    I'm tired of all this nonsense, in surrat al balad, it says that the road to heaven (wa ma adraka mal 3akaba, Fakku Rakaba) is taken by freeing slaves, feeding people during times of hardship, taking care of orphans, etc. This pompous talk is fruitless, it says in the Quran, that freeing slaves leads to going to heaven. So that should be crystal clear right?

    • @3b72
      @3b72 9 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      first im not the one cursing, so you need to grow up. second the claim was that the quran condones slavery, which it doesn't, it obviously discourages it, so it doesn't matter what muslims did have slaves or not. some muslims drink and do drugs, that doesn't mean that the quran encourages drinking and doing drugs. And please.... if you don't have something nice to say or are incapable of having a civil conversation, please don't reply to my messages

    • @jahcarlson
      @jahcarlson 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Abdelhak Mehdi
      ok, i agree with you that freeing slaves is one of the aforementioned roads to heaven, but slaves are still treated in some instances in the quran as slaves; verse 4:92 for example states that a believer who has killed a believer by mistake must free a slave as some sort of penalty-fee. like it or not, this is an explicit condonation of slavery and treats these slaves as sub-human. furthermore, and i will get the verse numbers for you if you require, there are some instances in which muhammed is reported to have condoned, and to actually himself, have sex with slave-women and women captured as prisoners in war - this is rape.
      but then you say 'but if you read further on it states that rape is wrong, slavery is wrong, etc'. and yes, i cant fault you there, but then this arouses the matter of contradiction in the quran, of which there is A LOT of. the best, and most logical way forward from here is to accept that the quran is not the word of god, as a god would not be so sloppy with his words, and then continue searching for the existence of 'god'. so far efforts have been fruitless.

    • @3b72
      @3b72 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      My friend green sage, thank you for the interesting comments (some of which i have been wondering about and will research later). I hope someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but the Quran never or doesn't explicitly abolish slavery in the script. However, from some verses one can surmise that the spirit or intention is not to condone it, otherwise why would you get good deeds for freeing slaves, and why would it be acceptable as penance for murder. I honestly can't imagine that Muslims kept slaves just in case they need a get out of jail card, but God knows best. In regards to freeing slaves as some sort of penance for killing someone, I can only say that it furthers the argument that it does not condone slavery, because it says that if you have a slave and you have committed a murder, free the slave to gain penance. It didn't say pray or meditate or reflect, or recite the Quran. It puts the freedom of a slave in a high regard. In terms of sex slaves and right hand captives, I'm sorry to say, I don't have much information on it. I would recommend you ask someone who has a deep understanding about this topic (if you are interested). Perhaps someone from this forum can help. But it is something I am willing to look into if I have the time. Thank you and best wishes.

    Do people not see the huge difference between slavery and what islam taught about treating slaves? In he time of the Prophet PBUH people had slaves, do you expect the prophet to ignore this fact or teach people how to treat slaves? He did not say have slaves, he taught those who have slaves that he cannot treat them like slaves. He cant tell them to just free the slave all the time as some of them would surely have no means of survival. He literally changed slavery to the point where it was whereby that you had to look after your servant as if youre looking after yourself.

    • @darrellsturrock5795
      @darrellsturrock5795 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      So from what you say by your own words is that the prophet (no reason for pbuh as if he is the perfect human being and the messenger of god then why wouldn't he "exist" in that state....why make the request...you appear to have doubts about him existing in "peace") couldn't free slaves which means he has condoned it.

    • @saraheldan
      @saraheldan 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Darrell Sturrock do you struggle to understand basic english? Where did i question his existence. Not only did i not do so but anyone who does would be an imbecile as historians accept his existance. I believe he's a prophet of God, regardless of your beliefs, so yes i believe he is a perfect human being. And secondly, as i explained already and the video explained, the phrophet said the best thing you can do is free a slave but if people were reluctant to he abolished slavery and instead introduced a system of servant services. Honestly, you people try and compare what Islam teaches to the horrible western racist slavery. Your servant had to eat from the same food as you, wear the same clothes as you, have a right to education, couldnt be touched or abused. And if he condoned racist slavery, like you so love to wrongfully exist, why did leaders of colour against racism and slavery, such as Muhammed Ali and Malcolm X enter Islam and preach it? Please, just stop with these futile accusations and do some research. Salaam

    • @saraheldan
      @saraheldan 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Darrell Sturrock If he condoned slavery, show me one verse or hadith where he says "go get slaves". He got RID of slavery in a time where it was highly and commonly practiced. BYE

    • @saraheldan
      @saraheldan 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Darrell Sturrock omg you dont even know what phub stands for i just realised. Wow okay. PBUH means Peace and blessings be upon him. How does that mean he didnt exist??? Again, you clearly dont have enough knowledge of Islam to be judging it.

