My mom taught me to knit, embroider, crochet, and do crewel work when I was very little in the 70s. I didn't really start knitting seriously until 2016, though, when I decided I wanted to knit socks. Now I don't go anywhere without a project.
My aunt taught me when I was young....maybe 5th grade. I made a few basket weave scarves, but not until I made a baby blanket in 2016 did I really get the Continental rhythm down and my knitting took off. Covid allowed me to knit more, also.
@@purledintexas851 I'm debating on whether to go this year. It's really fun but if you come be sure to look at the weather or (like I do) wear rain boots. It's on the fairgrounds so may be.muddy.
I buy most of my patterns on Ravelry as PDF files and then save them in my Books on my iPad. I can magnify the section I’m on and place on a stand to free my hands. I’ll also draw check marks to keep track of rows or underline repeats, put stitch counts after certain sections, etc. Then when I’m finished, you can erase the markings or maybe save the row counts if u plan on knitting it again. No paper to carry around, just, open your iPhone if u are out of the house.
I'm definitely the knitter that just knits what I'm up for next. Not too much of a planner unless it's a gift for someone. I enjoyed your questions and hearing your answers to each one! I can't even imagine a sweater in size 0 needles!!! I think you can finish it! Thank you for your video!
Sometimes a project just doesn’t come out as you envisioned it. That are my WIPs, as I just can’t decide if I can live with it or have to frog. I think with Elizabeth’s last pink project, I would have frogged after a week of knitting. The yarn is beautiful, but the contrast is too much. I would stripe the two or maybe add mohair to tone it down, etc. Maybe a pale color with speckles of pink would work with it striping. Elizabeth has such a classic style and it doesn’t go with her style.
