    Wow, I was premature in my initial comment. I am simply stunned, not by just the amount of work, but the overall complexity and number of systems you've upgraded, replaced, added, etc... Sun Seaker needs to recognize your overall value and provide you with a major perk in the form of a new Sun Seaker 65 Sport!!
    Seriously, I am really amazed by, not just the work you've put in to this boat, but the quality and huge amount! Absolutely incredible work James, truly inspiring!

    James I have to admit I was puzzled about your Superhawk but it's all starting to make a lot more sense now. I really appreciate it when someone makes upgrades / updates to their boat however you've gone above and beyond that making this far better than new. Simply amazing and great choices all around. I really hop you have an opportunity to enjoy your work and thank you so much for sharing. And, I totally agree about the trailering, gives you the most options now and in the future.

    Holy sh$t James! Outstanding work mate, I was immensely impressed with all the work you've done on this boat! Outstanding.
    I hope others truly understand the immense challenges and work you've done on this, the video certainly cannot capture the extent of the amazing work you've done.
    I know sales is where the $$$ is, but you could certainly be extremely successful on the labor, extremely skilled labor, side of the business. Maybe consulting on the side??? Get that Predator EVO in your slip sooner! Wish I could send you one, it's obvious how incredible your passion is for boating!
    Thank you for sharing this amazing work, your friend from across the pond in Ohio, John.

    James - mate, I know this is your think and it's great you are sharing with us but imagine if you had filmed the refit in stages as a "lockdown spin off" ? Your vision, work ethic, knowledge, professionalism and exceptional presentation style could definitely help pay for your next project. You have the opportunity of taping into both the luxury and refit markets. She is going to be off the charts fantastic 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆

      I've been taking little clips throughout the build, so hoping to do a more in-depth review once she's finished. I'd love to have done a real step by step series, but just not enough time to get works done and filmed simultaneously! It's defo given me ideas as to how I'll cover the next project (don't worry I've always got several on the go!)

    James, what a stunner. Here’s the million dollar (personal) question. Can you let us know what the costs were. I understand you have done most of it yourself but a video with a breakdown including the cost of boat would be amazing. Please keep the videos coming. Ben.

    • @TheVirtualYachtBroker
      @TheVirtualYachtBroker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is going to sound blasé and I don't mean it to.... so I added up what I'd spent at Christmas time (couple of months into the project), realised I'd gone well over where I originally set out, got cross with myself and had a week of reflection/feeling a little depressed. Then took the view that I'd stop adding, just get the fitout done exactly as I wanted, and worry about the eventual spend once she is finished.
      I didn't want to end up with something that I'd compromised on half way through the build, accepting the fact that I am well over what she is worth. I'm lucky to be able to undertake most things myself (although that probably takes much longer than bringing in an expert), so I've saved a fortune in labour.
      Once all the works are done, I will do a video running through the costs (although what good project is ever truly finished!)

      @@TheVirtualYachtBroker Here in Croatia we have a line when you spend too much money on the boat :)

      Yes I hear this said all the time over here in the Western Med, I think it's a shame for those who feel like this, as one way or another, we've loved every boat we've ever owned (even if they've ended up costing us more than planned). The memories shared/created together on the water are literally priceless.

    James totally love your dedication, professional approach and think that you guys are going to have so much fun.
    Its amazing the work you have done, can I ask as why you were so keen on it fitting on a trailer. Will you tow it to Europe on occasion?

    • @TheVirtualYachtBroker
      @TheVirtualYachtBroker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      2 reasons on the trailer...
      Versatility of storage - whilst we boat 365 days a year, it's good to have the flexibility to store when out of commission at home (saving money and much more efficient use time available for maintenance).
      Ability to take her off on adventures both here in the UK and also Europe. We've previously trailed boats down to the Med for holidays, hoping to also eventually get up to Scotland.

      @@TheVirtualYachtBroker can imagine that down in the med you have the best of times. The more I think about it your option is very smart. You get to go to a lot more places, while saving on actual engine hours.

    Hi James, I though my Nav project was big, then I watched this. That's an epic upgrade. Quick question, I have just bought an Axiom 9, and I have a Volvo Penta D4-260 EVC. Do you know how I can get the engine data on the Axiom? Thanks. You are not worms about the market being bonkers.

    • @TheVirtualYachtBroker
      @TheVirtualYachtBroker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, there are several interfaces out there, I have gone with YachtDevices, but there is also Maretron and Volvo also have their own gateway. Getting into the Raymarine sea talk NG network is pretty simple once you know what plugs are on the engine interface harnesses. I've got a coupe of adaptor cables to convert a regular Nema2k plug into the Raymarine device net plug. Not clear at the moment exactly what data I can pull down into the Axioms, but your D4 is more recent than my engines, so you should be able to extract a whole load of useful info.

    Done some work there lad!! Do you worry about the lack of petrol pumps at marinas or is it the case that, as you trailer it, that's not an issue?

    • @TheVirtualYachtBroker
      @TheVirtualYachtBroker  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes for sure, getting petrol in some parts of the Uk is not so easy. Luckily in the Solent we are well catered for. As we venture further afield in the future, it will necessitate fwd planning.
