- As a Pennsylvania FedEx delivery driver dropped off some packages, he suddenly collapsed. Homeowner Mark Macala says he will never forget that awful moment Adonis Whitner collapsed at his doorstep. Devlin Robinson, a state senator, had just pulled into his driveway when he saw his neighbor dealing with the crisis. They started CPR and called 911. Thankfully, Whitner recovered. Inside Edition;s Ann Mercogliano has more.
"he setup a gofundme account to help pay for those bills" what an amazing healthcare system we have.
Ah, yes it really is lifesaving!
He'd be needing a GoFundMe account to pay for his funeral if it hadn't been for the Republican senator!
@@stevetaxpayer6664you know the rest of the world is so confused by your health care system. Why do Americans pay so much in taxes but get nothing back. Your money only goes to your military industrial complex and subsidizing giant industries like big pharma and oil (which is also funny considering how much you guys tout the "free market"). Also, if you actually taxed the companies and richest Americans the same rate as your working class citizens you all could actually get something more directly useful like basic Healthcare and education for everyone.... kinda the gold standard for being a first world nation these days.
@@stevetaxpayer6664This is one of the many platforms you run to to be passive aggressive and complain eh?
Dont they get health insurance from work? I know if they’re seasonal workers then they might not qualify.
He’s lucky to be alive thanks to some friendly residents.
It’s staged. Like that scene from better call saul
I think what you meant to say was "normal residents". Not to discredit what they did, but most people would've done the same in this situation (at least the person who received the package).
@@Alastair_Adana so,tell me if you faint outside of someone else house and they helped you does that means it's stage?
@@Alastair_Adana and so is the happy life that your living in
@@Alastair_Adana thats literally how a person with a heart attack reacts.
43 years old is crazy young to possibly die of a heart attack
it could happen to anyone at anytime ..
not any more....
@@Lauren-vd4qedon't you even start 😠
It can happen at any age.
Yeah, that’s how my uncle died back in 2005. He was just a normal guy healthwise, and then died in his sleep.
Great job gentlemen. I think basic CPR and first aid should be taught in all schools along with life skills. Glad this man survived.
my highschool taught it thankfully, I agree entirely. (and i’m also a lifeguard now)
It was mandatory in my health class. We all had to get CPR certified. Technically mine expired, but I still know exactly what to do
We had CPR and First Aid as an elective in college, but not enough people signed up, so it got cancelled. I really wanted to take it too. Sad.
@veg2489 you can get free certifications online, red cross, and check your local fire/ems. They always have safety and first aid classes
It's mandatory in most US states
I was in the same situation as this guy, I wouldn’t be here as well if it wasn’t for my roommates. I’m glad he is still alive and praises for the 2 guys that saved his life:
Wait, what happened?
@MrBp.... when you went down did you know that you're friends were there to help ..was it comforting in the hour of your GREATEST need?
As a USPS driver it is INSANE they still make us drive around in 110+ degree temperatures in the summer with NO AIR CONDITIONING
Yeah, it's not suprising people get most heart attacks or strokes then.
Did you ever consider changing crafts and become an MVO in trransportation? I retired 12 years ago as one. All our trucks had federally mandated a.c. as CDL vehicles must have it. I always tried to help out carriers. Being on T2, I closed out the various stations in the Boston area. One was in the North End (little Italy) and I'd grab the carriers collectiion mail. Always carried an extra hamper for this, especially in the Winter. Some MVO drivers had the "not my job" attitude, but I just felt bad seeing the carrier struggle with stacks of tubs on his hand truck. After awhile he'd try and have a coffee for me, so I guess one good deed deserves another. God Bless
It gets 130 degrees in the FedEx trucks smh
Then don't do it.
You knew what you were signing up for quit trying to get sympathy with your 70k a year job
He doesn't even look that old. Hard work does not pay off, it only kills you. Thank God he's okay.
In the beginning they say it was a heart attack, but later they use a more vague "cardiac arrest". Given that they want to give him an internal defibrillator, I'm guessing it's a chronic and maybe genetic heart condition rather than the kind of stuff that usually causes a heart attack. Age would be less of a factor.
Anyone can have a heart attack or stroke regardless of age or health. Older or less healthy people just have a higher chance, but no one's chance is 0%.
Could also be poor health. Someone who appears relatively healthy but have terrible health.
daa4309: "Hard work does not pay off, it only kills you"? With that attitude, good luck.
"hard work does not pay off" the ignorance in this statement is beyond me
So good on those two men. My dad died of a heart attack. He was alone. I’m so glad Adonis had these two looking out for him and the first responders, doctors, and other medical staff who worked to save his life. This was so heartwarming.
I'm sorry for the loss of your dad 😢
