      Tide changed and boat got hung up by the rudder. The rudder post and its assembly is now destroyed and completely comprised this boat would now take on water from the gaping holes. Drydock for sure.

    Next time take a mid sized air baffle and place it under the stern, in front of the rudder and blow up the baffle. It will lift the rudder up without damage.

    It’s painful to watch this! Why not just pry the rudder to slide over the edge. The stern has a lovely crack in it now, best make sure the bilge pump is working!

      Absolutely agree, it was painful to watch . I was thinking why not use the handle of the sledgehammer to pry it over instead of going wreck it Ralph on it .

      He done the only thing that could be done. That rudder had so much weight on it, plus the propeller looks to be at wide open throttle. I do belive you'd be pissing in the wind trying to pry it.

    This is the people you don't wanna call when you're boat is hooked up. I'd rather spent the few hundred on a tow truck, jump in the water with a strap and have the truck extend his boom a bit so the boat can be dropped in correctly. Instead you thought you were saving some money by having a hack crew put your boat back in. Now the rudder plus whatever fiberglass damage when it hit the wall smh.

    I'm curious how the boat got there in the first place. I guess it was a poor crane operation and the boat is a write off anyway. It's on the edge of a boat storage area.

    Ridiculous. Pulling the halyard from the mast top, to port, would have gotten the boat off the wall with much less damage. Amateurs!

    If everyone went to the port side, the boat would have tilted and put the weight of the boat on the side of the rudder and it would have been easier to pull off.

    Geezuss, if you can afford a sailboat that big, you can afford to rent a 20 ton cherry picker service for the 30 minutes it'll take to lift that stern back into the drink. Fixing cracked hulls costs a FORTUNE.

    Looks like a launch ram. What is the other white pole/ mast? Inflatable looks like a tow/ recovery service. Did a launch go horribly wrong? Tide issue?

    Hitting the rudder with a sledge hammer will do NOTHING to get the sailboat off the wall! Nothing! They need to move the mass of the sailboat away from the wall, and banging on the rudder doesn’t do that. It came off only when it was pulled off by the power boat.

    How to wreck a sailing yacht? Don't worry, those ships never leave the marina. Those are floating caravans. Owners can't even sail. No big deal, this.

    They say boats are a bottomless pit far as money goes, maybe so when you're surrounded by hammer hitters. I think I'd try using a spanner first, or even better s high tide which is probably how it got there in the first place...

    They seemed to have docked at high tide. Swung their boat around in such proximity to the dock that when tide went out, it left the rudder snagged on the dock. This happens a lot where docks are fixed to land rather than those docks that have the ability to rise and fall with the tide.

    Dont know why they didnt run a line from the top of the mast and run the power boat at 45 degrees away from the peir , close the hatches in the yacht first it wouldve slid right off with less damage.

    They could have got off one with a bigger boat or two if they use that same boat tilted it or pulled the boat to the left to make it slide off about damaging it as much and said pulling on it and hitting it with a hammer
