Play wall ball every day. But also if there’s a club near you PLAY BOX LACROSSE! Best decision you’ll ever make to improve your hand/stick skills. Great video btw 👏
Thanks so much for this video. It is totally what I was looking for to share with our team. I've been out of lacrosse for 18 years so I'm trying to get back up to speed. Things have changed so much in terms of sticks.
NBAballer i live in Michigan, it's 40 degrees now but i'm serious i do it in sub below weather. If you want to succeed in life as a pro athlete you have to practice everyday
Oddly enough those defects in the wall will sharpen your reflexes more. Get down to a handball court where the surface is smooth and predictable. Good luck!
Im trying to start a boxing club but if i cant get it off the ground by this semester (my university is has these "rules") im planning in practicing a lot over the summer and hopefully make it!
Neither will make you better, instead of a rebounder i would look for a brick wall or some kind if wall to through against. A new stick will never improve the player, but how well you are able to use the stick.
Question... As a coach of beginners/young kids (and never played myself), we teach our beginners that they should catch with the top hand high (almost at the stick head) and slide it down to throw. Why does no one incorporate this hand movement into wall ball/rebounder drills (other than a quick stick drill)? I get that as you get better catching you don't need to slide your hand up as high and the it will slow down how fast you can then release the ball but shouldn't a repetitive drill like wall ball really be all about hammering into your brain the basic fundamentals? Not trying to be argumentative, just wondering why no one seems to put an emphasis on this point, especially since the ones who are watching these videos are most likely beginners. Am I doing it wrong?
Richard Fix you actually are not supposed to hold the shaft near the head as it restricts movement when you catch the ball, they should hold their top hand about just above the middle and their bottom hand not right at the bottom of the stick but about 20 cm below the top hand
When you're teaching a beginner its important to have the top hand right under the head because it makes it easier to track and catch the ball. As the player progresses they can slide their hand down the stick because it is more efficient to the throwing/shooting hand placement
I agree with Kevin Crowley. The beginner will have the most control with his hand up by the plastic. Please... encourage the young player to allow the ball to push his stick head back so that he learns to have soft hands. We definitely don't want kids snatching at the ball by moving their stick forward.
Fail routine with no work on opposite hand. I could do everything he is doing with both my right and left hands after only playing for 2 years. You should be able to switch hands and catch instead of the one hand catch or catching on a cross over. In fact, that is what you should be doing, not that crap.
Are you serious? One hand catches build eye hand coordination and improve catching skills. Of course you wouldn't use it in a game but it improves your in game skills. And plus it is also pretty much common sense to practice using both hands.
I'm so sick of TH-cam commenters saying 'you would never do that in a game.' If you've ever played an organized sport, you realize that 95% of the things you do in practice, no matter what the sport, you probably won't do in a game.
the best part is the exit sign lol someone went ham on it
lmao right
I started wall ball in 1963 after watching Jimmy Lewis do it at Uniondale High School on Long Island. We had wood sticks.
Oh damn that’s really old
I learned wall ball on a hand ball court in Massapequa on LI in the early 70s
best wall ball video I ever saw - very well done! looking forward to sharing this with the kids I coach

Awesome video and amazing stick skills! 👍🏼I’ll share this video with my teenage son
I do this 5000 times each hand every day even in 2 degree weather
Bull shit

Marvel_mercedes yeah i know i practice lacrosse and basketball everyday too, all im saying is that 5000 is a bit of an exaggeration
No actually there are people the are really serious about being and athlete and breath. Sleep. Live sports, it's possible
Bs all you want is clout
Hi had to do this at a camp... With a longpole... He made me do all of it
Daniel Robeson-Grubb Good.
I dont think you understand
I was like 11
+Daniel Robeson-Grubb But did it make you better?
Daniel Robeson-Grubb RIP 😂😂
how do you craddle like that behind your back ?
I bet that took a while to learn. I also a beginner!
I do this , my walls all weird so it will bounce all around, it helps but sometimes just wish it would come back to me so I. Can do quick stick easier
Oddly enough those defects in the wall will sharpen your reflexes more. Get down to a handball court where the surface is smooth and predictable. Good luck!
thanks for the workout Kevin. Good stuff.
incredible. Thank you
Very Good! I love Lacrosse ;D
i only have a wall that’s 7ft tall, is this too short and if so, how tall of a wall should i use
anyone got any tips on the shooting craddle? Should I be using my top or bottom hand?
nice lefty
How do you do the twisty thingy as you catch, like you are adding a full 360 into your cradle as you catch?
Did you figure it out?😭
@@EamonnOShaughnessy figure what out?
So ive never played lacrosse at all but i kinda wanna try out for my college club team. You think I have a chance??
Schäfer G. ofc if you hit the wall
Im trying to start a boxing club but if i cant get it off the ground by this semester (my university is has these "rules") im planning in practicing a lot over the summer and hopefully make it!
Schäfer G. Did you make it?
Realistically no
What do you mean do you think I have a chance it’s not like he knows you fuck face
How do you cradle it behind your back
Great video
Thank u
Good vid
Which one will make me a better player, having a better stick, or getting a rebounder?

So true
this guy a pro!
Switch to your left when it's on your left side
How far do you stand from the wall
***** i would do 30 ft because most passes are from 30 feet away. The more farther you are the ore you improve
I'm a beginner at lacrosse and I was wondering if a completely flat wall for wallball is recommend?
+Austin Seed yes, so it bounces straight back at you
Okay. Thank you!
Super
He is my coach
Mark Nick nope

Kevin Tran and Fergus Macdelord juntos en una persona

30 inches for shortstick, 60 for poles, and 40 for goalies
i believe that's a string king Mark 1 edition which I'm getting like this week loo
+Mitchell Boylan *lol
+Mitchell Boylan nah that's not a mark one but the mark one is a very amazing head! Haha

Angry douche
When you go pro you can make a video showing us how to really do it. Until then zip it punk.
@@Hugh-Jorgan um, i was on the national team douche. So above this guy. Way to make stupid assumptions, and this was posted years ago
you would never cache a ball onehanded
Yeah u would actually
Like he said "rare circumstances"
People do it more often then you would think