@@caseycat thank you.
" I AM THE FEDEX GUY." I love that
This is what we need to see more of post pandemic. Just people helping each other out, irrespective of race, job, age, etc. Good on these guys for saving this man's life.
He’s so lucky that guy was home when he dropped the package! 📦
Absolutely
I am a food delivery driver (retired teacher), thanks for those who leave cold bottles of water, and actually tip for this service. On the other hand, those who receive bags of food in 100 degree weather and stiff the drivers.....please get your own food!!
So agree. Try dragging a mattress up to a second floor apartment during a heat wave. Some people have no idea how exhausting this line of work can be.
Its your job, why would soomeone pay some again for it? and im not criticizing who does. I only tip when they make the extra mile. like your house was too far away and you pay too little for the delivery fee and that person shoulder all that expense not the company/
I wish the companies you work for actually paid you rather than having us tip you. The rest of the civilized world does it that way
Then find a different job if you expect handouts for deliveries.
stop begging
Protect those men at all costs!
Bro I do door dash and it’s so tiring to do 15+ trips….. 175 stops a day ???? Wow
That’s light
I used to do 200-220 a day
And you have AC in your vehicle FedEx and ups does not
is 175 a lot
Amazon is doing 180-200 everyday.. that's not including group stops, which is multiple houses. So realistically they're doing 230+ houses per day.
@@SeminarioMAE no it’s a easy day
I'm so happy he's alright now. Man was super lucky it happened at a house with a home owner right at the door and not in his truck or at an empty house.
I was lucky not to be the one who fainted in the accident but I still want to thank everyone who saved him
Someone has gained a good friend that day
So glad competent and alert people were close by to help him!! Adonis, best of luck man!!
Poor guy. I’m glad he’s okay.
Wow a heart attack at 43 but he made it just goes to show age means nothing ! Im 49 My dad is 76 and no health issues yet so i hope we continue on our no 911 needed path for many more years😊
I love how they don't give props to the first responders who definitely saved his life to, and hundreds of others every day.
Why is this reporter shouting like she's witnessing this in person
i was just gonna say the same thing they all yell it’s like why lmao 🤨
it's just her play by play voice
My gawd, most obnoxious!
🤣
Omg! So annoying and shrill. And unnecessary 🤦♀️
My 36 year old female friend had this happen also! This was back in 2018. Thank goodness a lifeguard was with her and gave her CPR! She is so lucky to be alive.
I am glad that Adonis is okay, and I am so glad that there were people there to help him. I applaud them for helping him.
Time....what if! OMG...
"The most important thing in life is to save lives..." My Dad...miss you Pop's!
Could they ever be thanked enough just for being good human beings?
♥️🇺🇲🙏🗽🦅👉☝️♥️
Thank God he’s okay. Thank you God for the people you used as instrument to help this guy 🙏🏻
Oh my God, I am glad the people all came to this man's rescue. He's only 42 years old.
Surviving a cardiac arrest event is very rare and he is very lucky to have survived especially since this didn’t happen in a hospital. As a medic I’ve done a lot of CPR outside of the hospital where almost no one survived however cardiac arrests in the hospital has a higher chance but even then most of those don’t survive either. I worked as a respiratory therapist and have seen many cardiac arrests in the hospital. Well done to these two men saving his life. Had the homeowner not been home he most likely wouldn’t have survived
God bless these people
Remarkable gentlemen! God bless them!
God bless those men in the right place and the right time to rescue❤.
I'm so glad he made it! Great guys who helped him.
one doesn't survive cardiac arrest for often.....thanks to these guys for doing something....
Wonderful update! I'm so glad he survived and is on the mend!!! ❤️🎉
Thank god for those good people!
OMG i'm so glad there was people there at the time with him and get well soon bud, sending prayers and support to you and your family from London, and well done to them two. Its so good to see people help others, instead of all the bad we see day after day
Nice work gentlemen!
When it’s not your time it’s not your time! There was a story to be told and a purpose to be met❤
Thank you God for saving this man! ❤
Thank Goodness ! They helped him and saved his life. Very awesome guys ! 👏
I'm so happy to know he recovered
Wonderful, wholesome story that we all need ❤️
Wonderful outcome , good luck Adonis
Great guys, glad he's doing well.
Does fedx not have their workers medically insured?! But praise the Lord help was there when the good man's heart stopped.
Unfortunately, no. FedEx is contracted and it’s up to that contractor whether or not they supply health insurance.
@@Fade_Awayzdamn had no idea they were contracted!
There is no excuse to not have A/C in those trucks.
@@lelouchvibritannia4028 The have AC and even if they didn't it has no bearing on his heart attack.
FedEx should step up and pay for the defibrillator
Healthcare in this country is a scam!!! SCAM!!
In America? They would be bankrupt.
The gov should stand up and lower the health care bills
@@lolmfs and make companies responsible for their workers' health insurance

