People have to accept that Mal has her own mind and value system. We should be applauding her for listening to her body and mind and going for what makes her happy.
This is an incredible video! Supporting mental wellbeing as well as physical wellbeing. And celebrating all bodies just… as… they… are. Love your content, your passion and your inspiration ❤️
I was looking forward to watching her excel in the games, but I'm glad she's at peace with her decision. I'd love to see her come back one day, but not at the expense of her mental health. Totally respect her decision and wish her the best ❤
Sport as a career is inherently entertainment.... In that space, you REQUIRE judgement from those watching. If they dont judge then they dont care, wont watch, and no money is earned.
I just have an issue with her not stating how much of a LUXARY being able to move to Hawaii with your bf at 19 is. 90% of people cannot do that because of money. I wish she would acknowledge her privilege and freedom.
Love this for Mal. Heartwarming to see her having fun at the beach. Training for joy is what she needs right now and I’m super impressed she recognises this so young.
Hybrid, "Functional training" has been around for decades,CrossFit just branded their own style. I was teaching circuit training classes and sessions in gyms in Australia and Canada in the 80's and 90's. It worked then just as it does now and we are just seeing that the "average Joe/Jane" can relate to Hyrox etc, more than they can to CrossFit. Hyrox is booming for that very reason.
Yeah it has been around for decades in some format but it’s evolved now and it’s massively on the rise rather than just in the odd class format. You just need to check trend data to see how much it’s growing
Disagree. You can struggle with mental health and have a very strong mindset. In fact I would say people with mental health issues often are more resilient than people who don’t. I would say she definitely does have that. I absolutely believe she can do what she sets her mind to but I majorly respect her for putting herself first.
Not bashing CrossFit, I love and do CrossFit. Just stating facts. CrossFit is a lot and very overwhelming training wise in comparison to other sports where you know what you’re training for, she had a lot of pressure put on her and there are lots of parts of the CrossFit space that can be super toxic. It’s unsurprising.

Yeeeees!

Yeah!! She’s amazing! So cool that she knows herself so well now!
You cannot stop people criticizing athletes. Learn to live with it.
And we can think those people are idiots. Learn to live with it.

Health comes first always!! 💖
That is one step to becoming a champion, hopefully she comes back
I hope she does whatever’s right for her 🥰
It’s fine to not have the mentality of a winner, she was never going to be the next Tia

She's off cycle. 😂
Sheesh. Competing really took a toll on her. Best of luck
how does she afford to live in HI???? Just Instagram?
Mel. Come back
Why are you bashing crossfit all the time?
You're painting a picture that she wants to get away from crossfit. Do you know her personally?
