It's impossible to hear above 16KHz in this test, TH-cam compression trims off above this frequency range because it doesn't make much of a difference for most people most of the time. You can verify this by downloading the audio and viewing the waveform in a spectrogram. The first signal above 0dB (normalised) is 16KHz.
yea, and i didnt figure it out until i fired up the RTA in my X32 Edit software... first i made sure it was set to pre-EQ, then i thought i maybe had a high cut enabled somewhere, then after making sure there was nothing on my hardware that was blocking everything from 16k+, i noticed that no matter if i could hear it or not, there was absolutely no audio signal until around 16k... :)
I am 71, my audiologist told me I lost 50% hearing in Treble. How could I hear 120 (Excellent) frequency? Either the dial needs calibration or a faulty sound card chip.
I recently went clubbing & returned home with annoying tinnitus. When I woke up, the tinnitus continued & loud sounds hurt my ears, left more than right. As a doctor I knew this was "normal" after loud events, but still wanted an idea of what to expect before seeing the ENT specialist. The tinnitus has gone away & I have no more pain, but as expected, my left ear has slightly worse hearing. Even though I scored above "excellent" on both sides, I know whatever damage done is permanent, as hair cells located in the inner ear cannot repair themselves or grow back after being damaged. I'm afraid I will receive similar news from the ENT doctor, but overall satisfied with this test & relieved to know the damage was "minimal". Thank you.
@@aggaming786 Me to. This is a scam, I don't hear higher than 4,000 Hz on other tests. This guy even doesn't change frequency, tone is always the same.
That is good result for your age. Except for noise in some systems, there is nothing above 16kHz in this video because TH-cam cuts those frequencies out.
According to Cakewalk, the TH-cam compression cuts off Hz over 16k. I can hear 16k at almost 35 years old. They say after you hit 30, you go down to 16,000 from 17k. Some sources say you go even lower in Hz after you hit 25 y/o. Lol. Well, I passed a bunch of online hearing tests, even though I have had tinnitus since like 14 y/o or so. Lol
I don't understand why you have such rude terms to describe hearing loss such as "Grandmas" or "90 years old." I have severe hearing loss in one ear, and sometimes want to test and see how it's doing. Everyone who has a hearing impairment isn't a 90 year old Grandma.
I AM SORRY TO TELL YOU THAT IT'S IS NOT WORKING WITH EARPHONE OR HEADPHONES BECAUSE WHEN I TRIED WITHOUT EARPHONE I CAN HEAR TO 150 BUT WHEN I PUT EARPHONE OR HEADPHONES I CAN HEAR TO 120 ONLY 😁😁
This was a horrible video test. I was born with a hearing loss and I can only hear to about 1200 hz and I’m not deaf by any means. I can talk and hear people as well as carry a conversation. To say that 4000hz is deaf is a gross misrepresentation in this video.

He is indian. They dont understand science and things they are just here to make money on youtube.
Good comment, it seemed strange why i can hear 16kHz in almost all videos and only 12kHz in a few others. So yt limits anything over 16 or 12kHz!
My dog started going crazy right at 16 khz
Thank you. I had the hearing of a person that had been 10 20 years

The test is faulty and not accurate, if you read through the comments everyone here gets ~1575Hz
im also in excellent group that means my ears are 50% gone
My hearing cuts out above 8.5 kHz. This test puts me at Excellent, 120. Obviously the scale is not in units of kHz.
TH-cam is capping the audio feed at 16 kHz, and there is a lot of aliasing, so it’s not actually the correct frequency
This^
Don't get so happy for finding out that you are excellent. Everyone gets excellent, the youtube is changing the actual video frequency
I heard mine around the "remarkable" part.
Thx buddy...i thought I hv gone deaf

I have no clue as to the true accuracy of this hearing test, but for a 65 year old with headphones on I tested excellent all the way to 15 Khz.

Should I put at max vol or no????

As a matter of fact it seems most ppl incl me have a score of 120
Sometimes my ear rings but I can hear 120 but in some tests I have 60 year old hearing without headphones

I tried again after short 5 minutes training and hit 16k Hz it improved
