    My last sale to a wholesalers was 23000 balls in 2 months! 8000.00 bucks for only working for 3 to 4 hours a night. It's addictive as he'll. Have fun from Wisconsin!

      That’s insane!! What a haul that was and some good profit made there. How did you manage to clean and grade them? Must’ve taken ages! 😂😂

    Me and a mate do this in the winter after our rounds. Found over 3000 last year. Sold them to a company in Scotland and paid for my club membership,
    Great fun, despite the injuries. Nothing like the purple glow of a pro v1😀

      That's a brilliant return on your time investment. Lottie and I went out together one evening and found loads more but not many good ones. I think a Saturday evening after a medal is the best time to head out and find some. Definitely with you on the glow of the PRO V1's!

    Let me add some more tips for when you're out on a course at night on your own..
    If you go into woods be careful or you could follow a trail of balls and suddenly realise you've lost your bearings I know the woods very well were I go but have got lost for 10minutes twice.
    Wear waterproof boots as unless its dry weather the rough will soon soak your feet. Take a change of Shoes and socks and a towel just in case.
    Don't just stick you hand into bushes and long grass as a snakebite could be inconvenient.
    ( I was bitten 2 or 3 months ago on my shin whilst playing and looking for my lost ball)
    Either take a wedge or a ball pick up tool and move the ball with that first. A snake will scurry off with the noise, but if you supprize it, better it bites your wedge than your hand or leg.
    UV also seems to alter your depth perception which is awkward it you step off the side of the tee onto the slope I ended up on my ass doing that. I've also stepped on uneven ground in the dark which has thrown me off balance with the same result. Have your phone with you in case you do have a fall or injure yourself with a branch or gorse bush in your eye. I would recommend a backup flashlight and a red rear bicycle lamp ( the reason for this is red light doesn't effect your night vision where as white/yellow light does. If you turn your flash light on your night vision takes a few minutes to fully adapt again. But do use you seconary light frequently to check what you are actually walking into.
    I've walked into deep leafy ground cover as you can't see it under UV. I also walked into a pile of rotting grass cuttings that would have ruined my trainers had I not hosed and scrubbed them off immediately.
    If it's been raining all day don't bother even if it's stopped. Under UV everything that's wet will glow purple and te contrast between the brghtly glowing ball and the dark ground will be lost,

    I've done this a few times at my golf course by just booking a late tee time and checking with a torch whilst trying to play golf in the dark. They shut at say 8 but you can stay on after they shut. They do have a sign up saying that taking balls at "the end of the day" is stealing and you will be prosecuted so I don't know if that applies to members or just people generally walking on who haven't paid a green. It's mad how much the balls light up though, like its blinding white!

      Yeah, these UV torches really do work wonders. I'd be surprised if they can legally do anything to be honest, and in truth, who is ever going to take you to court for looking for golf balls. Just because it's nighttime, is it any different from picking up a golf ball during your round that you happen to find lying in the bushes? Not really! My biggest concern when I head out is either a) getting attacked by a random stranger or b) getting attacked by a deer!!

    I’ve also been doing this for many years, it’s so easy. I walk the dog at night around my local course once a month. It must be a tricky course or the golfers are blind as I always fill a rucksack. I will say, to protect yourself against thorns and nettles. I’ve made £££££ over time, don’t play golf, but sell them and have a list of golfers that always buy.

      Love to hear it, Bethan. Looks like you have a nice little business model here and are getting some extra exercise at the same time! I've not sold any of the balls I've found but they'll be useful for the range and I'm planning on gifting lots (the more I collect) to the local junior section at the golf club.
      I took my little 7 year old girl out at the weekend for 30 mins and she absolutely loved it. I thought she'd be frightened but wasn't scared one bit - even with those birds unexpectedly flapping about! We found 19 balls and she was delighted!!

    There's a golf course around where usually go for a walk, found 3 golf balls without any uv torch. Golf balls definitely go for some coin, each were about $3-4 as I checked online. Could be an alright side gig, didnt even check the driving range or anything yet!

