    A happy, safe and prosperous new year to you too. Love the Gerry cans rack. perhaps a small tool box in between, and a wire mesh floor ? What about mud flaps for the front wheels as you may get a bit messy in rain or snow/slush. Take it easy and try not to stress. Oh ! and please, not the Ali G one piece bathing suit !!!!! God bless.

    This thing looks awesome, the proportions are great, body doesn’t look out of place, I like the jerry cans. Perfect pub cruiser / terrain weapon. Cheers from Sydney, Australia.

    Use an angle bracket bolted to the unused tow ball bolt holes to support the box at the rear.

    I’m glad you’re feeling a bit better. I’m sure I speak for all of us that your health is more important than content. We’re here when you’re ready. To comment on the video I’m really not sure about the Jerrycan thing. It feels like a quick fix / compromise. Is there any way you could incorporate a spare wheel instead? I know they’re huge but to me it feels a step worth taking. But you da man. Take care Al

    • @HudsonAutoFilms

      Thanks Al! Appreciate the support! The wheel idea was something I’d hoped would work out. But I mocked it up and it looked ridiculous. Hard to explain, but it didn’t work with the body lines of the car at all! Take care!

    Instantly does a good job of visually tricking your eye into ignoring that massive protrusion of the rangey chassis at the rear. Job well done.

    Honestly I hoped you would get rid of the Jerrycan bracket and make a spare wheel carrier Dakar style, where the wheels protrude from the back. But I can see this means cutting more from the Aston body and even the perfect boot and bumper.

    • @HudsonAutoFilms

      It’s a nice idea and one i considered. But yes the cutting is a lot… and I did some mock ups and it looked awful. I had hoped it would work, but the proportions of the car just didn’t suit it

    Hi. If you plan to go cross country journey, you probably need some locking solution for jerry cans against theft and jerry cans lids too.

    • @HudsonAutoFilms

      Indeed, I’ve got locking ratchets which will secure them. Obviously someone could cut a strap…but only so much you can do!

  • @JamieBainbridge

    Cool solution. Don't worry about Pinto jokes, most 70s cars had the fuel tank in the same place. Hope you have some good days soon mate, or at least less bad ones :)

    • @HudsonAutoFilms

      Thank you mate! I think most of the time they’ll be empty too! You don’t often need extra fuel driving around town!!

  • @claudiomarsala4949

    Seeing you have an issue with the wheel arches not aligning with the wheel base , would it not have been a better fix by extending the rear 1/4 panels to hide and help the wheel arch issue you currently have and it would have given you extra space in the trunk area rather than a couple of unsightly fuel tanks. Probably less welding to.
    Just an observation.

    Do you think a gap between the frame and the rear bodywork of the car will be needed? They will rub together otherwise wont they?

    • @HudsonAutoFilms

      There’s a bit of play, so I can get up to a CM of space. I think that, combined with a rubber strip will keep things from rubbing where you don’t want them to!

    I'm genuinely concerned about incorporating the Ford Pinto's most notorious feature with those fuel cans. I prefer not having you meet a horrible end due to someone rear ending the car. What about an ice cream or popcorn dispenser instead? It would be novel.

    Looks, great! I do have a question, for some reason I thought you mentioned a full size spare in a previous video. If not above the tow hitch, then do you have a location in mind for it? Although, you did leave enough space between the jerry cans to stick a spare tire stud to hang one off of.

    • @HudsonAutoFilms

      It was an idea! But after some mocking up, it looked really bad…I was quite surprised. It messed with the whole look of the car. BUT… I haven’t fully dismissed it, and the additional space on the rack will be tested with a spare!

    • @sickbozzer
