I play this game every year at Christmas, always will , it's like tradition now. Has to be one of the most beautiful enjoyable games I have ever had the pleasure to play , I hope if Sqaure -enix ever decide to remake this game they can do a decent job like the old Sqauresoft team did for this game.

chrisliam2 - One of my first games when I bought my PS1 as a kid. I remember the day quite well. I bought Metal Gear Solid, Parasite Eve, and Xenogears. Have to say this was my favorite of the 3. Since then I played more times then I can count. Still do to this day. Also love the sequel and I tend to play both back to back.
OMG me too, I thought I was the only one to do that. It's something about playing the game around the same time period where it starts, I guess because of the cold freezing weather / christmas lights and then playing this to make it feel like you're actually in the game
The music from the final duel with Eve makes me a bit depressed in a really strange way. I think both Aya and Eve were somewhat reluctant to do what they needed to do; destroy one another. I might be wrong but I've thought from the very beginning that the only reason Mitochondrial Eve let the protagonist live was because she was convinced Aya would eventually take the side of the mitochondria and commit to the evolution, rather than intending to save the humanity from being wiped out. Not to mention Eve has always been one with Maya and even if Aya did not know or remember her, she must have loved her as a sister and when Mitochondrial Eve emerged in Melissa's body, it was somewhat as if Maya has come to life. I can only imagine how twisted and sorrowful Aya would have to had felt while fighting someone who was -- in a way -- her own sister, or at least a small remain of it. I know I am probably trying to convince myself that Eve isn't as sinister as she actually is, but I still can't stop thinking that these two heroines had in fact a connection that cannot be compared to any other.
Deep and good analysis indeed. However close (or far) their positions may be (talking about Aya and Eve), their ways are really different, and that alone says a lot about them. As if they were the two faces of a coin: there is a resemblance but they never face the same direction in the end.
It's an excellent explanation and much my same conclusion but the Chrysler Bldg holds events that are quite relevant to what you were saying. If you haven't already it's worth the climb.

I remember watching my aunt play this when I was 6 years old. I got to watch a rat's skin peel off and bleed but I thought it was amazing!!!
actually it is a real singer's voice, shes even credited, forgot her name though, u can hear her in a better quality in the CM version of this song, but in the game itself they had to reduce to quality of the sound so they synthesized the vocals and made into what you hear.
There actually is a version of both Influence of Deep and Se Li Mio Amore Sta Vincino (The Opera song where everyone starts to combust) included with the official sound track that uses a real singer. I'm pretty sure if you look up the songs on TH-cam with -Cm Version- I'm sure they'll pop up. There's no Femme Fatales that I'm aware of though.

Eve reminded me of sephiroth and aya reminded me of cloud for some reason but i love this theme its like you were in aya's place and you'd face eve and be like "this is no ordinary situation?" Lol
The 1st Parasite eve is so awesome game. I've been fan of Resident evil and Silent hill series. this game has so great story, music custcenes and battle system. if compare to resident evil all enemies and bossed scary but slow and difficlult to fight due camera anlge changes. In PE you have complete view of enemy and develope your tactic to defeat them. I rememeber that i spent hours an n umerous tries to defeat Final boss in day 6. As i remember i completed japaneese verision. After English ver release i find out about Final chapter in Chrysler. i tried to defeat Final eve fo so many times but never been sucessfull. Almost each hit combo of bos instant Death. One of my gave me advice to complete one mere time to get more full recovery and auto revive items, as well i manage to get 99 lv and finaly been ready to boss. I aske my friends who plied this game and ow one were defeat Final eve. Tha evening i invited few friends to my place an show last boss how difficult it is. I thought they will advice some tactics. I playd first round and lost. One friend give advice nad changing skills in armor and weapon I tried and finaly defeat eve. It was Super exciting. In didn't believe thaty defeat it. I told some of my other frien about my success and few friends didn't beleive me. Old times luck of cameras, smartphones and screen recoding. I prepared to show my experience and make fight agian. It was easier then before. Friends been suprised. After that moment i liked to beat EVE from time to time. I bee very dissapointed about PE2,. due they move all engine and battel system to Resident evil. controls af character definetely

You can pick up some extra healing supplies from the other guy that's not Wayne on the ship when you start the last day. Wayne's also there if you have anything in storage you can pull out for the UB fight.
