      The fact that they blend well makes it more mysterious honestly

      Me too, I really like how the colors swirl together.

    • @Ralloris
      @Ralloris 5 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      I agree. I find that the colours being able to blend together makes it look cleaner and it reads better in my mind. The gold and black are a bit too much of a contrast to me and it looks really seperated and disjointed. I think the first set would look great if they blended together and swirled rather than the blue sitting at the bottom. It'd be like the difference between looking at a fish tank (which is what the set feels like to me) and being underwater. I've never made dice before, though, so take what I say with a handful of salt.

      Yes absolutely! Check out either my 24k gold dice that I did maybe 2 months ago, as I go over the process in that video, or check out my "Casting Clear Dice" two part series. I go over the mold making process in a lot more detail, but it also talks about some equipment that would help make your molds stronger/ready to make clear/transparent dice. They are completely optional, but it's good to have those options sometimes, or at least know that they exist.

    I may be biased since my favorite color is green, but I really like the Eldritch Emerald set. I love how the colors swirl together. It's like an emerald being corrupted by some nightmare, and it's beginning to forget what's good and what's evil. That die tells a story! The emerald of corruption. Heck, you could probably make a quest out of that and give the dice away to whomever receives the emerald in-game and becomes corrupted by it. Then whomever receives the set will have a story to tell whenever they show the dice to someone new.

    Woah. That glow in the dark is sooooooooo pretty! Not that the others aren’t (I really love the green and black ones, actually), but the glowing ones are so enchanting! Also, coming from that first dice video reeeeally makes all the improvements you’ve made in just under a year pop! From the equipment to the filming to the techniques to the background music, all of that improved so much! And it wasn’t bad to begin with :3
    Anyways, now that I let out all of the praises cooped up in me, I was wondering - are you thinking of making another type of two-colour dice that is mostly clear with a little squirt (;)) of colour in it? Like, it’s absolutely crystal clear, no colouration, but there is this flowing ink wave inside of it? I don’t know how to better describe them, but they are so so sooooo pretty! Before I was looking at them, because I saw a “crystal” to fit at the end of a flashlight to make “magical glowing gem” with a not uniform colour and, as I couldn’t coordinate with the person selling them well enough, was looking into making those swirls myself. I assumed it was just a little injection of ink, but my research in TH-cam videos (I admit, it was not all that extensive, so I might’ve missed something) only led to the ones that explained how to generally dye resin and the ones that showed ink being injected into resin and kind of clotting up in it, which was not what I wanted.
    Do you think that idea sound interesting enough for you to try it? :3 Or maybe you already know how it’s done?
    By the way, if my description wasn’t clear enough, I could e-mail you a picture of such dice!
    P.S.: I honestly wouldn’t make that joke if you didn’t draw our attention to it at 1:43 :P

    just from watching these I'm getting inspired to try to make at least a d20! ^^
    Thought I'm curious about a dice set with inclusions like sequins or gemstone chips? Mainly to get them to "float" in the dice rather than sink to the bottom.

    • @Rybonator
      @Rybonator  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You totally can! The easiest way would be to make half a dice, let it cure and then put the item inside with the rest of the resin so that it can stay in the middle :)

    I don't know what you mean the green and the black are too blended, I think that's the entire appeal of the dice set. Its absolutely gorgeous and by far my favorite set of the 4. Will be even more gorgeous when you paint the numbers on. White would look amazing of course but I actually think purple might be the way to go for that set, to really give it that eldritch feel.