    • @AndysGolfBlog
      @AndysGolfBlog  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You'll probably struggle to get $3-4 unless they're a decent ball and in great condition but you could try. I think most people have job selling bundles of mixed balls.
      In truth, I don't personally see doing this as a business unless you live near a course where thousands of balls are being lost, and even then, it's probably more hassle than it's worth. But, as a way of topping up your ball supply for the range of winter golf, it's worth considering...and it's good for exercise!

      @@AndysGolfBlog I'm in Australia so everything is crazy inflated, fuel is over $8 for a gallon lol. Yeah 2 of them were decent balls, oh and also found a cricket ball haha. Yeah it was just on a walk, not as a business, but just had me thinking what if and it was kind of fun. Been through a lot of sht so it was good to take my mind off! haha

    Great video Andy, I've been doing this for 3 years lol I find balls to then sell 🙂normal time out is 1 hour 45 and I typically come back with 280-320 balls. Made just under £900 in that time, and I invest the money back into my golf equipment. My tips are, wear heavy duty gloves, wellies (for streams), and a bump hat, I also heavy duty arm protectors lol

      @AndysGolfBlog  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the nice comment, Neil! That’s a good return and some exercise at the same time, which is great. I took my little 7 year old out the week after and she had a blast. We found about 30 balls in just a very short space of time, so she was delighted! I don’t know if I could be doing with the hassle of selling them but good on you for making almost £1k!! I think my bigger plan is to go out a few more times, get them cleaned up and give any that I won’t realistically use to the junior section at our club. I’m sure the kids would make good use of them!

    • @AndysGolfBlog
      @AndysGolfBlog  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The main light beam is actually really good and shines up to around 100 yards or so. The UV has a much shorter range, but in truth, unless a ball is just lying on the short grass, you'd need to be up close(ish) to find it anyway. As you can see in the video, most balls are sitting within the rough or thicker stuff, but it does a wonderful job of highlighting those balls.

    Ok, commenting at 2:37, you won't be able to bring them all back. You'll need a 5 gallon bucket and then some. My family and I live on a golf course and we do this for fun!

      Haha maybe didn’t find quite that many but I do think that come the summertime the number and quality will soar! It’s great for exercise, isn’t it.
      I always wanted to live on a golf course growing up - you lucky, lucky person!

    Lol I'll guess you found about 110balls
    I used to go up the local course ( members only and quite posh) when I was a kid (over 40 years ago) with my dad to find balls between me and my dad we used to find anywhere between 10-20 balls on just two holes a par4 and a par5) As I recently took the game up again 6 months ago after not playing for over 40 years I decided as I still live in that Area I'd go and have a look I found about 50 balls ( The members there still aren't that much better)
    on the same 2 holes.
    I just bought the same 12000 lumin torch off ebay for £5 from china.
    And went back the following weekend and found 210balls I've been back3 or 4 more times and so far I've picked up almost 700 balls (200 aren't worth having either been in the woods too long and are faded damaged scuffed or just crap balls to begin with ( they are practice balls)
    The rest about 500 balls are all premium balls in Virtually New condition (with no damage other than a few have felt pen markings on them) from Titleist Callaway Taylormade or Srixon including around 80x ProV1s.
    And about an additional 50 mixed mint condition balls like Bridgestone, Vice, Kirkland(cheap but good) and Wilson.
    I've got a side bet on with the guy at work that I can find 1000 before xmas!

      Lol lost my side bet as I didn't go for a month then when I did I only found about75 so ended up at 950 or so.
      And I was didturbed as I was walking up one of the par5 holes there was someone coming the other way with a ridiculously large and bright lamp. Thinking it might be someone connected to the proshop I decided to beat a retreat as I doubt there would have been any other balls to find and I wanted to avoid any confrontation.

      Haha it’s funny you say that. I used to go out at my old club looking for balls but then some kids broke into the shed in the middle of the course and stole the sit on mowers. I was scared that someone seeing me out on the course with my torch would call the police thinking that I was trying to steal, so stopped going there after that! 😂😂

      Totally fine. At that price, it’s a no brainer. I’ve not been out much recently as I still have millions of balls and it’s been lighter in the evenings, but still works fine. It’s powered by standard batteries so they’ll maybe need a changing after a few rounds but it’s otherwise as good as it is in the video. Seriously impressed with how many balls I found with it