    • @darrellsturrock5795
      @darrellsturrock5795 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand what it means. My question is why someone who is so close to god needs this blessing. You seem to have doubts about how the prophet is being treated by god. YOU have doubts about god. I don't believe in god so I'm all good.

    Where Muslims F it up is in their explanation. There are two questions here: 1. "Does Islam condone/allow 'slavery'?" and 2. "Did people who call themselves Muslim capture and force non combatant/'civilians' into slavery?". The answer to the first question is NO. The exception to this is in warfare where people make unjust war against you. There are many rules within this dynamic. The answer to the second question is certainly YES. People calling themselves Muslims engaged in the slave trade and their interaction with the enslaved was not in accordance with Islam.

    • @Reason_over_Dogma

      Islam condone slavery. Which means allowed, but does it encourage slavary? No.

    • @oremfrien
      @oremfrien หลายเดือนก่อน

      Correct. This is the most important point; people who called themselves Muslims and who lived in countries which called themselves Islamic countries not only permitted slavery but expanded it. There were very few abolition movements endemic to Muslim-majority countries and a number of Muslim-majority countries that resisted abolition into the 20th and 21st centuries.
      This raises the question, if you believe Islam opposes slavery (or at least endorses individual manumission), why so many Muslims so consistently misunderstood this. Did God not make the Qur’an such that Muslims could follow its edicts?

    In accordance to Islamic shariah, slavery is allowed. It is not slavery in the tradition western sense. Our slaves are given wages. They also receive housing, clothing, food (all similar to our own) and they are given good treatment. If a Muslim treats his slave badly, he is required to release his slave and give them compensation in the form of wealth.

    • @holdshiftt2run308
      @holdshiftt2run308 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I guess you can say that. But even if we called them slaves it is true. They got the same rights as a free person in the Islamic state.
      In modern terms it would be called a servant or a helper/butler.

      @Globalfaction 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +HoldShiftt2Run Mate, I think you need to understand 'threads' better. In the 'other thread' I didn't reply to YOU but to the original commenter. My direct reply to you in this particular thread was because of the way you put the comment. It is safe to presume that many people will see your comment here without seeing your previous one. In which case they will read that "In accordance to Islamic shariah, slavery is allowed..." This comment is misleading at best and untrue at worst. It is THIS statement I'm responding to. What is actually allowed is to take people as prisoners of war. This is totally different and has a different connotation, and context. The prisoners of war are treated with great respect as you state. If you say that 'Islam allows slavery but we treat our slaves good', that 'good' treatment does not make it ok to those who have been uprooted and bastardized by chattel slavery in, say, the Caribbean and the Americas. Islam does not allow 'Slavery'.

    "Fortuna, the Roman goddess of fate or luck, was popular as an allegory in medieval times, and even though it was not strictly reconcilable with Christian theology, it became popular in learned circles of the High Middle Ages to portray her as a servant of God in distributing success or failure in a characteristically "fickle" or unpredictable way, thus introducing the notion of chance."

      Alhamdulilah for Islam wallahi. Imagine how western use to treat slave so badly bc of Bible encouraging them (summit to your master etc) and in Islam where they became rules and kings.

    They thing here is a misunderstanding of the English term SLAVE. A slave has no rights and therefor Islam does not condone slavery. Their are various cases of mistranslation when it comes to the Quran, plus people trying to marry their culture to the religion, causing other problems of understanding. The religion condones a man to have a servant woman and if she allows him, he can have relations with her. The problem is not with the Quran or the great prophet, rather the problem is with some Muslims that deem themselves better than other people based upon complexion, stature, or nationality. THE RELIGION ISLAM IS THE TRUTH AND PURE. WE MUSLIMS HAVE ALOT OF GOOD WORK TO DO.

      But Mohammed, did condone slavery, recommended sex with slaves (rape) and had many slaves. So he was very much in favour of slavery. He did free some slaves, mostly those who claimed he was was the prophet, but not all of those, and he prevented the freeing of slaves on at least one occasion. I am getting a bit sickened by some modern Islamic revisionists who are claiming that some kind of happy Walt Disney Style of slavery existed under Mohammed. What utter lies they are spreading.

      YAHYA NTEGE There are many texts.
      Here are a few to be going on with...
      From the Hadith...
      Bukhari (47.765) - A woman is rebuked by Muhammed for freeing a slave girl. The prophet tells her that she would have gotten a greater heavenly reward by giving her to a relative (as a slave).
      Muslim 4112 - A man freed six slaves on the event of his death, but Muhammad reversed the emancipation and kept four in slavery to himself. He cast lots to determine which two to free.
      from The Quran..
      .
      The text permitting sex with those that the right hand posses
      The Quran, chapter 4 (An-Nisa), verse 24?.
      There are numerous other texts, which I have lost my references to. I shall not look for them again as I have already spent too much time on this topic. Given the recent revival of interest in this topic and the internet they should not be difficult to find nowadays.

