Your videos are always wonderful. What kind of hammer are you using? It seems like it already has nails loaded inside. Can I use that type of hammer for lasting the shoe?
Hi! Thank you for all the time you put into your videos. Your information is really helping. I was wondering, is there any reason why a person wouldn't cover the entire last with masking tape all at the same time? So then I can cut my left side, right side and insole piece at the same time. In my head, it would be good to use the exact same lines they are sharing. Thanks!
Thanks. When you have a symmetrical shoe design, you don't need to take left and right, one side is enough, then you just flip it with correct adjustments. About the insole, there will be too many layers, too thick and our pattern should be very precise, to be comfortable, correct? You want shoes to be comfortable and not just look comfortable. I like the concept here, and I’ve been trying to implement it! As a new shoemaker, I’ve been having trouble when transferring the tape from the last, onto the paper! I think I managed to get one pattern that works well now. Here is my question: Once you have your final draft of the basic pattern for the last, how do you use it when designing a specific pattern for the type of shoes you want to make from it? Do you tape the last again and design the shoe while on the last? Or do you simply design the shoe using only the basic pattern in its 2D form? If you do tape the last again for each new shoe style you want to design, how do you use the original basic pattern in this process? This part I did not understand. Thank you!
I am thoroughly 🙂enjoying the lessons. Great course tutor!
Thank you
I am highly thankful to you for solving getting my basic pattern problems 😀
TNX, great to know that
the explanation is so clear, thank you for your tutorial 👍
Thank you for your comment.
What do you mean by inner and outer line of shoe last, and how do you get the inner line. Thanks for the tutorial

Thank you Anthony. It's a magnetic hammer, but I only use it in pattern making. It would be hard to use it in lasting. try it and let me know :)
