I'm listening to "Play It Out" on Deezer HiFi, and I must say that I'm blown away. It's hard for me to conceptualize how to put that much effort into my songs... I usually take 45-60 minutes to crank out a beat, because of my ADHD paired with my Akathisia from psyche meds... but I've gotten fairly good at doing what I can in an allotted time period. I'm getting medication soon for ADHD, so that might help. The synths you use are crisp and fresh. As far as the video goes, there was a ton of invaluable information. It was also presented very well. I immediately went and spruced up my SoundCloud. The great Midnight Bandit thanks you.
Thank you for this! I have found myself so intimidated by feeling like I have all of this STUFF to do and numbers to hit and people to impress, and I just need to focus on one priority at a time - just be mindful about what I’m doing. This was really encouraging! Sharing!
Perfectionism is pointless. The Beatles sound shot compared to modern day production but no-one complains. People love raw, lo-fi underground music. Plus most casual music fans are not going to notice the details.
Thank you so much dude! Great advice. I’m in a melodic hardcore/punk band, so I don’t imagine we’ll get tons of plays, but this will help us out so much. Great video!
This was very informative, I’m an artist and I for now only post music on SoundCloud, so thanks for all of the knowledge and I pray that this video blows up. 🙏🏾💪🏾
Up to you bro. The point is to be consistent and then analyse what's working and what's not working. Delete (if you choose to) the ones that don't work and make more of the ones that do work.
Great tips, thanks! Please make more videos talking about the specifics of soundcloud. You could detail a little more about collabs there for instance. Congrats for your work!
Thanks for these tips. I'm wondering what you see as consistent. How many releases are we talking about in a year and are we talking professional mix and masters because cost becomes a factor then. Are most people putting out demo versions on soundcloud or polished, finished tracks? Cheers
Thanks bro. I’m a dub techno artist, it’s pretty hard reaching a decent fan base since my genre of music isn’t very known. Hope this can help me out ☺️ also I’m down if you wanna collab since I’ve read you also make techno. Let me know if you want to make some music together 🙏🏻
I appreciated this info. I have been releasing songs for awhile and have now gotten to a point where I can release often. I want to maximize exposure across all platforms, but in terms of soundcloud all I know is repost exchange. Do you have any repost channels you recommend?
I have a question. Any idea how many streamings on soundcloud minimum or maximum =1$? or any idea if someone has 50k streaming per 24 hours any amount of money idea should be earing? minimum or maximum? To collect streaming money all I need ISRC code and link in SoundCloud track?
You'll get about $3.00 per 1000 monetized streams. A monetized stream is a stream that plays an ad. Consider that some people have Adblock, so ads might not play as much. You might have 1000 plays and only 300 monetized streams!
I don't agree with treating music as content. I see the utility in the strategy, but it lends itself to filling the world with too many subpar, crappy tunes. But perhaps you could clarify frequency for that strategy. Once a week? Once a month? I'm assuming not once a year unless it's an album. And hopefully not once a day lol.
Russ released a song once a week for 3 years. And now he's a superstar. "From December 2011 to August 2014, Russ released 11 albums and 87 singles consecutively; all free of charge. Despite this, his music had not gained the attention that he wanted, so he began to release a song every week on SoundCloud for almost three years."
Excellent info but I disagree with what you said about our friends being the best advocates. At least in my case my family and friends are the Only ones who never give a like or a share to any of my music posts on my social media platforms. A prophet is never a profet in his own Town. Thats the truth.
it's a cool vid , I like it....but I find soundcloud kind of waste of time!....and do'n't u think that following 300 artist/people ad having zero followers it's lookalike a loser thing? I don't know....among others platforms I find soundcloud pretty useless ( for the moment)
THANKS FOR THE TIPS... Everyone just know were all grinding to the top it's not a competition