      YAHYA NTEGE mohammed was a very dirty prick..he too,kept,bought,sold and raped slaves, gave a five yo captive child to his uncle, knowing for sex…after he'd robbed,killed her father and raped,enslaved her mother…and why would you call a pedo/rapist/necrophile/liar/thief/sicko deviant and murderer of innocents to be great, when he controlled people by kILLING
      learn the extent of the islamic slsve trade, and in 2015 islam still allows slavery…mohammed preferred white slsves, use to trade TWO black slaves to obtain ONE white….and islamic slave trade treated blacks far worse than non blacks
      clearly you are not a strong or smart boy, as the hoax of islam shsckles those devoid of balls and brains lol
      islam the truth you say LOL…truth about WHAT EXACTLY you gullible ignorant, when the truth is there ISNT a shred of proof of any allah, zilch of anything…the truth is koran is a man made book with major errors/nonsense/filth barbarity in it, and has been changed…the truth is islam shackles the dumb/weak/cowardly by brainwashing,deceit and threats…the truth is NOT EVEN AN IGNORANT like you was 'created' the way koran says, NOT EVEN YOU lol…the errors/nonsense in it come from mistaken beliefs of that era
      Im LAUGHING you say you 'don't know what people are reading' when YOU can't read the koranic nonsense/filth

      If the slave girl could have her way, she wouldn't be a slave; then there would be no sex. Be real about it, stop lying a slave is a slave, a person with no rights and controlled by their master. Islam needs to deal with there slave history.

  • @zohebalikhan7404
    @zohebalikhan7404 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Simply put: servitude in the Islamic sense is not equivalent to European chattel slavery. "Slaves" are considered humans in Islamic law, whereas in European law they are considered property. Marcus Aurelius was not the descendant of slaves, he was a descendant of Roman (Italian) colonizers. Freeing Chattel slavery is seen as a virtue in the Quran. A moral argument from the perspective of atheism against the Quran and slavery is invalid because the morals of atheism is ultimately subjective, relative, and transitory (morality changes).

    The guy who spoke about crossing the red sea has misunderstood the story of Exodus. Moses crossed the Red Sea from Egypt to Mount Sinai. But this guy says you don't need to cross the Red Sea to reach Israel because from Mount Sinai, you can see Israel. But if you look at the google map, it clearly shows from Egypt, you need to cross the Red Sea to reach Mount Sinai and then it will lead the pathway to Israel. So this guy has no clue what he's talking about and brother Adnan Rashid has rightly ended the discussion with this guy because he's delusional. And that goes to the cocky guy as well. Brother Adnan Rashid, throughout this discussion, the guys couldn't handle you. Maa shaa ALLAH.

    What I'd like to say now is that we should all Muslim or not stand against those that give our Deen a bad name and condone the ones that use Islam for personal politics as this is what the issue is.

    When people talk about reconciling science and religion, that is only an issue with people who have preconceived ideas, but scientists cannot/should-not have preconceived ideas they must believe the evidence. All scientific models must conform to NATURE or REALITY, If there is any tiny evidence for some unnatural forces then they must include that in their paper and account for it. originally from Karachi Pakistan and Teer Haripur Hazaara, now ex-Muslim Atheist .

    Not only does Islam condone slavery it recommends it. Mohammad was a slaver who owned, captured, and sold slaves. Those are the facts. One can read about it both in the Qur'an and the Hadith. Muslims used to be proud of this. In fact one of the Saudi Imams, Saleh Al-Fawzan, wants to re-institute the practice that the Western world (UK) fought so hard to end, forcing the abolishment on Muslims. An Egyptian sheik, Abu Ishaq al-Huwaini, also wants to bring it back. Many others claim slavery was always a part of Islam and should always be.

    This guy is one sly atheist. I bet you even he knows the difference between western slavery and the so called slavery under Muslims, even he knows that the Muslims only kept those people who were prisoners of war as servants, and the fact that they had a decent life after having to serve their Muslim masters. Even then he knows this came about because of natural tit for tat tribalism fought through wars that pre-date Islam by thousands of years, Islam just found a way to deal with those that were displaced, and he highly tried to compare it to black slavery. He was playing on the fact that slavery itself is just a bad word, so being all theatrical for the camera.

    It’s non-intuitive to understand that all this complexity is just natural and no intervention of any being is required, it’s much much simpler and easier for humans to believe that some being did it magically, especially when we are indoctrinated to believe from a very early age by our parents, teachers, leaders, elders practically everyone. And if we don’t conform to our parents religions then we can be shunned, disowned and possibly harmed. originally from Karachi Pakistan and Teer Haripur Hazaara, now ex-Muslim Atheist .
