The song is not about praising Europe. It’s about finding himself by living by the words his father has taught him. “A world without borders” has a double meaning. Yes, it would be ideal if the world was without borders, but in reality its not. His dad taught him that nothing is impossible and you can go anywhere you want because we’re all people. When he lost both of his parents, those were the words he held on to. But whether he’s in italy or germany, the pain would always be there (of losing his parents). The song is also about closure and making them proud by making this grand gesture during the eurovision songfestival.

We don’t know the full details yet. But basically the Israeli delegation was winding him up trying to film him backstage. He reacted and they got rid of him.

He did make it to the finals! Received the second most votes in the semi final (behind Israel 🙄) but was disqualified. He really didn’t deserve it but basically he was just getting off stage after that emotional finish and after he repeatedly told her no a Swedish photographer invaded his space and privacy. After telling her no several times he made a “threatening move” towards the camera, didn’t touch her, make physical contact nor did he say anything yet they disqualified him …
Absolutely BS after the whole Israeli delegation did nothing but bully other contestants and their teams all week and received no punishment.
(got that from SVT reporting and a statement from the dutch broadcaster)
After 30 years you will still remember Joost and forget about the winner.

The last part is about when he was a kid his dad told him that he should write poem’s and he told his dad that he was gonna become famous and preforme in the eurovision. And now at the end of the song his poem is about that he misses his dad and his dad told him (het is een wereld zonder grenzen) meaning that How big your dreams are u can achieve them and than he says see dad i did it i listend to u

So you basically have 0 idea what the song is about or what it means to the artist. You call the artist cringe for making a song dedicated to his parents he lost when he was 12/13, with a great message for Europe in it's entirety. Joost did make it to the finals and he was going to win... We all know that. Stay mad and cringe longer because this song is not going to leave Europe. Everyone loves it and it became the anthem for Eurovision 2024.

WTF do you mean with manufactured? It's a sad song, an hommage to his parents, about how he always felt alone everywhere, paying money to therapists but they never helped. He's got ptsd from finding his mom dead on the couch when he was just 11, barely a year after his father died of cancer.
