      I'd like to know how you keep them fresh AFTER thawing. If you put it in the refrigerator, it just gets hard and stale. Keeping it on the shelf, it may mold before it gets used up.

    • @ChocolateBoxCottage
      @ChocolateBoxCottage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jameyross7915 this is a good question. Especially during summertime bread can go stale or mold more quickly than you can eat it. You might want to take the suggestion I offered in the video and pre-slice your bread before freezing. Then you can just pull out a slice or a few slices to use up within the next couple of days. They thaw easily in the toaster, too. ~Michele

    WOW! I never thought about produce bags! Thank you for such a great education on the Ankarshum mixer, bread making tips, the produce bags, and how to freeze bread properly! I froze some from my second batch and ruined it. Didn't even try to freeze after that, just gave the extra bread away. excited to bake my next batch. Hoping to order the Ankarshum mixer in the very near future.

      @@ChocolateBoxCottage I’m liking the jubilee silver and love the red but hubby thinks the red would stand out too much. We have a somewhat country look to our home and I think either would look good in there. Already have the counter that will be home to it. It’s the one under the microwave cabinet and perfect space for it with room to spare and only a few steps from my bread work space.

    I did it! I GOT MY ANKARSHUM ASSISTANT! OMGOODNESS, I LOVE IT! My bread dough was so different in there than hand-kneading. It felt so soft and smooth. I just wanted to play with it. Ended up making a second batch but made up the recipe. For some strange reason, I like to experiment. I made the dough, replaced 1 1/2 cup of water with milk, added two eggs, a decent amount of brown sugar (but not too much, didn’t measure) and a snort of cinnamon. It turned out so good. It had a hint of the cinnamon smell and taste and just sweet enough to eat as a snack or desert for those of us who don’t do a lot of sugar. Mom has been really not well this year and has not been able to eat much. I took her four of these thingamajigs for her and family. She LOVED THEM! I took her more today.
    Thank you so much for your channel and just the simple encouragement you give us!

    • @ChocolateBoxCottage
      @ChocolateBoxCottage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mmm! That is a good question. I think it is simpler to freeze baked loaves. Freezing dough requires a few adjustments to the recipe and handling of the dough. This would make a good video, thanks for the idea!! I used to make dough for 4 loaves; bake 1 and freeze 3. Once I got it figured out it worked quite nicely. Thanks again, Miz Ixy. 🌸 Blessings, Michele
