To road rash
To 90s
To all the cool bands
Thank you
Bands like this and Polvo
Road Rash "32 bit" is just something else!
They set up a Sega at the upstairs bar where they were playing in Dallas as some kind of cross promotion where a small group of people got to play Road Rash with Adam and Jimmy before the show and the winner got the Sega, the Game signed, and the old Swervedriver “pedals” shirt that had the Road Rash logo on the back. One of my coolest memories.
If I could suggest one thing about KEXP’s production, it would be to show the band’s gear. Some of us are nerds, ya know.
geetarbube -I saw what I was wondering about...
brilliant
Dude... yes. Been killing me for years. Give us gear heads a break.
You got to see the digitech whammy in action. Isn't that enough?
Something about this band- I have followed them for 25yrs. The most transporting romantic band I think. The tapestry of textured sound is hypnotic in combination with the lyrics. Like a memory of a lost love. I know it is hard to create this sort of art but Swervedriver is true after all these years. Great artists. Great crew led by Adam. Wish I could see them again to feel young again.
The songs are so emotive. When I hear them I see a movie in my head of my younger self just enjoying life.
I am buying every album they ever made.
the first 3 are great. (maybe all of them) Son of a Mustang Ford. I had friends with good taste.
did you buy all their albums?
Without argument, the best band ever.
I used to play truant, when I've listened to Swervedriver. We ran away from school to a lake, got naked and tried to feel free. Many years later my boy-friend took me out on a holiday. I thought about some sunny island, but he took me to New York. I was so disturbed, cause I lived in Berlin. I thought we go from stress-city to mega-stress-city.
My friend in Manhattan had free ticket that night, I didn't know, who's going to play, but we saw Swervedriver.
I'll never forget that night, introducing me to NY.
It was fabulous.
Great music, exciting Sex and a time I'll never ever forget.
Magical.
Them Germans, eh?
Mick Quinn from Supergrass on bass!
Yeah
❤ Swervedriver ❤ One of my favorite bands.🤓
We need more bands like this this is real music not the manufactured major record label shite that get forced upon us
So amazing. Loved 'em since I first saw them play "Rave Down" on good old MTV.
What a sound! The two guitars are born to be together. Thanks KEXP and SWD.
the guitar tones are so fuckin' perfect....every guitarist should love this band.
Estoy tan feliz por Mick Quinn, admiro su trabajo desde Supergrass, no cabe duda que el tiempo siempre te coloca en lugares insospechados. Grande Swervedriver.
Wow, this is really cool. I have to say that I still have Raise on cassette. I drove around North Dallas, TX listening to it. The new stuff is stellar too.
my fav from the latest album is Last Rites, so early 90s sounding with the reverb
There’s just isn’t another band like Swervedriver and it’s why they’re easily one of my fav bands of all time. Like damn I remember first hearing these guys when I was five on Road Rash. They just kill it
Amazing performance
This is fckn awesome!! Thanks for posting. Grew up listening to Swervedriver! Adam's voice hasn't changed unreal
Quality band. Saw them in Toronto and London this year. Nice to see an old band coming back with new material rather than re-hashing old stuff for an ego trip and a payday.
This comment struck me as funny I'm going to see them perform Raise and Mezcalhead next month at Lee's Palace. Never got to see them live, but have been a long time fan since '93. I'm really stoked, this is a dream for me.
oh man ! their last gig on KEXP was my favorite and it was on repeat all the time !
thanks for bring back the swervies !!!!
Great drummer. Had a blast watching him play with The Lemonheads in Ferndale last year.
Rick Beato brought me here.
Perfect set! My 4 favorite tracks from that album
They have a concert with Failure in Nashville soon. Two badass bands! Hope I get to see them!
Super Incredible!!
i love the album
SWD has been my favorite band since I stumbled across Mustang Ford one night while fumbling through channels. Caught the debut on 120 Minutes. Ran out and bought Raise the next day. Hooked like a junkie since. But it's a good drug. Chock full of the USDA of Rifftacular Goodness.
They were my favorite guitars in the game!
Perfection
Nice to hear Musical Art
I have Jazzmaster envy
It's all good but that last song "I Wonder" took me somewhere and it was good!
Amazing! Love the latest album.
