A note about Collabs; don't be afraid to experiment, most weapons have up to 3 potential collabs. For example, lava bucket not only collabs with spider cooking, but also 2 other weapons. Also, funny you should mention being afraid Mumei's special not giving exp, in the previous version of the game when it was only on itchio, it deleted all on screen exp, but the devs changed that for v0.6.
Ooh, didn't know that about collabs. Thanks! There's a weapon in Vampire Survivors that deletes enemies and xp (until you level it up). Guess I was having flashbacks to that, lol.
@@deepspacematt3333Yeah, Mumei's special is basically the Pentagram but without the ability to upgrade it; that's why it got tweaked for the Steam release.
I know it's late, but if you have not found them yet, there are also super collabs, that include a Collab weapon, and an armour item@@deepspacematt3333
As you noticed with Mumei, all pets gained from a character-specific skill will also, as an unlisted benefit, collect XP they travel near, so you can think of them as also effectively being a pickup range bonus. So, that would be Ame, Ina, Mumei, and Sora benefitting from that. "Flower" is a reference to Bae's first Minecraft stream, where Kronii and Mumei joined in. At the end of the stream, Kronii just started repeating "flower" in a deadpan voice, and Mumei started losing it. For whatever reason, it became meme'd on even by JP fans, and the JP Holo streamers also picked up on and imitated it.
Add Shion and Risu to the pickup bonus list considering Magic Garlic and Risu Clones also collect exp. Part of the hilarity of the deadpan flower delivery was how much it resembled the text to speech voice.
The main weapon always provides the fastest dps increase, so you should max it first, before even taking another weapon. Each character has 3 unique skills, that are meant to completely change how you play. The whole replayability of the game comes from the unique skills. Like, there's a reason Ina is fast but weak; you're supposed to stay as close to the mobs as possible, to slow down mobs so they clump together; then a single attack will activate the Frobidden Wah (which you neglected to upgrade) and get the damage multiplier. And if at any point you get overwhelmed, you can touch a converted takodachi to create an explosion, or activate the special, to run away with your superior speed. Long range weapons work against Ina's skills; you want to maximize the number of enemies in the debuff zone. With Mumei, she gets stronger with more enemies on screen. Halu makes her stronger. Don't run away, to avoid despawning enemies off screen. Just remember to use your special as a panic button.
If the description of the item/skill is too long, there will be a + on the bottom right telling you to press Right to see the second page of the description.
You were extremely lucky with the gasha draw. There is a low chance of getting an outfit. Also, for your Ina run, you skipping over the skill, 4th Wah, really dropped your damage potential as almost all your attacks would hit more than 4 enemies. It is recommended to max out the skills and first weapon first, as they all compliment each other
Very nicely done! On anvils, I like to grab them quick to level up my other weapons to level 7 faster, rather than strengthening an already awakened weapon. That is because the faster your weapons, skills and items are maxed, the only options when you level up will be stat increases. On why sometimes you can select items and sometimes you cannot, when on the anvil screen: all weapons go to level 7, but items are a mixed bag - some items only have 1 level, some have 3, and some others have 5. Once you reached the maximum for that particular item, you cannot level it up more, thus you cannot select it there. As you realized during play, the skills with the star shape are unique to each character, have a max of 3, and total to 3 on each character. I quite adore them, as they help make each character feel different, or push you to try out different styles of play as a result. To see the remaining information on those skills, you need to press the right arrow, I believe. Looking forward to watching the next one!
Really late, but not the right arrow (Holocure does not accept arrow inputs). The key is 'D' or the key/button you use to move to the right. If you use a control it is a different one.
The afk challange in this one is finishing the stage without ever moving from the starting position. It's one of the achievements, called couch potato.
Found the Holocure videos to be pretty fun, liked! :) - Shield (Body Pillow) can act as a buffer for skills/items that require for you not taking damage (like the Lab Coat) so you can take some damage without losing the effects. - Also, stamps can be upgraded by using other stamps (up to level 3 most of times, some max at level 2), stamps that are used up or sold wont appear again, you can go into the menu and drop stamps manually, they preserve their current level. - The golden/silver character running around is called silver/golden YAGOO (its a caricature of the CEO of COVER, the company that owns Hololive, his name is Motoaki Tanigo, one of the talents mistook his name and called him Motoaki Yagoo and it kinda stuck and everyone calls him like that now), they dont do damage and drop coins if damaged, if you manage to kill them before they disappear the silver will drop a stamp (if there is any available) and the golden will drop a holozone box. - I dont know if you noticed about Enchantments, but at the start of every level random weapons get random modifiers that appear in blue under its description (and the weapons name changes to blue too), this is an enchantment (-10% cooldown, +10% damage, etc), you can enchant a weapon that doesnt have one with an anvil (you have to pay for this) or you can re-roll an enchantment on a weapon. Collab weapons inherit the enchantments of the basic weapons, so its possible to have up to 2 enchantments at the same time if both collab weapons had an enchantment, however, if you re-roll a collab with 2 enchantments it will randomize both.
Actually Mumei has the STRONGEST Basic Weapon in the game. Her Awakened Feather is homing weapon so you dont really need to aim, her strat is to MAX her Feather as FAST as possible, while picking up her Unique Skills along the way. You were doing great, too cocky was your downfall 😂
I'm going to be honest, I'd have happily paid $10-$15 for this game. The creator was told by Cover Corp, the parent company of Hololive, that he could indirectly monetize the game via donation asks. But Kay Yu refused because, as he said, it would turn a beloved hobby into a job. He already does official work as an animator for Hololive, such as the official music video for Calli's and Gura's original song "[Q]"; the skeletons and shrimp wearing the coats are a reference to that video. EDIT: There are also certain weapons and support items that affect characters differently. Such as the Cutting Board. It gets a size boost with characters that are... petite shall we say, but bustier characters suffer a slight size debuff for it; so it's bigger for flat characters and smaller for bustier ones. The opposite is true of the Bounce Ball, bustier gets the buff while the more wall-like get a slight debuff. The _only_ exception to this is when using Sana. She always gets the buff for both because of her character lore.
Only near the beginning of the video so far, but I gotta ask: Does he ever figure out how to press right? Also, wow. He actually spent coins to get rid of the damage up on the Elite Lava Bucket...
Not sure how others do it but my go to strategy is maxing out the main weapon and the directly usefull character skills as that is mostly good enough early game and gets synergies going (especially on new characters so I know what build to go for). Once you're close to maxing try decide on which super collab to go for or just a good early collab and get one of the weapons. While maxing this take the second weapon if it appears. Whenever 1 weapon is close get the next one. Getting to many weapons will slow down when you get collabs. Items just grab what ever shows up and you want for your build and upgrade them when you think it's necessary. More general tips: Get skills to max early to remove them from the pool as you want them anyway. Weapons have at least 2 possible collabs and most even 3. Gacha rolls don't guarantee outfits. It is a small chance so you got really lucky. Always try to enchant weapons before the collab. That way you can get 2 enchantments on collab items. The 250 don't really matter much compared to the power boost and there are so many ways to get money it doesn't really matter. Don't ignore the holohouse. It can generate you a lot of additional income and buffs for runs. Later on it is a bit superfluous because I unlocked everything but the buffs are still usefull and just seing my money counter go up is fun either way.
before they implemented fully manual aim aka twinsticking (for controllers) they actually had strafing implemented in the initial build. you can still use strafing if you want to try it out but manual aiming already handles strafing. mouse aim was in the patch after twinsticking