Ah, that was beautiful.♥️
So wonderful the homeowner and neighbor knew how to do CPR!! Something we should all learn. So glad the FedEx driver survived and is doing well. Blessings to all!!❤️❤️🙏🙏👍
Thank God for priceless people
Kudos to those who help him
Thank god the man was home and came out for his package could you imagine if no one was home to help him thank god he is okay

Honestly, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect! Also lucky people were home and he didn’t die and have it caught on someone’s Ring Camera. He’s so very fortunate!!❤
Not all Heroes wear capes and Thank you for your Service and Respect
I pay insane money for healthcare, but can’t afford to use it.
Truth .... They don't want Universal Healthcare. They want us to have "Affordable" Healthcare
Thank you Jesus he survived and thank God for those good samaritans
God Bless you all , so thankful for you it didn’t happen when you were driving. Take care guys thanks for being there for him.
Sending prayers and blessings for that FedEx guy and those guys who saved his life. 😇🙏🏽🕊💖

relateable wat Adonis said, when i had collapsed too in the hotel lobby i didnt know anything but i was able to said one last word im so dizzy and i dont remember anything, i just woke up inside the Ambulance.
Life is really unpredictable! Praise God for ppl like these two men~a heaven sent like angels to help Adonis and for sure theyll do that to others too! 🙏🏼

So great for that senator. Totally helped his case... Right?
Glad they helped and he’s well
I know how they must’ve felt in that moment, my parents’ friend’s husband passed away from a heart attack today, he was 42

I literally started crying
This Midwest heat wave is no joke! I live in Kansas City, and today it was 102 degrees outside. Be save and please stay hydrated
Thanks to save our brother!!!
and starting that day they became best friend
This is why you're never too young to see your cardiologist appointment. Get checked with an EKG. Get an echo. And go home.
AWESOME STORY! Brought tears to my eye's.
Sounds like a joke setup...a homeowner, senator and a fedex driver...
A homeowner, a senator, and a FedEx driver walk into a bar. The bartender looks up and says, "Is this a setup for a joke or just another day of late deliveries, broken promises, and rising property taxes?"

A senator... Probably just in time for a re-election too. LMAO
@@dejectedsmilez honestly based off the fact that they started cpr very quickly and told the ambulance they had only been doing it for a minute, that seems like a VERY VERY quick response time
@@dejectedsmilez he is actually campaigning for re-election, funny you say that.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who was superstitious
Great job to that community
I can't urge this enough. Everyone should have some kind of level one first aid training, especially CPR! Kudos to those gentlemen who knew what to do
Good humans!
Bravo to these heroes.
Still some good people in the world.
This is pure gold!
Well done guys, glad you both was there .To assist this fed ex driver Cheryl and Shane Australia 🇦🇺

This is VERY COMMON these days, and is as a DIRECT RESULT of that stuff forced on so many poor, innocent people throughout the world. THANK GOD I knew not to touch it. 🙏💪😻
“Yeah that’s me” …Adonis is funny. What a huge break the 2 guys were home and able to help him. I hope he is doing ok.
he had a heart attack but he survived... there's a video of him going back to that house to thank the homeowner...
Thank God someone was home. Imagine if it was just a regular stop and no one was there.
His problems would be over
Two angels.
Wow! So glad they knew what to do.
It's called Sudden Cardiac Arrest. I have heart problems and have to wear a Life Vest that has defibrillators in it in case I have a Sudden Cardiac Arrest. I'm glad that this man survived and there was people to help him.
R u planning on getting a AICD soon?
