I was married to a woman who’s grandfather was the best fast pitch pitcher ever. His name was Norbert Warken. Still hold numerous records.

Wondering if this was Stofflet's final game? 1995 was his last season at age 55. In contrast, Moore was 15 years younger for this game.

How the hell do four umps not see a ball fouled off? Much better with the sound off. Love the 100MPH comment......in a 40 and over....lol, I would be surprised if either is breaking 70. Stofflet looks pretty slow. But man, is the ball moving.

Moore was quick but not he fastest, his greatness came from his movement and pitch placement. He had arms like an orangutan. I got to play a game against him and the Legends in 1998 or so. I was 0-2 in that game (he threw a perfect game against us) but in my 2nd at bat I ripped line drive into the gap in left-center only to have the center fielder make a diving catch in the gap. Those guys were all over 45 but could still ball. Jimmy tipped his cap to me and said "Nice hit" as I trotted back to the dugout. I felt like it was a successful at bat, making solid contact off of a true HOF fastpitch pitcher even if it was an out.

When has a line drive caught in the outfield ever been something to celebrate , you were out , get to the dug out boy .

They mean 100mph relative to the 60ft baseball distance. 70mph is roughly 95-ish in baseball.

You do know MLBs pitching rubber is 60'6". Now what's the distance in softball? 40'6"...do the math equivalent...still got something to say?

Throw from 46 feet not 40 all I stated was the fastest softball pitcher throws in the 80s what are you trying to say!

@@barrydixon1883 the elapsed time it takes from the the release of the ball till it crosses home plate.
The softball will reach the plate quicker. Hence less reaction time. That is my point. Irregardless to the mass of the ball being larger more affected to movement and the ball has a different trajectory because of the underhand delivery.
Case in point: after the 1977 season was over. Reggie Jackson came on Johnny Carson's show and took 3 pitches from our then champion women's fastpitch pitcher. Reggie struck out.
Eddie Feigner struck out WillyMay's, Harmon Killebrew and I believe Willie McCovey in row in the 1967 Legends and stars celebrity all star softball game. It's available on TH-cam.
