my hip bump to start. It’s funny because he says to play my driver like my wedge. Hard to figure at first but it works. I line up the driver head middle of my stance and hit the ball 4” left or near my left heel. Amazing results! I still make errors but I make pure hits way more now!
This is pure gold…….so good. I was consistently chunking my wedges and this (and your comments about not letting the body move “backward” on wedge shots )has changed my wedge play so much. Loved the analysis of 7 iron swing vs wedge. Team ( video followers ): subscribe and get Porzak Golf over 100,000…….you won’t regret it!
Another great video and topic! I notice alot of good players hit all of their irons with shortish backswing and abbreviated finish. It does seem like a solid way to play.
It gets more important the shorter the club gets too, don't need as much hands, arms, power and speed with the wedges. It's about consistent loft at impact and consistent speed for consistent distance control!
The feeling for me is a high back swing to a low follow through. Makes it really easy to dial in the exact flight I want. The more exaggerated the feeling, the lower it goes.
Awesome video, very helpfull i love the wedge series on this channel. Gabe am i understanding this right, Adam is saying although the swing and club are only going lets say 3/4 thats what he feels is the full swing needed with the wedge swing, and in reality to swing a wedge full like a 7 iron is not needed?
Great explanation. Hit a high ball. Carry my 46 degree PW 130. My 50 gap wedge i max at 110 and the gapping gets worse with the higher lofted wedges. Struggled for years to "fire" my wedges on that piercing trajectory. Always thought i was flipping. (which i might be a bit) I'd get my weight on my front foot, shaft lean, middle/back of stance, and still hit a high ball that wouldn't go the expected distance. Weight forward, 1/2-3/4 swing, dead hands, torso swing. See how it goes. Thanks
Adam would you say every club in a bag you have your body turn with the club I'm sure with the driver woods and maybe five iron your arm swing would be a little longer but anything less than a five or six iron be more of a body rotation swing?
I try to keep my left shoulder higher than my right in my downswing to keep me from coming over the top. But when I do this I struggle to keep my posture hence causing toe and heel shots. Do you have a video on this?
I’ve been watching and absorbing your teaching. Phenomenal Applying what I’ve learned from you. I’m a five handicap and I shot 69 yesterday thank you my man
Adam you never mention it to your students or in any of your tutorials but having watched you very closely I notice that you strengthen your left hand position on the handle when hitting flighted wedges which is consistent with de-lofting the club is it something you do intentionally or is it idiosyncratic.

Thanks Damon, glad the vids and instruction are helping!
The wedge swing with the 7 iron saves me here in Scotland.
I love that!
More body in the swing, that’s the feels when your hitting golf shots!!! 👊🏾😎
Thanks Marcel, use that core!
The other thing I felt a real change is keeping my elbows more narrow. This videos are pure gold
I come back and rewatch this video every few weeks and I immediately start hitting my wedges better. One of your best vids.
The golf swing is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated 👑
Lots of value rewatching, you can learn something new every time!

Your golf insight is something else. Seriously. Great work.
Finally someone shows the way to hit low control wedges thanks

Easiest instruction on wedges I've ever watched 👀 thanks

Thanks Trevor for sharing, that's a great idea! Maybe a few viewers can read your comment and try that! Thanks for the comment and support!
awesome coach
Thanks Urojoe!!

Amazing wedge videos !
Thanks Mr Golf Instructor nobody explains shot like you. Keep it up I’m thinking I should start mailing you my weekend winnings.
We will leave our Venmo information in your messages 😉🤣
Everything you say applies to me. Far too often it’s long arms and it all gets lost behind me. Fabulous content.

Very informative and logical. Thank you!
Great vid. Engaging the body more is great down the line but will you lose feel without using the hands as much.
Love you channel by the way 👍
Thanks Mark, glad you enjoyed the video! Appreciate the comment and support!
Luke needs that
Tell him to come watch:):)
Thank you!
Thanks Darleen, glad you liked the video, thanks for the comment!

What is more important with wedges line or distance?
Does this technique work on longer irons and drivers? At least the take way part…
I’ve been watching and absorbing your teaching. Phenomenal
Applying what I’ve learned from you. I’m a five handicap and I shot 69 yesterday thank you my man
Let’s gooooo!!
Are you using this "tossing" method for chip shots less than 30 yards also?? Just curious.
Keep the hands in front of the sternum and drive the turn with the lower body.
Great content. Quick question. So if I try to do a full swing with a wedge, I should try to keep it no more than let say, 9 o’clock?
We like to think of a 3/4 swing as the full wedge swing
Oh okay. So with that being said. What would be considerably an average distance for a 58 wedge? 80yrds?
is the general difference in pitching and chipping how far you take the club back?
Kind of, probably best differentiated by the length and characteristic of shot, chip generally shorter, on the green longer.
If you sugest using a wedge swing for a 9i , what swing do you for an 8i for a 120y vs 90y knockdown?
8 iron and down are all very similar!
So you're saying basically to not swing your 7 iron like a pitching wedge Or vice versa
Here before a million subs.
Love it, we’ll keep rising!!

It only looks that way because my hands get closer to my body and I grip way down on the club… I still hold it in the exact same position in my hands!
2.16 Min. What do you mean with typical 3/4 Swing? Do you only Swing 3/4 on Wedges or on all the Irons too?
All
I have always pop flied my wedges. Even if i try this I still pop fly them. Not quite sure other than a lesson what to do lmao
👍👍👍
Appreciate you Mark!
Can you guys stop hitting me
lmao!
