Brillant job! It's any petrol head F1 fan dream to have a F1 gp car at your home garage, and Caterham was one of the most beautiful cars all seasons they joined. Hope to see more episodes soon!
What an incredible project to take on. Will be watching with interest as you progress with this. The Caterham F1 car was certainly one of the best looking on the grid. Glad you are saying this example.
Amazing work, sad these guys couldn't stick around, the hybrid power trains really gentrified the sport for only the super elite teams, it makes you wonder if they could have lasted a few more seasons running the v8s VS the power units.
This is amazing! I also loved the Caterham, I always root for the underdog and the car also looked damn good in that racing green. Such a shame they folded, that era was very cruel to challenger teams. Don't forget to do the next episode in 1080p so we can enjoy the fruits of your labour in HD 😀
5:56 I had my company logo on the left sidepod. Caterham did a crowd-funded thing for the last race of the season to scrounge up enough money to participate. I think there was an outside chance of scoring a point, and that would have brought enough prize money to be solvent.
Been following you for quite a few years over on Twitter now, happy to see you've taken to video format to show us how it's done. One thing though, at 360p the video quality is quite low, so I hope that'll be fixed in future episodes
Awesome! I have been a fan of F1 for many years and an employee of Safran so have always loved this car. So happy to see people taking ownership of such magnificent machines. Would love to do the same but it is a bit difficult here in Aus!!
Have you seen the You Tube Video Exploring the abandoned Caterham F1 Factory. From guys whose channel is Live Fast There are a ton of body molds left behind in an old shed that you need to get! Respect for your restoration. Chris in Miami
I have a brake disk off of one of these. Back when they went bankrupt they auctioned off parts and I picked up a rotor for the novelty of it. Grabbed a pad at the Goodwood FoS for fun too, though don't know if they would actually work together.
Now this is an amazing video, I’m thankful that it showed up in my recommendations! I still wonder what it costs to bring something like a somewhat modern F1 back to life.. I can’t imagine obtainable for a regular middle class citizen. Yes I saw the suggestion in the video that it was considered cheap, but I really doubt that I could afford it as a regular engineer.
Very nice job! It is very diffcult to rebuild these cars with no manuals and a bankrupt team, especially on a budget. Only the scrap Force India nose looks really off. However still better looking than the nose they started 2014 with. Please tell me you are going to try and make this driveable? This has to go around the track for one last time.
I worked for caterham composites from 2013 to 2015. Was a great small team.

Thank you. I will be uploading the second episode this weekend.

Only after the "nose job"!

I really liked it when Caterham brought the Lotus back to F1, thanks!🤩
As a QPR fan its interesting to see another Tony Fernandes vanity project requiring a total rebuild. Good luck, and nice work with the chassis.
Thanks!

...fantastic job...
Credit to you because this is a monumental project to take on. I probably would have stopped in the first month. 👍

I cant wait to see the other episodes!!
Thank you
I've got one of the wheel retaining nuts that they sold off to raise funds to get to the last couple of Grand Prix. Great to see one being rebuilt!
Great stuff, can't wait to see the next episode!
I should have the next episode released this coming weekend

WOW what a project! I just listened to you on the Swedish Viaplay F1 Podcast! Really cool story.
OH WOW! That is a great story, love the green color. Too bad the team didn’t make it
FANTASTIC!!!! GO CATERHAM!!!!!!
thanks
This is brilliant, i can't wait for the next episode
Thank you the second episode is almost ready to go
I've been following you on Twitter for ages good to see you on TH-cam 👍
What a project to take on! I’ll be following closely
Thank you
Hi, yes it will be running again in a track. Thanks for the kind words
This is awesome.

like one of the drivers said once, even a third rate F1 car is still better than anything else you will ever drive
Good stuff! but why only 360p 😔
Wow awesome video keep up the good work 👍 let's hope TH-cam / Google improve the video quality from 360 SD to HD
Thanks, the second video is how much larger in size
Very cool! Beautiful project. Cheers from Brazil! 🇧🇷
Thank you.
This is SO COOL! I can't wait to see this thing run again! I recommend having better camera quality for the future also. Have a nice day!
How surreal, caterham were on a budget too
Thank you for enabling comments
May i ask why only 360p video quality ? Part of the budget ??
I will try and save the next at 720
More !👍👍👍👍👍
Yes a new episode will be on line this weekend. Thank you
Hello,
Incredible project you make !!!
I have a question, how much it's all the parts ?
thank you, its too early to tell the total but keep watching

100% driveable in 2024, thank you for the kind words
Do you think it is possible to get the caterham original nose again?
I have the later nose so it will run like the Abu Dhabi car
I haven’t added it all up yet
❤
The hybrid era killed backmarker teams, Created barriers of entry and has now only seen championsip wins from just two teams in 11 years. Pretty Grim.
I probably wouldn't have stripped the original finish (was it a wrap also?). However, very interesting project. Do you have an engine?
Formula Renault
Oh good stuff. I assume you are the chap i was following on twitter for years befire i came off about a year ago?!
Yes that’s me thank you for the kind words
Thank you for the kind words
On a budget is pretty much how they run things over there anyway.
Nice work! Is there a historic championship for these cars? would love to see it at Goodwood or Monaco historics.
thank you for the kind words, would love to run it in one of the supporting events that are part of F1 GP weekends, once it is completed
360p is not for year 2024 🤔
Hi did you work for Caterham F1
Not at all, just an F1 fan
I wish they had a better camera
Cool what you did but yes the video quality is not good (360p) this is 2024 not 1999 ,-)
So awesome! Who doesn't want an F1 car! well if you don't then you're clearly gay.
opkkkkkkkkkkkkkkokokokokok
first things first, buy a new camera
incredible project !! but tbh this is one of the worst looking f1 in history ^^
@latebrakeshow would love this!
No es un feo auto..pero tiene una de las trompas más horrible que ví en un formula uno 🤔
That’s amazing! What a great job you are doing. Do you have instagram?
yes caterham f1 restoration on insta
