Hello, there is an area above our stairway, which is part of our roof deck, built in 1986. Corroded steel are already exposed out from the concrete slab and there are already chunks of concrete falling down from time to time, most especially after a heavy rain. Some skim coat are made to be mixed with cement. The disadvantage is you may not get the proper mixture and inconsistency of your mix and you still need to buy cement which will give you additional cost unlike Tofil 802 paste type skim coat no mixing is required and you will get the same quality in each pail and the powder type you only need to mix with water.

1. You have to remove the exisiting paint prior to the application of skim coat. It will not adhere on painted surface.
2. For thin plastering, you can use Skim coat. But if it requires more thickness, you can use Buildrite Putty Master instead.

Hello, there is an area above our stairway, which is part of our roof deck, built in 1986. Corroded steel are already exposed out from the concrete slab and there are already chunks of concrete falling down from time to time, most especially after a heavy rain. Some skim coat are made to be mixed with cement. The disadvantage is you may not get the proper mixture and inconsistency of your mix and you still need to buy cement which will give you additional cost unlike Tofil 802 paste type skim coat no mixing is required and you will get the same quality in each pail and the powder type you only need to mix with water.

After the application, you can now use Tofil 803 primer and sealer and apply any water-based paint that your prefer.
