Very impressive. Thanks, I paid $2500 on my single engine SX190 2020 model. Just mid 2022

Pardon if this is a silly question but I'm new to boating and picked up a 2014 ar240 recently w 95 hrs. I noticed when flushing the motors there is like a rough clanking going on that has not rhythm to it and doesn't go away. Motors sound great though. Could this mean I may need to replace impellers and housing?

Mine do that at really low idle even though they are really new. I notice when you increase the RPMs it goes away on mine. If you’re able to inspect your impellers, and they don’t look too bad, I would say no reason to replace them or the rings.

Same pitch on the impellers and how was the performance after? Any gains?

I have not really noticed much difference other than less cavitation

Sorry you may have to check with the seller of the part. I personally would bet that they would still be the same.

Joe, I notice the Solas requires you to install nuts on the flange vs. tapped holes in the aluminum on the OEM Yamaha. What are your thoughts on this? Does it seem as secure? How far do the bolts extend pass the nuts. I boat in Salt so I'm always concerned about corrosion.

I actually Was just getting to the point to install mine. Personally I do not like this nut/flange vs. The factory part that threads into the wear ring housing. I tried to tighten them to the 29.5 foot pounds that I had found on the torque specs for those bolts with factory parts. It ended up widening up those flanges that hold the nuts. And so the bolt and nut just kept spinning I actually had to cut the bolt off with my multi tool On both ends to get it out. I used my vice to press the flanges back together as best I could. So I don’t know what the actual torque specs are for that new nut method is. When I put them back on I just hand tightened them with one hand, and then went with two hands and watch the nut as best I could and make sure I did not spin until it felt as tight as possible. I also used a bunch of red Loctite. I have not had the boat in the water yet. I actually ended up breaking my throttle cable When I was tightening up the last little nut that attached to the reverse gate! So, I will probably make a video about that next once I have parts.
      Good luck!

@@JoeOrnelas73 thanks so much for your thorough and timely response. I'm fairly certain my factory housing may have some high spots. I say that because when run dry it seems noisier than usual. I have a 2014 boat. My impeller is in great shape so I will probably leave that. I'm now considering just replacing it with the factory unit.

Leon Adler - Knowing what I know now. I agree with you. I may end up going back to OEM parts myself.

I did leave the Solas parts on after getting it all back together and ran all of the 2021 season and had no issues!I will recheck it all before this upcoming 2022 season to ensure no loosening has occurred. I Just wish the parts came with Torque specs.

Hey! I have a 2022 212XE with the same HO motors. The dealer has the impellers but not the housings. I wonder if these housings will work for me. I ordered a knock off brand from eBay
