@@ItllBeFun Indeed you are! I am not entirely sure but it seems that the paper work etc for bringing a dog to a EU country is more or less the same for the member countries. If so, I remember that in Spain we had our dog registered and every year the local vet would stamp his vaccine card (actually it was more like a passport that contained his micro chip number), and as long as he never had an overdue shot he could travel back and forth without all the paperwork hassle. Might be worth checking that. Also if the dog is registered in the city hall they take care of him when he deceases.

Hi guys I’m currently living in BC Canada but I am a Swiss citizen as well,as I immigrated to Canada 25 years ago via marriage,and raising our family here. But because of the weather, freezing and long winters and now fires 🔥 almost every summer I was researching to move back to Europe especially to a warmer country in Europe.Which brought me to Portugal because of all the pros that we all appreciated. I was really loving all the videos and blogs about Madeira and decided to tack a vacation trip to the island.Two years later after the world was some what back to normal I went last month for a week,while in Switzerland visiting my mother. I was very surprised how touristy it is ,yes I know it was high season but I heard that from other people visiting during other times of the year. Also found it very noisy and densely populated ! 1st Question : When you were researching places to move to why didn’t you consider living on the mainland of Portugal? 2nd Question don’t you find Madeira very touristy,noisy and over populated, especially Funchal? Hello and if I can add one viewers humble opinion, I think you're onto something. I've lived in Hawaii, Key West, the Caribbean, with seasonal residences on the Vineyard and Bar Harbour. Islands are indeed special places and tourists find them. I do worry that Madeira has been discovered. How do they maintain the local culture when swarms of outsiders move in? It's a difficult balance at best. In time, unless something is done, it will become "Paradise Lost." And please don't shoot the messenger 🙂

While on a tear about islands I neglected to mention the one we're living on currently--- the island of Manhattan!!! An island that recently saw an end to its "Golden Age" only to descend into a dystopian nightmare of disfunction, depravity and utter lawlessness. For centuries it was a city that welcomed everyone but these days. diversity, hate and a lack of common respect for decency has brought about societal breakdown. It's a fate I pray Madeira avoids. A culture it seems, needs to agree on on certain values for it to flourish.
As a newly married couple my wife & I moved from the NE of England to Vancouver Island where we still reside today 50+ years later, I guess you could say your never too young!
I am so looking forward to going to Madeira Island,.Hopefully in another 3 to 4 years. I actually think I will buy a Vespa scooter, I don"t think I need a car. I am originally from The Netherlands and I am used to small roads. It will be not so hard I think for me to get around on a Vespa. I am 72 right now, when I will move I will be 77, still, I think I can do it. (hopefully) 🤩. In the meantime, I will follow your video's on the foot so to say. Watched some of your videos & others on this beautiful place. Am now here for 2 weeks ending on the 29th. As much as it’s so beautiful and not too expensive I wonder how /if retirees manage to walk the pavements on this hilly space …? Unless you live in a rare flat space here… I didn’t here anyone mention that. I walk my dog daily for quite a bit , and here I’m just out of breath in short time.

Construction building them started shortly after the island was discovered. I'd probably want one as well. As for pets, ours were micro-chipped for commuting to Amsterdam and believe me, there are bureaucrats that take all this red tape seriously. On a lighter note, we replayed Leslie's "twirl" a number of times. Now there's a lady who's light on her feet. Serena Williams ain't got nothing on that twirl. Yep, that's right.
Ola Admin Desk, You would have to bring up the twirl. That was Wolf's doing. On another note most Americans can not even imagine life without a car. Other than a few big cities we really do not have great public transportation. So we never learn to use it either. Whenever people ask about pets we tend to tell them that in a way it is harder to get all the documents, doctors appointments and stuff than getting our VISAS together. Love the run on sentence! Dog bite hospital cost 'reasonable'. Can you mention actual prices when talking about stuff. Her 'reasonable' might not be my 'reasonable'. $50 or $500 or $5000 would be numbers some of us have in our mind when we hear that term. Same for other stuff too. Just throw out an actual number. We can do the math to our local currency. I know sometimes prices 'age' so $100 in 2022 might sound weird by someone watching in 2027 but I think we all can still make the relative connection.
