- In 1980, Sierra Nevada made use of the brand new Cascade hop (named after the mountain range) to create a pale ale that sparked the American craft beer revolution. In this episode Joe and Alessandro review the beer that many believe inspired not just the craft beer movement in North America, but the IPA movement as well.

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale- a 20th Century classic.
I was born and raised near Chico, California, so this beer has been around most of my adult life. I’m being said this is absolutely my go to, I’ve always appreciated it and I believe it is the finest beer ever crafted. Your review, however, has brought some elements of its complexity into my mind and I feel like I have a newfound appreciation. Thank you, gentlemen. I appreciate it.
This has gotta be our favorite comment ever. Thanks for taking the time to hang out with us in the pub and watch. Cheers my friend 🍻
The Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Torpedo IPA, and Celebration IPA are 3 of my all-time favorite beers. Unfortunately, as I’ve said a few times, they have really reduced the number of non-IPA offerings (miss the porter, rye IPA, and Oktoberfest), but Narwhal and Bigfoot are two that thankfully still make the rounds, for now.
the barrel age narwal is the best. haven't seen it around much these days
@@hectorchavez8558 where I live even the unaged has not made an appearance despite having been in season since September. Fortunately I was able to grab a 6-pack when I was in northern California last week, but I hope this isn’t a new normal.
One of my favorites! Their Torpedo IPA is delicious too, wish we could get it in Canada.
Same! Hoping that one day we'll get some of their other brews.
Excellent, finally getting to sierra nevada
sorry it took so long 😉
Welcome to the future, from the past. Cheers!
Excellent Beer!
I tried this beer many times in Australia 🇦🇺 and I can say its great beer 🍻 💯

Are you sure SN Pale Ale is bottle and can conditioned?
It is bottle and can conditioned, yes! Part of what gives it its unique character.
@@BeerBracketsConfirmed today by SN! You guys are good 👍 Love your channel. Nice vibe, not snarky, good intel. Keep doing what you're doing
A lot can be said about California. What you absolutly can not say, is their beer sucks. For me, this is an all time favorite.
It’s definitely very worthy of being anyones favorite, that’s for sure. What are some of your other go-to’s?
@@BeerBrackets For IPA it's Lagunitas. For lager, I really enjoy Dos Equis. I love traveling in Mexico, so I might be biased there. British ales, I really like Belhaven.
And I hate to admit it, but i'm not really a fan of Belgian or red ales. They both have a funk, that i just can't stand.
We have a review of Lagunitas coming soon! Funny you should say that. I’m very biased towards Mexican lagers myself, have spent a lot of time travelling there. Modelo Negra and Pacifico are two of my favorites, maybe for nostalgic reasons.
