I had mine set exactly like yours. I looked at the fountain from my kitchen and saw lots of splashing. Made me happy. But then the mom bird came toward my door wall and looked nervous. I sensed something wrong. Went toward the door and I could see her baby was drowning. I hurried and got him out with the broom. He was exhausted and sat in the patio for about 1 hour while the mom bird kept bringing him worms. I’m so glad I caught it in time. I rearranged the planter with River ricks and another tray inside ai the birds can now land in the rocks and not drown.

@@LilBogota, it means that there are no holes in the bottom of the pot to make the water leak out.
This one work is direct sun light 💡 and only for a few hours it doesn’t have good battery. Positive feedback

@@DIYStories It has 4 different spray modes, and it appears as though there's a flow control - so you don't HAVE to let the water spray beyond where you want it. Also we plan on using it for a bird bath in a large, LARGE container, so if some did escape it's actually a good thing as we can refill with fresh water

It most certainly is like that. Output pressure is too high allowing water to splash outside of the basin. You'll be filling that bowl every couple of hours. The fix here is to enlarge the holes a little more to reduce water pressure, or remove the spout.

Birds won’t come unless water spout is off. Great on a non sunny day though
These solar fountains work well as advertised. However, there is one issue that they are not showing you. If you run the fountain as shown in the video, even the slightest breeze will blow the water spray over the edge of the birdbath and onto the ground. It only takes a very few minutes to drain the birdbath completely. When the water is gone, the pump is supposed to shut off but the shut-off feature does not always work. Running the pump dry will often burn out the motor.
I was able to use my fountain by removing the spray nozzle and letting the pump generate a short volume of water straight up. Although this arrangement was not very pleasing visually it did create a soothing sound that the birds seemed to enjoy. My fountain worked for several weeks until on an extremely hot day all the water evaporated out of the birdbath and left the pump running dry. By the time I returned home from work the pump had quit never to work again.

It will soon empty the water, ours did, I had to keep filling it up otherwise it will ruin the pump. It is now in a much deeper container.

The fountain needs to be exposed to the sun, otherwise it will just drizzle when placed in the shade.

Gentlemen, we have the technology
I have one and it doesn't work that good. Every 5 minutes, you have to put water in the pot if it has a little breeze outside. Even if there's no breeze to water sometimes goes outside of the pot and then it's empty and you have to fill it again. Waste of money.
Do you have to re-squeeze it to get it to work if it’s been sitting on a cloudy day?
A lot of people put these in the birdbath and then they’ll put rocks and other stuff in there. So how can a bird take a bath on a bunch of rocks or other stuff some people have these little spike things they’re not even safe and they should never be in a birdbath, these water fountain things , but they’re good for just like a little waterfall for something else, but they’re too dangerous for birds to be used as a birdbath. My opinion.

Can we cut the four side pipes into halg because mine is not fitting in my bowl?
Yes, have you tried cutting them yet? I just got mine set up today but I do remember reading on other reviews that you can cut the plastic "pipes" shorter if need be.

I didn't get sticks with mine + it tends to tilt to one side.

@@ktb9369 I think they are meant to keep them centered in the bird bath. I think some people say it helps to keep it balanced. But I was successful using it without the sticks in my swimming pool and everyone loved having it in there.

Spray is too high , splashes are too strong, they'll scare the birds.
This come with different nozzles so you can control the splashes according to your needs.
