Chunky does well with DK in matchups that DK is very bad at. Thats how good Chunky is. I watched him play in the box tonight and he was stunning.

Yeah, try just pressing B and running away in a tournament setting and see how far that ACTUALLY gets you. Not a fan of the comments dragging down Arjay for their playstyle with the character. Online or not, they beat Chunky Kong fair and square.

I use dark samus, and even when I hardly use projectiles, salty people immediately just say I spam.
I use samus close-range a lot, and that's still not acceptable LoL
Honestly, the dk kept falling for the charge shot, and the he could've easily utilized platforms instead of using up b repeatedly.
That's why the samus kept doing it- the dk was being predictable.
On that note, I think chunky Kong kept using too many risky moves at vital times, and he got punished for it.
As a Dk main, I don’t blame the Samus for spamming. DK combo game is scary.
Because the smash community thinks that dumbass go in play vs a character that’s you don’t want to go in on is entertaining to their ADHD brains. I’m a dk main even, but I understand samus camping with projectiles because it’s optimal especially when up a stock. Why would any intelligent player not use projectiles against a character who is best at close range?

1) to the people that are defending me, i appreciate all of you :) you guys are awesome
2) to people giving me shit for playing defensive, i tell you what, you play Samus and Chunkykong and box with him instead of using your projectiles and lmk how that goes for ya
Watching the first two games in the set, I was wondering why you basically never followed a small charge shot that hit with a grab, since against a DK that's basically a guaranteed grab. Then I noticed in game 3 you started abusing that a lot more and it gave you such an advantage. Was the idea in games 1 and 2 to condition ChunkyKong to not expect a tether grab after a small charge shot, or did you simply adapt to the matchup as you went?

My friend is a really good DK and my other homie who’s just starting out plays samus, I sent this match to him to give him an idea of the kill confirm setups, edge guards, and neutral he should be looking for in the matchup! Great match, congrats on the dub!
Very few people in here a rooting for Samus and after watching this gameplay I understand why.
Samus can be a very fun and pretty aggressive character if played right. She's got pretty good movement and has a lot of tools for a lot of situations, so she can get some momentum going and it can be pretty nice to watch. Quik is a better Samus to see what I'm talking about
Honestly this was one of the more entertaining matches yet!
It's like people don't want Samus to use projectiles. When dealing with a character like DK, why would you not use that to your advantage. (Although I will admit, he uses charge shot in unnecessary situations)
Yeah, I noticed how they kept staying idle a bit in-between moments when DK was off stage or on the other side of the stage. From I've learned, a lot of top players are CONSTANTLY moving, never being still while keeping their opponent on the edge. This match wasn't too bad, but I think this Samus main has potential they haven't tapped into yet.

Chunky was schmoovin all over but as the games dragged on it felt like Arjay got his patterns down.

Ehh.....this Samus player is ok. To many charge shots and some what campy. Samus is capable of so much more. Only a handful of cats understand this. The best samus’ will hunt you down relentlessly and go way out and low off stage and play an aggressive defense that walks hand in hand with an offensive beast mode. Thumbs up if you understand, hate if you don’t ( you probably campy). Stay crispy y’all!!!
That wasn't a samus player, that was a B button player. I always love destroying other campy samus players in a ditto while I intentionally not use any projectiles while doing it.
@@adamramirez507 yeah man! I mostly use charge shot for movement with b reverses and wave bouncing and everything in between. If I knock you even slightly off stage I will go after you and dunk you ASAP that whole shoot shoot, run shoot mayweather style play is wack. Projectiles have their place as well as charge shot but there is more to finessing Samus than BBBbBB, dash, back kick lol. Mostly every move I make is both offensive as well as defensive. Also, in my opinion, mastering the offense, defense, and recovery aspects of down B bombs with crisp movements ( B reverse/inverts ) makes you a more formidable opponent.
Yeah, not many wifi samuses use the fact that she is great at controlling tempo and has one of the best midrange finish moves in the game (charge shot)

You right. This Samus player didn't feel right. Felt too predictable with bombs and B spam. It's just that it's harder to work around in wifi. Samus can be so much cooler with her tech chases, bomb shield pressure, and even unexpected aggression

This match up is very risky for DK. You get punished for anything that isn't perfect and it's always frustratingly hard to control the flow

I know Samus' gameplan is camp with projectiles. It doesn't make sense to push. But how do you even have fun sitting there pressing B at specific times, just in general not in a tournament setting.
Watch players like Yb, who play with the good blend of aggression and defensive play, yeah samus's core gameplan is to camp, but boxing with her is not as bad
Samus is not a camp character in this day and age. She is out-camped by most (if not all) dedicated zoners and can't really go toe to toe with rush-down characters. She lacks a reflector, counter, projectile shield like Link, or absorption move which puts her at a huge disadvantage when trying to play her super campy. She wrecks heavies, though. iirc Samus is DK's worst matchup. Samus is a heavy floaty who has to win neutral a lot and has a lot of pretty good tools. The character is really more about wave-bounce, zair, and bombs than she is about spamming charge beam. I don't doubt that online you see it a lot, but against the most common online characters a full or half screen charge beam is more likely to kill the samus than her opponent.
@@frostatine Like there are flaws in the plan. And there are always counter-picks. But how much fun do players have sitting in the corner like the player did this game, ignoring the fact that its a tournament. Probably none. And other online samus's just see the GSP go Brrrrr.
@@mcmudkipp what's considered high gsp anymore? I'm pretty new to this game, only been playing (a lot) for the last month. I'm around 5 million give or take. Aside from teching, I have most mechanics down.
@@frostatine You get into elite around 7.5 million give or take. And being really good is like 8-9 milllion.
I don't have teching down pat myself. But you can definitely tell when you are playing a 5 million gsp player vs a 6 or 7 million gsp player. Honestly if you are in 5 million gsp is because you either A) Have a character capable of carrying you up there, or B) Have good knowledge of the common matchups in quickplay. Common limiting factors is actually failure to adapt to an odd playstyle, getting tilted/desperate and doing smash attacks randomly, and inability to seamlessly go from regular neutral play to "Kill" mode without being really obvious, or by throwing out a random smash attack hoping it will hit. Limiting factor afterwards becomes missing techs.

I get pro play is a different level but I’d love to see some rocket/ cannon mix ups . They aren’t used too much and are actually rather effective . I’ve only seen the super missiles , not the homing one . Like these missiles are fast to shoot , pesky and quick damage for set ups .

I literally main K-Rool, I know about using projectiles to zone and maintain stage control. I also think it's the most boring part of playing K-Rool; whom I play because he is, otherwise, a fun character.
In Smash you "play lame, win game". Lame doesn't mean bad, lame means boring. Let alone that it's just my opinion, if you think use of projectiles is hype; bully for you.
