      @@ErikCortina Everyone is a long range shooter now, with all the best gear. Let's do a golf ball or 12 oz soda can challenge. I've done both it's suprisingly easy/possible. I cleared 11/12 soda cans and felt bad for my friend with a 308 (40+rounds) I let him have number 12 with my mystery rifle. I'll give you a clue. Of all the fantastic 6.5's ever built. It's not the creedmoor. Of all the 6.5's... I will never understand why the creedmoor gained the following it did.

    It's a tough challenge, but you guys did awesome! It's laughable, but those "hunting" guns performed just as well as those bench queen PRS style rifles weighing a ton. For ballistic apps it's garbage in, garbage out. The data going into your ballistic apps needs to be perfect and super accurate to get the most out of it. As you've seen even a 1/2 or 1/4 inch matters. More practice will have you guys hitting that target with much greater consistency in no time. Great job! :)

      🎉 My bad that the 223 was off for the event. It’s a new rifle and was around 250rounds. My guess is it decided to settle in THAT day? It’s back to holding zero. Hayden had practiced a bunch and been very consistent (could see it when he shot the Sako…and when I shot “his” 223). Shows how important it is to stay on top of your setup. Awesome challenge. Can’t wait for the next one 😉.

    I think part of the reason you see so many misses when Erik hosts is that the wind seems to be pretty brutal at his place. If the wind was like that in the field, you either would get closer or not take the shot.

    Far play to the young lad he’ll be the boss man soon enough if he keeps practicing. But I noticed 4 bullets 4 people all stacked on each other. (First round) Maybe there needs to be 3 or 4 target as slightly different ranges and they pick a card before they shoot on what target they have. But shows hunting rifles are no different to target if your comfortable with it.

    • @bcextremeoutdoorsman
      @bcextremeoutdoorsman  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Tony, they sure have come along ways from when I was a teen. I remember doing hold overs without a range finder or a ballistics calculator of any kind, on a deer sized target made of paper. It was just for fun and we would drive away from the target and not tell each other what we figured the distance was and take some shots. I was terrible and still am at judging distances, but it was good practice. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, take and shoot straight.

    A good video. I was wondering about having the bipod feet directly on concrete like some of the shooters did. I have seen changes in POI versus having them on the soil or a shooting mat. I have also seen changes in POI in cold weather versus warm weather when most ammunition load development is done. From the equipment you guys have you must do a lot of shooting have you guys seen that too?

    • @bcextremeoutdoorsman
      @bcextremeoutdoorsman  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hi Scott and thank you. Yes my positions were not very good. I usually shoot off of a carpeted 4x8 inclined sheet of plywood. But some of the guys didn't like it, so they removed it. Next time I will replace it. If I do this challenge again with no snow I will get everyone to shoot on the grass. When I am shooting at targets that small, I do see a POI of impact change in different weather conditions. But for the most part it isn't off too much.
      Thanks again for watching and taking the time to comment, take care.
