Cool tutorial! You could use this if the person doesn't connect to the internet and they get the highscore, then the highscore saves as a non-cloud variable, and then when internet is detected again, the highscore saves to the cloud.
Just some fine tunes: 1st) You’ve built a DoS attack!! Your forever loop is requesting the translation server 30 times every second! (Or even more if you activate turbo mode.) You should put a “wait” inside that loop (I recommend to wait 0.5s). 2nd) A programming gold rule is never ever use if-then-else with a negative condition, it makes the code confusing. Remove the “not” and invert the blocks. 3rd) It really makes no sense to hide and show the sprite. The show block is in both “then” and “else” blocks, so it could be outside. Even so, it’s performed 0.0333s after the sprite has been hidden. So it makes no sense at all.
Please note: It might get you temp/perm ban from google translate (google search is not included unless you're in computer room that have 50 guys searching google)
This is helpful, but your subs are underrated but I hope you get overrated in the future. might be the next griffpatch. you helped me do an internet detector thank you!
doesn’t work. once you translate, it gets saved temporarily so if I translated “hello” to Chinese on Wifi and disconnect, it would still say the translation. also I’m pretty sure with enough requests g translate will block requests

Nice idea! You could also maybe use this for kicking players off multiplayer games :)

This is genius! I never knew making something like this could be so simple.
Glad you like it!
You can also use the translate blocks repeatedly to get the internet speed as well.
coool!
its not exactly the internet speed it still takes time to process the text and translate it
@@cheesepop7175 it's still pretty accurate
how what
@@koniistarr You translate a random number 1000 times and then you do some math to get the final speed.

@@khaleel898 uhhhh
I believe you could also make a variable, set it to a random value. Then, set a cloud variable to it. If they are not equal, internet is not detected.
cool method! :D
@@TheSTEAMist I tried the method, and surprisingly, it doesn't work! Scratch can still access cloud servers even if the internet is off! Shocking!
