    • @chaselancaster1527

      @@79brumley I didn't see anything particularly wrong with the way the loop was tied to the string other than I like to burn my ends a little larger than he did in order to further prevent the loop from coming loose. I prefer a shorter loop and the nock set tied closer together than that. The nock itself has a lot of room to move north and south on the string with it tied like he did it. Some people stress about the direction the loop knots face on the top and bottom. As long as the knots are facing different directions, I never had a problem in 15 years of setting up bows. No criticism here either. Just my personal preference from experience. Everybody does it different.

    The metal brackets that are on the end of each limbs are put there for the press....the way you have it on press is not the right way....

    Isn't that D Loop tied the opposite way?

    • @johningersoll3931
      @johningersoll3931 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. For a right handed shooter, it should be tied the opposite of what he did. If you are using a swiveling head release, then it likely wont be an issue. But if you are using a thumb release, or a back tension/hinge release, it can induce torque on the string. Tying it opposite of what he did here would create a more natural, less torqueing effect by the d-loop.

    Hi, Just wanted to let you know that in 2009 I bought a Mathews DXT 60# 27 inch draw length the arrows are Carbon Express Terminator Lite Select 4560 I bought 3 dozen arrows they weigh 344.5 Grains. The bow shot 252 FPS. I put an Archery shack Flo Green /Black String and cable on that same bow .The only thing different about the bow was the peep. I added a peep with a rectifier so i could see my pins. nothing else was changed. The bow shoots 261 FPS. I shoot this bow about an hour a day every day and i will be putting on a new set of strings and cable this October. And of course they'll be from archery shack.

      That isn't really that accurate of a statement. It really depends on what brand of arrow you are shooting and how they rate their arrows.
      For instance, Carbon Express Maxima Reds come in 2 common sizes, 250 and 350. In their case, the 350 is the stiffer arrow at .342" deflection on a spine tester, while the 250 is the weaker arrow at .417" deflection. As their number increases, the spine or deflection decreases.
      Now if you go to an Easton 6mm FMJ, as the model number goes down, the deflection goes down. The 470 has .470", the 390 has .390", and the 320 has .320" respectively. This is the same for Beman, since they are made by Easton.
      Unfortunately, not all arrow manufacturers do things the same way, so you need to check the charts. For a Maxima Red at 27 inches and 55#, a 250 is the right arrow. For Easton arrows, they recommend a 400 or 390 spine for the same draw weight and length. So the Maxima would be .417" and the Easton 400 would be .400" and the 390 would be .390", so they are in the same ballpark on deflection.

      No.it is a different spine chart for carbon Express arrows.250 is correct.

      Look at today FOC, does it really matter. Lol These guys are shooting 60lb - 70lb 27" to 29" draw 450 gr - 700 gr. Lot of them are over spine. Lol Back to video question. Long as you're in the middle Of charts lb charts arrow length. So it says 60lb 28" 29" 70lb mine is set up at 27" 65lb 28.5" 70lb I use Easton Hexx 330. With a brass 50gr insert. My Mathews V3 27 is actually 66.8lb max. My arrow is cut right in the middle point of chart. When I put the short mod with lower poundage. I cut the arrow a inch and added a brass 50gr insert. My sight never changed. It is a Gold Rush 3 pin slider. What are the chances of not having too adjust your sight? When I had my Hexx 330 cut at 28.5" and v3 27 70lb. I didn't have brass 50gr insert. I had the factory 12gr installed. Believe it is 12gr. I use a lighted knoc. I added from a roughly Calulated 369 gr to 409 gr. I never weighed them on a scale.