Best band of now
SO GOOD. PLEASE TOUR UK THIS YEAR
GREAT, GREAT, GREAT!!!!!
I discovered this band from playing the original Road Rage. That game has an amazing soundtrack. My favorite Swervedriver song is Duel.
SAME! Now loving them so many years later! RIP 3DO.
Seen em a bunch of times, only complaint was set wasn't long enuff. I mean they put on a full set plus some. But I could listen to these guys all night.
Me too, and have on several occasions.
superb!!!!
Love you guys. Really cool.
I love how this followed a Black Angels song. It's so right
I've got tix for their show in Toronto next month....beyond excited!!
***** Ian, the show was excellent. The band is certainly not just going through the motions. Mick Quinn, of Supergrass fame on bass, and Mikey Jones is a perfect fit for Swervedriver. To top off a great day, I/we bumped into Adam before the show and after asking verrrry politely, I got a pic taken with him. Treated myself to a t-shirt even...take care and thanks for asking!
Awesome!
Not too many genuine rock n roll bands left. Being partial to the Stones I think of it as some Stones blood. Where the ability to both rock and roll is in their genetics. By my standard ZZ Top, AC/DC (Bon Scott era especially), Drive By Truckers and of course the Sensational Alex Harvey Band all share this very specific mojo. The Mekons and Meat Puppets as well. I'm new to Swervedriver and it seems they may have it too. And apologies for overlooking Paul Weller.
First song is very like Days by television in some ways. Also pure magic!
+David Fairbairn They cover that one on the LP.
Oh yeah absolutely!!! So similar now you mentioned it
Glad to see they're back!
I thought they're dead or something
Geniuuuussss!!!!
Rick Beato opened this door!

Will Ferrell is incredibly talented. A member of two bands, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Swervedriver,. As well as a well traveled actor
Where would these guys be w/o the band Television?
Are these new tracks? They're very good
as a guitar freak i cant help to notice that adam only uses one guitar in this set !
is that a sign that finally adam settles down with just one tuning ?
or they just choose the tunes for this set that were in the same tuning ?
+ramiro martinez Just choose the tunes in that tuning. Played last night and he went through three guitars.
thats good to know because its always interesting to hear the different sound atmospheres that brings all the crazy tunings he usually favor
+ramiro martinez The thing I always dug about them, was the fact they had not much hype(like Oasis or Nirvana) but were full of substance back when they came onto the scene. Also, I think Adam seems so much more humble than say someone like BIlly Corgan where the attention seemed to go to his head it seems, not saying the music they did was not good, it just started to not interest me after a point cause he seemed so eager to tell everyone about it all the time, whereas Adam has to get kind of prodded to talk much about himself at all, it maybe the difference between someone interacting with you vs. someone lecturing you, it seems to me.
yeah i think thats correct, adam seems an easy going chill kind of guy
I love their use of tunings
Such a great sound.
Nice arrangements. SD tend to mix their vocals to low on the songs I've listen to on youtube. I would like to see more dynamics--e.g., cut way down when there is singing.
joker
Great performance, but where is Steve?
Not sure either. Couldn't have gotten a better replacement though. If you aren't familiar with Supergrass, treat yourself, that's Mick Quinn on bass.
zirtapot57 Steve George wrote on Facebook that he could not take the extended time off to tour overseas, but he is still part of the band and wishes them well for the tour.
Thanks for the information. I'll also check out Supergrass.
+Z42O M cooool
strobe cameras blow
2nd time!!!1!1
Who all came here in a hope to find DUEL, the Road Rash Soundtrack?
Old boss biofeedbacker distortion.
what a shit place to put an advert , right in the middle of a concert . whats happened to kexp has the money got more important than the music
Probs youtube auto ads
hey, not bad! =]
Not bad at all..
What is the name of this band? Pretty impressive cover of Swerve Driver by these old dad belly boys.
This is Swervedriver, man.
He's trying to be funny
I'm here because THE GANJAS band.
"THE GANJAS!! That's the fucking band!" Andy Bell
Great recording guys but would have been better with a tweaked H3000 type of effect on the vocal would have nailed it.
Mike, what the fuck is this?
:/
Did the drummer have a heart attack after the performance?
sorry..I'm the best fan..n that sounds like shit.
I'm surprised they didn't kick out the announcer
swervegrassdriver. cool
