  • We are kicking off Season 3 of Shut the Front Door with Aidan Quigley, the owner of Ireland's most haunted house, Loftus Hall. Aidan and his brother Shane purchased Loftus Hall back in 2011 in a derelict state, and have since brought it back to life. The property is FASCINATING, with 22 bedrooms, 63 acres of land and its own private beach.
Situated on the picturesque Hook peninsula in Co Wexford, this Georgian mansion is steeped in history and folklore. Over the years, locals have said the property is haunted by the devil and the ghost of a young woman.... so what better time to release this recording than on Hallowe'en itself. We have spoken to many guests on our podcast about their homes, but this is a conversation like no other...
Shut The Front Door is produced by @venturamarketing.ie | www.VenturaMarketing.ie.

What a fabulous looking home, with a very interesting history. Love how this video presented that to us in such an informative and educational way. No sensationalism. I take my hat off to the Quigleys for taking such an interest in its restoration and history. I wish the current owners, and any future ones every success. I hope to visit some day.

Hopefully new owners respect 🫡 and lady Anne comes out of her zzzzz from her tapestry and we admire and acknowledge we did wrong but now put things right . First off Lady Anne’s Estate is name of Estate and secondly my Estate is for my local peoples of Wexford,

Kept an eye out for it but sweet jesus it wasnt hard to miss. God help that poor wee kid and his or her mum. Ireland can be magical but can have its dark sides like everywhere. Would not sleep in this place if i was paid to though and would doubt if id ever go inside. Be great if ya loved the paranormal stuff. Someone thats into that could renovate it and have night stays for people lookin to be scared shitless lol im sure they'd make a fortune

I’m a descendant of Adam Loftus, in addition to having a tremendous love for history and fascination with all things paranormal, so this was a real treat. I’m glad it’s being looked after so the history is preserved and folks can visit it. It’s definitely on my list of places to go to once I get a chance to travel to the area.

My mother lived in Loftus Hall as a young teenager with the nuns just before she herself became a nun. It's a shame she's passed away and I can't ask her all the questions I now have about this place. I hope to be able to visit inside some day and see the amazing staircase that she must have surely polished. We did visit from outside the gate back in October. Even that was amazing it is in such an isolated place. It was quite an emotional visit with my brother and husband to think that's where our mother spent some of her time. Is it true that the staircase is one of three that exist one being in the Titanic one in the Vatican and one in Loftus ? This is what I've been told.

My mate visited here during the tour's. These stories of people witnessing paranormal activity.
My mate told me most of the Time it's in people's heads. Mind playing tricks. When he was there he didn't notice any paranormal activity what's so ever. He did say he heard a few floor board's creaking. But then that's normal in old houses.

    • @susancouderc359

Thats because the staircase was made by the same people and is one of only there that exist. There is one staircase in the Vatican one at the bottom of the sea in the Titanic and one in Loftus Hall. My mother lived in Loftus with the nuns before she became one. 🙂

There's a lot of history, which the owner knows, but his delivery is stilted and piecemeal.
Granted he's not a professional tour guide. However. If he water to obtain a grant to restore an architecturally significant structure, he needs to do better.
